Epigenome-wide association studies(EWAS)are susceptible to widespread confounding caused by population structure and genetic ***,kinship estimation is challenging in EWAS without genotyping ***,we proposed methylgenotyper,a method that for the first time enables accurate genotyping at thousands of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)directly from commercial DNA methylation *** modeled the intensities of methylation probes near SNPs with a mixture of three beta distributions corresponding to different genotypes and estimated parameters with an expectation-maximization *** conducted extensive simulations to demonstrate the performance of the *** applying methylgenotyper to the Infinium EPIC array data of 4662 Chinese samples,we obtained genotypes at 4319 SNPs with a concordance rate of 98.26%,enabling the identification of 255 pairs of close ***,we showed that methylgenotyper allows for the estimation of both population structure and cryptic relatedness among 702 Australians of diverse *** also implemented methylgenotyper in a publicly available R package(https://***/Yi-jiang/methylgenotyper)to facilitate future large-scale EWAS.

In this paper, a corrected particle method based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method with high-order Taylor expansion (CSPH-HT) for solving the viscoelastic flow is proposed and investigated. The validity and merits of the CSPH-HT method are first tested by solving the nonlinear high order Kuramoto-Sivishinsky equation and simulating the drop stretching, respectively. Then the flow behaviors behind two stationary tangential cylinders of polymer melt, which have been received little attention, are investigated by the CSPH-HT method. Finally, the CSPH-HT method is extended to the simulation of the filling process of the viscoelastic fluid. The numerical results show that the CSPH-HT method possesses higher accuracy and stability than other corrected SPH methods and is more reliable than other corrected SPH methods.

Deactivation of polyphenol oxidase(PPO)in natural products is essential for downstream processing of functional molecules used as food or food additives,particularly those served as *** the present work,we identified two proteins with PPO activity from lowbush blueberry using ammonium sulphate precipitation and chromatography *** of these proteins was studied using aqueous solutions of ethanol of different *** PPO activity was recovered after ethanol removal for the protein samples previously soaked in a lowconcentration ethanol solution.A complete and unrecoverable deactivation of the proteins was achieved using ethanol with concentration over 70%(v/v),as manifested by the significant changes in circular dichroism(CD)and fluorescence spectroscopy *** on these findings,we propose a new extraction process for blueberry anthocyanin,in which an ethanol shock,*** blueberry fruit in a 70%(v/v)ethanol solution for 1 h,is implemented before subsequent *** new process increases the anthocyanin yield by 55%in comparison to that without the ethanol shock.

An AlSiY coating and two mCrAlY+AlSiY composite coatings with different thickness of mCrAlY interlayer were prepared by arc ion plating(AIP)and vacuum *** isothermal oxidation behavior of coatings at 1100℃ for 300 h was also investigated to characterize the microstructure evolution of coatings during *** composite coatings exhibited a better high-temperature oxidation resistance at 1100℃ .The reason is that the addition of mCrAlY layer can greatly contribute to prevent the diffusion of refractory elements to the outer *** inhibition of Al inward diffusion can be much stronger,as the Si content increases in the outer layer during annealing.

Innate immunity is essential for the wellbeing of vertebrates and invertebrates. Key components of this defense system include pattern recognition receptors that bind to infectious agents, extra-and intra-cellular proteins that relay signals, as well as molecules and cells that eliminate pathogens. We have been studying the defense mechanisms in a biochemical model insect, manduca sexta. In this insect, hemolin, peptidoglycan recognition proteins, β-1,3-glucan recognition proteins and C-type lectins detect microbial surface molecules and induce immune responses such as phagocytosis, nodulation, encapsulation, melanization and production of antimicrobial peptides. Some of these responses are mediated by extracellular serine proteinase pathways. The proteolytic activation of prophenoloxidase （proPO） yields active phenoloxidase （PO） which catalyzes the formation of quinones and melanin for wound healing and microbe killing. m. sexta hemolymph proteinase 14 （HP 14） precursor interacts with peptidoglycan or β-1,3-glucan, autoactivates, and leads to the activation of other HPs including HP21 and proPO-activating proteinases （PAPs）. PAP-1, -2 and -3 cut proPO to generate active PO in the presence of two serine proteinase homologs. Inhibition of the proteinases by serpins and association of the proteinase homologs with bacteria ensure a localized defense reaction. m. sexta HP1, HP6, HP8, HP17 and other proteinases may also participate in proPO activation or processing of spatzle and plasmatocyte spreading peptide.

A series of polymeric complexes were prepared from Fe^2＋, Co^2＋ or Ni^2＋ and poly（Schiff base）（DAPcIPA）, which was obtained by polycondensation of 5,6-diamino-1,10-phenanthroline （DAP） with isophthalaldehyde （IPA）. The structures of the polymer and the polymeric complexes were characterized by IR, 1^H-NmR and elemental analysis. The magnetic behavior of these complexes was measured as a function of magnetic field strength （0-3.98 ~ 106 A/m） at 5 K and as a function of temperature （5-300 K） at a magnetic field strength of 2.39 × 10^6 A/re. Experimental results show that DAPcIPA-Ni^2＋, DAPcIPA-Co^2＋ are soft ferromagnets while DAPcIPA-Fe^2＋ exhibits features of an antiferromagnet.

Improved multi-Bandwidth mode manifold for Enhanced Bearing Fault Diagnosis

Variational mode decomposition(VmD) has been proved to be useful for extraction of fault-induced transients of rolling bearings. multi-bandwidth mode manifold(Triple m, Tm) is one variation of the VmD, which units multiple fault-related modes with different bandwidths by a nonlinear manifold learning algorithm named local tangent space alignment(LTSA). The merit of the Tm method is that the bearing fault-induced transients extracted contain low level of in-band noise without optimization of the VmD parameters. However, the determination of the neighborhood size of the LTSA is time-consuming, and the extracted fault-induced transients may have the problem of asymmetry in the up-and-down direction. This paper aims to improve the efficiency and waveform symmetry of the Tm ***, the multi-bandwidth modes consisting of the fault-related modes with different bandwidths are first obtained by repeating the recycling VmD(RVmD) method with different bandwidth balance parameters. Then, the LTSA algorithm is performed on the multi-bandwidth modes to extract their inherent manifold structure, in which the natural nearest neighbor(Triple N, TN) algorithm is adopted to efficiently and reasonably select the neighbors of each data point in the multi-bandwidth modes. Finally, a weight-based feature compensation strategy is designed to synthesize the low-dimensional manifold features to alleviate the asymmetry problem, resulting in a symmetric Tm feature that can represent the real fault transient components. The major contribution of the improved Tm method for bearing fault diagnosis is that the pure fault-induced transients are extracted efficiently and are symmetrical as the real. One simulation analysis and two experimental applications in bearing fault diagnosis validate the enhanced performance of the improved Tm method over the traditional methods.
