Impact of downwind sampling location and height on inverse-gaussian dispersion modeling: A theoretical study

In the studies of fate and transport of air emissions from animal feeding operations,gaussian based dispersion models have been commonly used to predict downwind pollutant concentrations through forward modeling approach,or to derive emission rates and emission factors through inverse dispersion modeling *** the gaussian dispersion modeling process,downwind sampling location and sampling height could generate significant impact on accuracy of the model validation,or inverse modeling results based upon field *** study theoretically analyzed the impact of downwind locations and sampling height on gaussian dispersion *** was discovered that the field sampling needs to be conducted at the locations beyond the plume touching-ground distance,at a downwind distance as short as 5 m for the case scenario with zero rise of emission plume under the atmospheric stability class C,or as long as 297 m for the case scenario with 15 m rise of emission plume under the atmospheric stability class *** order to measure the Pm concentrations of the dispersion plume,the minimum sampling height at the locations within the plume touching-ground distance varied from ground level to as high as almost 14 m,whereas for the locations beyond the plume touching-ground distance,a sampling height of ground level would be acceptable.

We present a comparative study of electronic structure and magnetic properties of gd5Si4 and gd5ge4compounds using first principles full potential linearized augmented plane wave(FP-LAPW) method based on density functional theory(DFT) using the WIEN2 k code. The local-spin density approximation with correlation energy(LSDA+U) method has been used as the exchange-correlation potential. The optimized lattice constants are in good agreement with the experimental data. The total and partial density of states(DOS) of gd5Si4 and gd5ge4show the difference in Si 3p-gd 5d and ge 4p-gd 5d hybridization, which have an effective role in indirect exchange *** addition, the magnetic moments of gd, Si, and ge atoms and the compounds are calculated to clarify the differences in the magnetic properties of these compounds.

The equilibrium partition ratio, k, has been measured for mn, mo, Si, Ni and Cu in a ductile iron with composition(wt.%): 3.45 C, 0.25 mn, 0.25 mo, 2.45 Si, 0.5Ni and 0.5Cu with different nodule counts obtained from different section sizes of13, 25, 75 mm in the as cast, austenitized(at 870 °C for times 1, 4 and 6 hours) and austempered(at 375 °C for times 1 to 1,440 min) samples. Results show that mn and mo segregate positively at cell boundaries, but Si, Ni and Cu concentrate in an inverse manner in the vicinity ofgraphite nodules and there is a depletion ofthese elements at cell boundaries. Segregation curves for Ni and Cu are more smooth than for Si. Carbide formation has been observed at cell boundaries. Based on the results, the partition ratios for all elements decrease with increasing the nodule count. more carbide with coarser morphology has been observed in the microstructure with a lower nodule count. Austenitization for a longer time can decrease partition ratio, but cannot eliminate it entirely. Increasing the austenitization temperature has the same effect. Austenitizing parameters have no significant effect on carbides volume fraction. The kinetics ofaustempering is faster in higher nodule counts and subsequently better mechanical properties including higher ductility, strength and toughness have been observed for all austempering conditions studied.

An efficient,convenient and environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of novel 3-oxo-3Hbenzo[a]pyrano[2.3-c]phenazine-l-carboxylate and 3-（5-hydroxybenzo[a]phenazin-6-yl） acrylate derivatives has been developed by domino three-component condensation reaction between 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione,benzene-1,2-diamines and acetylenic esters in the presence of a catalytic amount of DABCO as an expedient,eco-friendly and reusable base catalyst in *** green process produces biologically and pharmacologically significant heterocycles in a one-pot single operation and offers considerable advantages such as：operational simplicity,short reaction time,high yields,reusability of catalyst,absence of any tedious workup or purification and avoids hazardous reagents/solvents.

Powder charges of micron-size Ni and Al2O3were utilized to deposit nano-structured Ni-Al2O3composite coatings on analuminum plate fixed at the top end of a milling vial using a planetary ball *** coatings were fabricated using powdermixtures with a wide range of Ni/Al2O3mass ratio varying from1:1to plain ***,SEm and TEm techniques were employed tostudy the structural characteristics of the *** was found that the composition of the starting mixture strongly affects the Al2O3content and the microstructure of the final *** containing higher contents of Al2O3yield higher volume fractions of theAl2O3particles in the *** Ni-Al2O3composite coatings with about50%of Al2O3particles were successfully deposited,well-compacted and free of cracks and/or voids coatings included less than20%(volume fraction)of Al2O3particles which weredeposited from powder mixtures with Ni/Al2O3mass ratios of4:1or ***,mechanical and metallurgical bondings arethe main mechanisms of the adhesion of the coating to the Al ***,functionally graded composite coatings withnoticeable compaction and integrity were produced by deposition of two separate layers under identical coating conditions.

This paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. The influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. To depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAm).The effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the Schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the Schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.
