Innovative dispersion techniques of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)through mechanical stirring and ultrasonication:Impact on morphological,mechanical,and thermal properties of epoxy nanocomposites

Graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)have attracted tremendous interest due to their unique properties and bonding *** study focuses on the effect of GNP dispersion on the mechanical,thermal,and morphological behavior of GNP/epoxy *** study aims to understand how the dispersion of GNPs affects the properties of epoxy nanocomposite and to identify the best dispersion approach for improving mechanical performance.A solvent mixing technique that includes mechanical stirring and ultrasonication was used for producing the *** transform infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the interaction between GNPs and the epoxy *** measurements of density and moisture content were used to confirm that GNPs were successfully incorporated into the *** findings showed that GNPs are successfully dispersed in the epoxy matrix by combining mechanical stirring and ultrasonication in a single step,producing well-dispersed nanocomposites with improved mechanical ***,the nanocomposites at a low GNP loading of 0.1 wt%,demonstrate superior mechanical strength,as shown by increased tensile properties,including improved Young's modulus(1.86 GPa),strength(57.31 mPa),and elongation at break(4.98).The nanocomposite with 0.25 wt%GNP loading performs better,according to the viscoelastic analysis and flexural properties(113.18 mPa).Except for the nanocomposite with a 0.5 wt%GNP loading,which has a higher thermal breakdown temperature,the thermal characteristics do not significantly *** effective dispersion of GNPs in the epoxy matrix and low agglomeration is confirmed by the morphological *** findings help with filler selection and identifying the best dispersion approach,which improves mechanical *** effective integration of GNPs and their interaction with the epoxy matrix provides the doorway for additional investigation and the development of sophisticated *** fiel

Dosimetry calculations of involved and noninvolved organs in proton therapy of liver cancer:a simulation study

Effect of thinning on growth of Acer velutinum Boiss. in northern forests of Iran

It has become necessary to develop stands of fast growing endemic species in the Caspian forests because of their reduction in area and the domestic demand of timber processing industries in Iran. Acer velutinum, an endemic species in Iran, is often planted in monocultures or in a mixture with other endemic species. Our study was conducted on A. velutinum planted in Berenjestanak(control plots) and Chaibagh(thinned plots) in northern Iran in 1991. A randomized sampling method with circular sampling plots of 100 m2was used to measure diameter and height of trees. The results show that the diameter of trees in thinned stands was 19.98 cm and in the control stands 13.84 cm, while the mean heights were 18.33 and 17.46 m, respectively. The mean basal area in thinned stands was 30.74 m2and in the control 15.70 m2per ha. The results of Student’s t tests indicate that there are significant differences at a probability level of 99.9% between the two variously treated stands in diameter(d), height(h), basal area, volume growth and the stability coefficient. We conclude that tending operations with suitable intensity in different time periods are recommended to obtain stable stands.

Transesterification Reaction of Dimethyl Terephthalate by 2-Ethylhexanol in the Presence of Heterogeneous Catalysts under Solvent-free Condition

In this study, the synthesis of bis-（2-ethylhexyl） terephthalate, via the transesterification reaction of dimethyl terephthalate （DmT） by 2-ethylhexanol in the presence of different heterogeneous catalysts, such as Pb（OAc）2·3H2O, Cd（OAc）2·2H2O, Zn（OAc）2·2H2O, Hg（OAc）2·Ca（OAc）2·H2O, Cu（OAc）2·H2O, NaOAc, CaCO3, CaO, ZnSO4·7H2O, and sulfated zirconia, has been investigated. The reactivity of the catalysts in the reaction progress has been studied and compared. It was found that, hydrated cadmium acetate and sulfated zirconia were reactive catalysts to this reaction. The extent of transesterification of methyl ester groups reached up to 93% and 85.6% using these catalysts, respectively.

Effect of post-weld heat treatment on joint properties of dissimilar friction stir welded 2024-T4 and 7075-T6 aluminum alloys

The effect of post-weld heat treatment on dissimilar friction stir welded AA7075 and AA2024 joints was studied. After welding in constant parameters, solution heat treatment and various aging treatments were given to the welded joints. microstructural and phase characterizations were done using optical microscope, SEm, FE-SEm, XRD and EDS techniques. Finally, mechanical properties of post-weld heat treated joints were evaluated and compared with as-welded joints. Results show that both 2024-T6 and 7075-T6 post-weld heat treatment procedures considerably improve the mechanical strength of the welded joint, with higher strength obtained for the 7075-T6 procedure, in comparison with the as-welded joint. This is explained by the formation of fine precipitates during the aging process, despite the abnormal grain growth. Fracture occurs at the interface between thermo-mechanical affected zone（TmAZ） and heat affected zone（HAZ） on the retreating side（AA7075） of as-welded joint, while by applying post-weld heat treatment fracture location shifts towards the stir zone（SZ） of the welded joint. Also, for post-weld heat treated samples, fracture surface is predominantly inter-granular, while in as-weld joint, fracture surface is mostly trans-granular. This is explained by dissolution and coarsening of precipitates within grains in post-weld heat treated joints.

BACKGROUND Although breast milk is ideal for newborns,in some cases,it is replaced with cow’s milk,which contains proteins that increase the risk of cow’s milk protein allergy(CmPA).AIm To evaluate CmPA prevalence in Bahrain and compare clinical characteristics of children with immunoglobulin E(IgE)-and non-IgE-mediated *** This retrospective cohort study examined children with CmPA diagnosed at the pediatric gastroenterology outpatient clinic of the Salmaniya medical Complex,Bahrain,between 2014 and 2022,and assessed CmPA *** presentations,laboratory findings,dietary modifications,and outcomes were compared between children with IgE-mediated and non-IgE-mediated *** variables were compared using Fisher’s exact test or Pearson’sχ2 test,whereas continuous variables were compared using Student’s t-test or the mann-Whitney U *** Of 8332 patients,6022(72.3%)adhered to their *** them,618(10.3%)were suggested of having CmPA and 595(96.3%)were included;CmPA prevalence was 2%.most patients were Bahraini(93.8%)and males(55.3%).Non-IgE-mediated type accounted for 77.3%cases and IgE-mediated type,22.7%.IgE-mediated CmPA presented more in boys(P=0.030),and later in life(5.1 months±4.5 months vs 4.2 months±4.2 months,P=0.016,95%CI:0.08-1.73),had more associated diseases(Pmore cutaneous(P=0.024)and respiratory(P=0.003)manifestations,severe symptoms[rash/dry skin(P=0.031),facial swelling/angioedema(P=0.003),failure to thrive(P=0.013),apparent life-threatening event(Pmediated *** patients were exclusively fed cow milk formula(50.3%).The amino acid-based formula(AAF)was most prescribed(60.5%)with no difference between the two types(P=0.173).Although breastfeeding was recommended to 49.6%,only 8.2%were exclusively ***-mediated CmPA was associated with a longer follow-up duration than non-IgE-mediated CmPA(17.3 months±14.0 mo
