The design and application of morphing systems are ongoing issues compelling the aviation *** Clean Sky-program represents the most significant aeronautical research ever launched in Europe on advanced technologies for greening next-generation *** primary purpose of the program is to develop new concepts aimed at decreasing the effects of aviation on the environment,increasing reliability,and promoting eco-friendly *** ambitions are pursued through research on enabling technologies fostering noise and gas emissions reduction,mainly by improving aircraft aerodynamic *** the Clean Sky framework,a multimodal morphing flap device was designed based on tight industrial requirements and tailored for large civil aircraft *** flap is deployed in one unique setting,and its cross section is morphed differently in take-off and landing to get the necessary extra lift for the specific flight ***,during the cruise,the tip of the flap is deflected for load control and induced drag *** manufacturing the first flap prototype,a high-speed(ma=0.3),large-scale test campaign(geometric scale factor 1:3)was deemed necessary to validate the performance improvements brought by this novel system at the aircraft *** the other hand,the geometrical scaling of the flap prototype was considered impracticable due to the unscalability of the embedded mechanisms and actuators for shape ***,a new architecture was conceived for the flap model to comply with the scaled dimensions requirements,withstand the relevant loads expected during the wind tunnel tests and emulate the shape transition capabilities of the true-scale *** strategies were developed to effectively morph the model during wind tunnel tests while ensuring the robustness of each morphed configuration and maintaining adequate stiffness levels to prevent undesirable deviations from the intended aerodynamic ***,

Cross-shore sediment transport rate exposed to waves is very important for coastal morphology, the design of marine structures such as seawalls, jetties, breakwaters etc, and the prevention of coastal erosion and accretion due to onoff shore sediment transportation. In the present study, the experiments on cross-shore sediment transport are carried out in a laboratory wave channel with initial beach slopes of 1/8, 1/10 and 1/15. By using the regular waves with different deep-water wave steepnesses generated by a pedal-type wave generator, the geometrical characteristics of beach profiles under storm conditions and the parameters affecting on-off shore sediment transport are investigated for the beach materials with medium diameters of d50=0.25, 0.32, 0.45, 0.62 and 0.80 mm. The offshore bar geometric characteristics are the horizontal distances from the shoreline to the bar beginning （Xb）, crest （Xt）, and ending （Xs） points, the depth from the bar crest to the still water level （ht）, and the bar volume （Vbar）. The experimental results have indicated that when the deep-water steepness （Ha/L0） increased, the net movement to seaside increased. With the increasing wave steepness, the bars moved to widen herewith the vertical distances from still water level to the bar beginning （Xb）, crest （Xt） and ending （Xs） points and the horizontal distances from the coast line to the bar beginning, crest and ending points increased. It was also shown from experimental results that the horizontal distances from the bar beginning and ending points to the coast line increased with the decrease of the beach slope. The experimental results obtained from this study are compared with previous experimental work and found to be of the same magnitude as the experimental measurements and followed the expected basic trend.

monoclinic yttrium tantalate (m'-YTaO4,m'-YTO),and two different kinds of yttrium niobium-tantalate (m'-YTao.85Nbo.15O4 (m'-YTNO) and Eu3+ doped m'-YTao.85Nbo.15O4 (m'-YTNO∶Eu3+)) were produced by sol-gel method and grown on single crystalline Si (100) substrate by spin coating *** properties and thermal behaviours of the films were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD),atomic force microscopy (AFm),scanning electron microscopy (SEm),and thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA).Systematic Steady-state photoluminescence and lifetime measurements in a series of yttrium niobium-tantalate with varying amounts of Eu3+ were *** photoluminescence spectra of the films exhibited strong blue (380-400 nm) and red (614 nm) emissions upon ultraviolet *** intensities were strongly dependent on the host lattice composition and film morphology.1.5％ Eu3+ doped films exhibited the brightest luminescence and long lifetime extending to 1.22 ms when excited at 254 *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first attempt in the production of m'-YTO,m'-YTNO,and m'-YTNO∶Eu3+ films on single crystalline Si (100) substrate via sol-gel spin coating.

Ammonia borane(NH_(3)BH_(3))is a reducing agent,able to trap and convert carbon *** the present work,we used a reactive solid consisting of a mixture of 90 wt.%of NH_(3)BH_(3)and 10 wt.%of palladium chloride,because the mixture reacts in a fast and exothermic way while releasing H2 and generating catalytic *** took advantage of such reactivity to trap and convert CO_(2)(7 bar),knowing besides that Pd0 is a CO_(2)hydrogenation *** operation(*** 1)was effective:BNH polymers,and B−O,C=O,C−O,and C−H bonds(like in BOCH_(3)and BOOCH groups)were *** then(in stage 2)pyrolyzed the as-obtained solid at 1250℃ and washed it with *** doing so,we isolated cyclotriboric acid H_(3)B3O6(stemming from B2O3 formed at 1250℃),hexagonal boron nitride,and graphitic *** conclusion,the stage 1 showed that CO_(2)can be‘trapped’and converted,resulting in the formation of BOCH_(3)and BOOCH groups(possible sources of methanol and formic acid),and the stage 2 showed that CO_(2)transforms into graphitic carbon.

In this paper,an irregular displacement-based lensless wide-field microscopy imaging platform is presented by combining digital in-line holography and computational pixel super-resolution using multi-frame *** samples are illuminated by a nearly coherent illumination system,where the hologram shadows are projected into a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor-based imaging *** increase the resolution,a multi-frame pixel resolution approach is employed to produce a single holographic image from multiple frame observations of the scene,with small planar *** are resolved by a hybrid approach:(i)alignment of the LR images by a fast feature-based registration method,and(ii)fine adjustment of the sub-pixel information using a continuous optimization approach designed to find the global optimum *** method for phase-retrieval is applied to decode the signal and reconstruct the morphological details of the analyzed *** presented approach was evaluated with various biological samples including sperm and platelets,whose dimensions are in the order of a few *** obtained results demonstrate a spatial resolution of 1.55 μm on a field-of-view ofmm^(2).

Tuberculous Spondylitis: Clinical Features of 36 Patients

We report 36 cases of spinal tuberculosis who were evaluated at the Internal medicine Department of Istanbul University between January 1990 and march 2016. Twelve cases were accompanied by active pulmonary tuberculosis while ten patients had a previous history of tuberculosis. Eight patients had diabetes mellitus;six patients were on chronic steroid treatment with a mean dose of 24 mg/day while two patients used azathioprine and methotrexate. The dominant symptom was back pain that was present in 64% of the subjects followed by low grade fever (42%), and malaise (38%). Lytic and destructive lesions were noted in various vertebrae in all of the cases while four patients had spinal compression, and two patients had iliopsoas abscess. The preliminary diagnosis was myeloproliferative disease with vertebral metastasis in eight patients. Tuberculin test was over 15 mm in 20 patients (58.8%) while ERS and Creactive protein were highly elevated in 78%, and 84% of the patients. Diagnosis of tuberculosis was confirmed by culture of aspirated material from intervertebral disc space, collection under CT guidance, sputum or bronchial lavage, and by retrospective anti-tuberculous treatment response. mRI revealed compatible findings with spinal tuberculosis in 30 (80%) patients. In endemic countries, tuberculous spondilitis should be considered in immunosuppressed patients with back pain. Current or past tuberculosis infection is not a reliable indicator for Pott’s disease in these patients. Laboratory findings were not usually useful to support the diagnosis. The low sensitivity of the tuberculin test may lead to an erronous diagnosis. Sensitivity of vertebral radiography and CT was low. mRI was the most useful radiologic investigation for the diagnosis of spinal tuberculosis. Tuberculosis of the spine is a diagnostic impasse notably in immunodeficient patients for the clinician.

目的:比较糖尿病视网膜病变组与对照组数据,以研究高密度脂蛋白-3(HDL_3)、NO_x和总抗氧化状态之间的关系。方法:前瞻性病例对照研究。106例受试者分为3组,84例2型糖尿病有或无视网膜病变患者,对照组为22例正常人。患者均行血清高密度脂蛋白-3的浓度检测和血清NO_x水平测定。用铁还原法(FRAP)测量血浆总抗氧化能力。结果:糖尿病患者(Dm)空腹血糖、糖化血红蛋白、甘油三酯显著高于对照组。正常人中HDL_3水平为14.4(12.0)mg/dL,糖尿病视网膜病变患者为18.1(12.6)mg/dL,糖尿病无视网膜病变患者为14.0(12.5)mg/dL,组间差异无统计学意义(P=0.262)。糖尿病患者FRAP水平低于对照组(P=0.003),但糖尿病视网膜病变组与非糖尿病视网膜病变组之间其差异无统计学意义。结论:研究发现:2型糖尿病视网膜病变患者、糖尿病无视网膜病变患者以及对照组间HDL和HDL_3水平无明显不同。HDL_3可能无法预测糖尿病视网膜病变患者的患病风险。糖尿病患者中血清NO_x水平较高,FRAP水平较低。

Assessment of Warm and Cold Ischemia on Functions of the Operated Kidney with <sup>99m</sup>Tc-DmSA in Renal masses: A Prospective and Randomized Study

Objective: To examine the effect of warm and cold ischemia on functions of the operated kidney in cases with a normal contralateral kidney undergoing nephron sparing surgery. methods: This study enrolled 40 patients with a normal contralateral kidney and without a renal function threatening risk factor, who were operated with NSS. The patients were randomized at admission. They were divided into 2 equal groups as warm and cold ischemia. An ice application for 10 minutes was done to cold ischemia group after clamping renal artery. Renal functions were evaluated with Technesium-99m-Dimercaptosuccinic Acid (DmSA) and serum creatinine at the preoperative and postoperative (day 1, day 15, month 6, and month 12) period. Statistical analysis was done with mann Whitney U test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, and Fredman test. A p value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of age, body mass index, ischemia time, tumor size, amount of hemorrhage, and procedure time. Both groups had a significantly higher DmSA uptake at the preoperative period compared with the postoperative period (postoperative day 1, day 15, month 6, and month 12) (p 0.001). However, both groups had similar DmSA uptake results at the postoperative period. Preoperative and postoperative creatinine levels were not significantly different from each other in both groups. Conclusion: Based on tumor localization, nephron sparing surgery without use of superficial cooling appears as a viable option for small renal masses.
