Wear dependent virtual flow rate sensor for progressing cavity pumps with deformable stator

This contribution presents a novel wear dependent virtual flow rate sensor for single stage single lobe progressing cavity pumps. We study the wear-induced material loss of the pump components and the impact of this material loss on the volumetric efficiency. The results are combined with an established backflow model to implement a backflow calculation procedure that is adaptive to wear. We use a laboratory test setup with a highly abrasive fluid and operate a pump from new to worn condition to validate our approach. The obtained measurement data show that the presented virtual sensor is capable of calculating the flow rate of a pump being subject to wear during its regular operation.

Pharmacovigilance guidelines for clinical application of Chinese patent medicines for mucosal administration

The group standard Pharmacovigilance guidelines for clinical application of Chinese patent medicines for mucosal administration was released on January 16, 2024, on the national group standards information platform by the Institute of Basic Research in Clinical medicine of China Academy of Chinese medical Sciences and School and Hospital of Stomatology of Peking University, under the centralized management by the China Association of Chinese medicine. The standard number is T / CACm 1563. 6-2024. It aims to propose key elements and specify technical methods for safety monitoring and reporting, signal identification, risk assessment, and risk control based on the Drug administration law of the People ' s Republic of China (revised in 2019), which establishes normative pharmacovigilance guideline of Chinese patent medicine for mucosal administration that is in line with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCm) based on the pharmacovigilance content for clinical application of Chinese patent medicine for mucosal administration. The group standard has been discussed by internal and external experts through multiple rounds of consultation. It serves as a guiding document for stakeholders involved in pharmacovigilance activities, including pharmaceutical license holders, drug manufacturers, medical institutions, research institutes, and pharmaceutical trading enterprises. © 2024 Zhongguo Zhongyi Yanjiuyuan. Simulation of buoyancy-induced turbulent flow from a hot horizontal jet

Experimental visualizations and numerical simulations of a horizontal hot water jet entering cold water into a rectangular storage tank are described. Three different temperature differences and their corresponding Reynolds numbers are considered. Both experimental visualization and numerical computations are carried out for the same flow and thermal conditions. The realizable k-e model is used for modeling the turbulent flow while the buoyancy is modeled using the Boussinesq approximation. Polynomial approximations of the water properties are used to compare with the Boussinesq approximation. Numerical solutions are obtained for unsteady flow while pressure, velocity, temperature and turbulence distributions inside the water tank as well as the froude number are analyzed. The experimental visualizations are performed at intervals of five seconds for all different cases. The simulated results are compared with the visualized results, and both of them show the stratification phenomena and buoyancy force effects due to temperature difference and density variation. After certain times, depending on the case condition, the flow tends to reach a steady state.

BACKGROUND Undernutrition is a crucial cause of morbidity and mortality among children in low-or middle-income countries(LmICs).A better understanding of maternal general healthy nutrition knowledge,as well as misbeliefs,is highly essential,especially in such *** the current era of infodemics,it is very strenuous for mothers to select not only the right source for maternal nutrition information but the correct information as *** To assess maternal healthy nutritional knowledge and nutrition-related misbeliefs and misinformation in an LmIC,and to determine the sources of such information and their assessment *** This cross-sectional analytical observational study enrolled 5148 randomly selected Egyptian mothers who had one or more children less than 15 years *** data were collected through online questionnaire forms:One was for the general nutrition knowledge assessment,and the other was for the nutritional myth *** of information and ways of evaluating internet sources using the Currency,Relevance,Authority,Accuracy,and Purpose test were additionally *** The mean general nutrition knowledge score was 29±9,with a percent score of 70.8%±12.1%(total score:41).The median myth score was 9(interquartile range:6,12;total score:18).The primary sources of nutrition knowledge for the enrolled mothers were social media platforms(55%).Half of the mothers managed information for currency and authority,except for considering the author's contact *** than 60%regularly checked information for accuracy and *** mothers with significant nutrition knowledge checked periodically for the author's contact information(P=0.012).The nutrition myth score was significantly lower among mothers who periodically checked the evidence of the information(P=0.016).mothers dependent on their healthcare providers as the primary source of their general nutritional knowledge were less likely to hold myths by 13%(P=0.044).However,usi

Predicting grain size-dependent superplastic properties in friction stir processed ZK30 magnesium alloy with machine learning methods

The aim of this work is to predict,for the first time,the high temperature flow stress dependency with the grain size and the underlaid deformation mechanism using two machine learning models,random.f.rest(Rf)and artificial neural network(ANN).With that purpose,a ZK30 magnesium alloy was friction stir processed(fSP)using three different severe conditions to obtain fine grain microstructures(with average grain sizes between 2 and 3μm)prone to extensive superplastic *** three friction stir processed samples clearly deformed by grain boundary sliding(GBS)deformation mechanism at high *** maximum elongations to failure,well over 400% at high strain rate of 10^(-2)s^(-1),were reached at 400℃ in the material with coarsest grain size of 2.8μm,and at 300℃ for the finest grain size of 2μ***,the superplastic response decreased at 350℃ and 400℃ due to thermal instabilities and grain coarsening,which makes it difficult to assess the operative deformation mechanism at such *** work highlights that the machine learning models considered,especially the ANN model with higher accuracy in predicting flow stress values,allow determining adequately the superplastic creep behavior including other possible grain size scenarios.
