A novel synthetic N-(9-fluorenyl methoxy carbonyl)-L-Cysteine (Fmoc-Cys(SH)-OH) receptor was pre- pared by co-polymerizing (9-fluorenyl methoxy carbonyl)-S-(1-propene-2-thiol)-L-Cysteine (Fmoc-Cys(SCH2CHCH2)-OH) and a non-imprinted polymer prepared from 1-propene-1-thiol photo-chemically 15 h at room temperature and additional 3 h thermally at 80℃. Subsequently, disulfides were reduced with lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH4) from imprinted polymers. The imprinted polymers selectively recognized Fmoc-Cys(SH)-OH with high binding constants in aqueous and protic solvents by thiol-disulfide exchange reactions. In order to estimate the covalent rebinding, particles were further extracted and disulfides reduced were estimated with the non-covalent recognized and covalently bounded analytes. From rebinding studies that were conducted, we observed that proved polymer particles could be reproducible and contain constant binding strengths and recognition properties. Furthermore, we proved that short incubation periods resulted in fast and efficient thiol-disulfide interchange reactions.

The numerical approximation of the Spectral-Lagrangian scheme developed by the authors in [30] for a wide range of homogeneous non-linear Boltzmann type equations is extended to the space inhomogeneous case and several shock problems are benchmark. Recognizing that the Boltzmann equation is an important tool in the analysis of formation of shock and boundary layer structures, we present the computational algorithm in Section 3.3 and perform a numerical study case in shock tube geometries well modeled in for ID in x times 3D in v in Section 4. The classic Riemann problem is numerically analyzed for Knudsen numbers close to continuum. The shock tube problem of Aoki et al [2], where the wall temperature is suddenly increased or decreased, is also studied. We consider the problem of heat transfer between two parallel plates with diffusive boundary conditions for a range of Knudsen numbers from close to continuum to a highly rarefied state. Finally, the classical infinite shock tube problem that generates a non-moving shock wave is studied. The point worth noting in this example is that the flow in the final case turns from a supersonic flow to a subsonic flow across the shock.

We present the application of Support Vector machine (SVm) for the prediction of blast induced ground vibration by taking into consideration of maximum charge per delay and distance between blast face to monitoring point. To investigate the suitability of this approach, the predictions by SVm have been compared with conventional predictor equations. Blast vibration study was carried out at magnesite mine of Pithoragarh, India. Total 170 blast vibrations data sets were recorded at different strate-gic and vulnerable locations in and around to mine. Out of 170 data sets, 150 were used for the training of the SVm network as well as to determine site constants of different conventional predictor equations, whereas, 20 new randomly selected data sets were used to compare the prediction capability of SVm network with conventional predictor equations. Results were compared based on Co-efficient of Determination (CoD) and mean Absolute Error (mAE) between monitored and predicted values of Peak Particle Veloc-ity (PPV). It was found that SVm gives closer values of predicted PPV as compared to conventional predictor equations. The coef-ficient of determination between measured and predicted PPV by SVm was 0.955, whereas it was 0.262, 0.163, 0.337 and 0.232 by USBm, Langefors-Kihlstrom, Ambraseys-Hendron and Bureau of Indian Standard equations, respectively. The mAE for PPV was 11.13 by SVm, whereas it was 0.973, 1.088, 0.939 and 1.292 by USBm, Langefors-Kihlstrom, Ambraseys-Hendron and Bureau of Indian Standard equations respectively.

This paper discusses processing in-situ RZ5-10wt%TiC composite fabricated by self-propagating high temperature(S.H.S)method where RZ5 mg alloy was the matrix and TiC as *** purpose of this study is to improve the mechanical properties and wear resistance of the RZ5 alloy used in aerospace application by adding TiC *** wear test was performed using pin-on-disc apparatus against 600 grit abrasive paper by varying the sliding distance and applied *** composite was microstructurally characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEm)and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS).The results exhibited that the tensile strength and hardness of the RZ5-10wt%TiC composite increased considerably while grain size decreased compare to the unreinforced RZ5 *** SEm based fractography indicated mixed mode(quasi-cleavage and ductile feature)failure of the composite.

For the instability problem of density stratified shear flows in sea straits with variable cross sections, a new semielliptical instability region is found. Rurthermore, the instability of the bounded shear layer is studied in two cases：（i） the density which takes two different constant values in two layers and （ii） the density which takes three different constant values in three layers. In both cases, the dispersion relation is found to be a quartic equation in the complex phase velocity. It is found that there are two unstable modes in a range of the wave numbers in the first case, whereas there is only one unstable mode in the second case.

In this work, the influence of trivalent rare-earth dopants（Sm and La） on the structure-activity properties of CeO2 was thoroughly studied for diesel soot oxidation. For this, an optimized 40% of Sm and La was incorporated into the CeO2 using a facile coprecipitation method from ultra-high dilute aqueous solutions. A systematic physicochemical characterization was carried out using X-ray diffraction（XRD）, transmission electron microscopy（TEm）, Brumauer-Emmett-teller method（BET） surface area, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, Raman, and H2-temperature programmed reduction（TPR） techniques. The soot oxidation efficiency of the catalysts was investigated using a thermogravimetric method. The XRD results suggested the formation of nanocrystalline single phase CeO2-Sm2O3 and CeO2-La2O3 solid solutions. The Sm- and La-doped CeO2 materials exhibited smaller crystallite size and higher BET surface area compared with the pure CeO2. Owing to the difference in the oxidation states of the dopants（Sm3＋ and La3＋） and the Ce4＋, a number of oxygen vacancies were generated in CeO2-Sm2O3 and CeO2-La2O3 samples. The H2-TPR studies evidenced the improved reducible nature of the CeO2-Sm2O3 and CeO2-La2O3 samples compared with the CeO2. It was found that the addition of Sm and La to the CeO2 outstandingly enhanced its catalytic efficiency for the oxidation of diesel soot. The observed 50% soot conversion temperatures for the CeO2-Sm2O3, CeO2-La2O3 and CeO2 were ~790, 843 and 864 K（loose contact）, respectively, and similar activity order was also found under the tight contact condition. The high soot oxidation efficacy of the CeO2-Sm2O3 sample was attributed to numerous catalytically favourable properties, like smaller crystallite size, larger surface area, abundant oxygen vacancies, and superior reducible nature.

Armour grade quenched and tempered steel closely confirming to AISI 4340 is well known for its superior ballistic performance and hence used in the fabrication of combat vehicles. The traditional fillers like austenitic stain- less steel showed poor ballistic performance of these welded joints as compared to the base metal. Attempts have been made to deposit hardfaced interlayer between austenitic stainless steel weld metals. Though this method, mar-- ginal improvements in ballistic performance can be yielded, and cracks were observed in between base metal and hardfaced layer. Thickness of the hardfaced interlayer plays a vital role for the effective ballistic performance. Thus, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of hardfaced interlayer thickness on ballistic performance of ar- mour steel welds. The results of effect of buttering, low hydrogen ferritic （LHF） filler and three different hardfaced layer thicknesses （4, 5.5 and 7 ram） on ballistid performance of shielded metal arc welded armour steel joints were given.
