Repeated exposure of fluazinam fungicides affects gene expression profiles yet carries no costs on a nontarget pest

Fungicides are used to control pathogenic fungi of crop species,but they have also been shown to alter behavioral,life history and fitness related traits of nontarget ***,we tested the fungicide effects on feeding behavior,survival and physiology of the nontarget pest insect,the Colorado potato beetle(CPB)(Leptinotarsa decemlineata).Feeding behavior was studied by a choice test of adult beetles,which were allowed to choose between a control and a fungicide(fluazinam)treated potato *** survival was recorded after 24 and 72 h exposure to control and fungicide-treated leaves with 2 different *** adults did not show fungicide avoidance ***,survival of the larvae was not affected by the exposure to ***,to understand the effects of fungicides at the physiological level(gene expression),we tested whether the larval exposure to fungicide alter the expression of 5 metabolic pathway and stress associated *** concentration and 72-h exposure caused upregulation of 1 cytochrome P450(CYP9Z14v2)and 1 insecticide resistance gene(Ldace1),whereas metabolic detoxification gene(Ugt1)was *** 24-h exposure,highest concentration caused downregulation of another common detoxification gene(Gs),while both exposure times to lowest concentration caused upregulation of the Hsp70 stress tolerance *** these overall effects,there was a considerable amount of variation among different families in the gene expression *** though the behavioral effects of the fungicide treatments were minor,the expression level differences of the studied genes indicate changes on the metabolic detoxifications and stress-related pathways.

Three dimensional(3D)echocardiogram enables cardiologists to visua-lize suspicious cardiac structures in *** recent years,this three-dimensional echocardiogram carries important clinical value in virtual surgical ***,this 3D echocardiogram involves a trade-off difficulty between accu-racy and efficient computation in clinical *** paper presents a novel Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method for the recon-struction of echocardiogram *** proposed method consists of two main steps:multiplanar volumetric imaging and 3D volume *** the crea-tion of multiplanar volumetric imaging,two-dimensional(2D)image pixels are mapped into voxels of the volumetric *** the obtained slices are discontin-uous,there are some missing voxels in the volume *** restore the structural and textural information of 3D ultrasound volume,the proposed method creates a volume pyramid in parallel with theflip directional texture ***,the nearest neighbors of missing voxels in the multiplanar volumetric imaging are identified by 3D ANN(Approximate Nearest Neighbor)patch matching ***,aflip directional texture pyramid is proposed and aggregated with distance in patch matching tofind out the most similar *** the recon-struction step,structural and textural information obtained from differentflip angle directions can reconstruct 3D volume well with the desired ***-pared with existing 3D reconstruction methods,the proposed Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method provides superior performance for the mean peak signal-to-noise ratio(40.538 for the proposed method I and 39.626 for the proposed method II).Experimental results performed on the cardi-ac datasets demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method for the reconstruc-tion of echocardiogram images.

Termite mounds are conventionally surmised as one of the best bio-geological indicator for groundwater occurrence in places where they *** magnetic survey was carried out to prove the assumption about termite mounds as an important indicator for groundwater *** of 18 Termite mounds were mapped using handheld GPS to identify the suitable trend for magnetic *** considering all the criteria such as power lines,fences and fracture system,termite mound 2,12 and 18 were selected in the NNE-SSW trend,and the ground magnetic survey was conducted in ESE-WNW direction which is perpendicular to the trend of the termite mounds using Proton Precession ***,99 samples were collected with 5 m sampling interval and 50 m profile interval over an area of 22500 *** magnetic values varied from–7363 nT to 898 nT with the mean of–331 *** map of reduction to Equator indicates the presence of NNE-SSW and WNW-ESE magnetic *** signal map designated the presence of magnetic low in the WNW-ESE direction which coincides spatially with the magnetic *** magnetic profile lines have also brought to light the structurally weak *** body depth range was estimated using power spectrum and Euler method which are from 120 m to 40 m andm to>100 m,*** present study appreciably brings out the spatial relationship between the termite mounds and the *** confirms the assertion with regard to termite mounds as an effective tool for groundwater exploration.

In recent years,carbon quantum dots(CQDs)have been of great enthrallment in the fluorescent probe *** precursors with interesting physicochemical properties may be derived from natural *** this research,for the first time,coconut water has been used as a source of carbon to prepare blue fluorescent CQDs without any modification and *** preparation of CQDs is very simple and cost-effective,when compared with other conventional *** reaction parameters temperature and pH were varied to obtain monodispersed spherical CQDs with an average grain size of ∼5 *** CQDs exhibit blue emission with a wavelength of 487 nm with an excitation wavelength of 390 nm and are used for Fe^(3+) ions ***^(3+) ions have been observed to quench the fluorescence intensity of the CQDs than other heavy *** the presence of Fe^(3+) ions,the fluorescent CQDs are quenched due to the interaction of CQDs and Fe^(3+) ions.A spectroscopic result shows that Fe^(3+) ions can be observed within a concentration of 0-700μm,as well as the detection limit is 0.30μ*** CQDs provide a unique pathway for potential application in the environmental monitoring of heavy metal ions.
