＜正＞ This paper gives a new solution for controlling boost converter that exhibits Inverse Response （IR） due to the presence of Right Hand Side （RHS） Zero. The RHS Zero ηimposes a limit on the attainable closed-loop bandwidth of the controlled converter thereby reducing the controller gain Kc. In this paper a comparative study is made by introducing different controller tuning methods such as Internal model Control （ImC）, Synthesis, Equating Co-efficient and Ziegler-Nichol’s （Z-N）techniques applicable to voltage control of dc-dc boost converter. The paper also presents closed loop simulation results of the converter for load regulation and line fluctuation. The results reveal that, synthesis method gives superior performance in terms of lowest ISE value.

Introduction: This study investigates the Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Steel and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforced Slab Incorporating Alccofine and m-sand. Objective: Specific objectives include evaluating the mechanical properties and structural behaviour of steel and GFRP-reinforced one-way slabs and comparing experimental and theoretical predictions. methods: Four different mix proportions were arrived at, comprising both conventional concrete and Alccofine-based concrete. In each formulation, a combination of normal river sand and m-sand was utilized. Results: Concrete with Alccofine exhibits superior mechanical properties, while m-sand incorporation minimally affects strength but reduces reliance on natural sand. GFRP-reinforced slabs display distinct brittle behaviour with significant deflections post-cracking, contrasting steel-reinforced slabs’ gradual, ductile failure. Discrepancies between experimental data and design recommendations underscore the need for guideline refinement. Conclusion: Alccofine and m-sand enhance concrete properties, but reinforcement type significantly influences slab behaviour. GFRP-reinforced slabs, though exhibiting lower values than steel, offer advantages in harsh environments, warranting further optimization.

mg–Y–Nd alloy(WE43C or Elektron 43)is a heat treatable magnesium wrought alloy that can be used up to 250 ℃ for aerospace *** alloy has excellent mechanical properties(UTS:up to 345 mPa at room temperature)and improved corrosion *** passivation studies were conducted on this alloy under different heat treatment conditions in 0.1 m NaOH solution with the addition of chloride from 0 to 1000 *** passive potential range typically extended to more than 1.5 VAg/*** transpassive potential was not dependent on the heat treatment condition of the alloy when the chloride concentration increased up to 500 ***,pitting protection potential varied with the heat treatment condition when the chloride addition was 500 ppm or *** specimen surface was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEm),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and Raman spectroscopy to understand the passivation behavior of this *** passivated surface of the WE43C specimens indicated that the surface layer consisted of mgO,mg(OH)_(2),and rare earth oxide phases,and the heat treatment conditions did not significantly affect the composition of the surface film.

Evaluation of hydrogeochemical characteristics and the impact of weathering in seepage water collected within the sedimentary formation

A study was conducted by collecting eight seepage water samples that drain through the sedimentary rocks, mainly sandstone and shale, to evaluate the hydro- geochemical characteristics. The collected samples were analyzed for physico-chemical parameters using standard procedures. Three water types were identified in the Piper plot and the hydrogeochemical evolution starts from a Ca- C1 facies （type 1） via mixed Ca-mg-C1 and Ca-Na-HCO3 facies （type 2） to Na-C1 facies （type 3）. Increasing trend of electrical conductivity （EC） values were observed from type 1 water to type 3 water. Lower ionic concentrations with an average EC value of 35.7 kts/cm in Ca-C1 facies indicate the recharge water by monsoonal rainfall, and ion exchange/weathering process is reflected in the mixing zone. Higher ionic concentration with an average EC value of 399 kts/cm is noted in Na-C1 facies, which indicates the ion exchange during water-rock interaction. Higher log pCO2 values are also found in this facies, revealing the longer residence time of seepage water in the rock matrix, which release more ions into the water. The relative mobility of elements during weathering suggest that the order of mobility in both sandstone and shale is Na 〉 Ca 〉 mg 〉 K. It was observed that thehydrogeochemistry of seepage water is mainly controlled by the bedrock geology.

Hard concrete roofs cause excessive heat gain impacting thermal comfort in *** gardens promoting greening at higher levels of built structures are seen as one of the key mitigating strategies for modifying building microclimate and improving urban *** have undertaken a research project to quantitatively assess the value of a terrace garden in a residential scale.A garden patch of about 15 m 2 in area,a typical size available in most urban terraces is *** temperatures are measured over a period of 15 months between July 2018 to January 2020 using four thermocouple sensors,placed within and outside the garden bed,on and below the *** compare the thermal performance of the terrace garden across years,seasons,time of the day,presence or absence of garden bed and type and height of *** surface temperature data was found to correlate well with the ambient air temperature *** results show that the terrace garden moderates and stabilises the ceiling temperatures and reduces it by about 2-3°C in winter months and 5-7°C in hot *** garden also provided nearly 400 g of fresh monthly vegetable harvest per m 2 of ***,the cooling impact of the terrace garden with natural,tall,wild vegetation is higher as compared to planted *** study demonstrates a sustainable approach to terrace garden design at residential scale through quantified dual benefits of temperature control within buildings and urban farming.

Colon cancer is the third major cause of cancer deaths,accounting for about 8%in terms of mortality *** present study aims to explore the effect of silencing Astrocyte Elevated Gene-1(AEG-1),a metastasis mediating factor,and how it interacts with Exostosin-1(EXT-1)protein to inhibit the proliferative and invasive potential in colon cancer *** siRNA transfection was performed using AEG-1 siRNA in SW480 and SW620 colon cancer cell lines,and the expression levels of mRNA and protein were analyzed by Real-time PCR and Immunofluorescence.A simple bioinformatics approach was carried out to identify the possible interactions between AEG-1 and EXT-1 using Easy Networks and Pathway Commons *** survival and clonal efficiency were determined using Cell Counting Kit-8 assay and clonogenic assay,apoptosis using flow cytometry analysis,migration and invasion using scratch and Transwell assays,*** siRNA transfection significantly suppressed the expression of AEG-1 in mRNA and protein levels on SW480 and SW620 colon cancer *** our results,we found that EXT-1 mRNA and protein level was significantly upregulated in AEG-1 siRNA transfected ***,treatment with AEG-1 siRNA inhibited the proliferation,clonogenic ability,migration,and invasion and also induced *** the bioinformatic approach,our data analyses pointed towards the crosstalk between AEG-1 and EXT-1 mediated through Patched-1(PTCH-1)*** current results demonstrated that silencing AEG-1 can restrain cell proliferation,migration,and invasion,ultimately leading to *** AEG-1 siRNA transfected cells,PTCH-1 activity might be modulated by several genes and,in turn,affects the EXT-1 ***,these observations not only provide insight into the interplay between AEG-1 and EXT-1 but also suggest that AEG-1 may represent a possible candidate therapeutic target through interaction with EXT-1 in colon cancer.

A hydrochemical approach to estimate mountain front recharge in an aquifer system in Tamilnadu, India

mountain-front recharge(mFR) is a process of recharging an aquifer by infiltration of surface flow from streams and adjacent basins in a mountain block and along a mountain front(mF). This is the first attempt in India to estimate mFR along the foothills of Courtallam using hydrogeochemistry and geostatistical tools. The estimation of mFR has been carried out by collecting groundwater samples along the foothills of Courtallam. Collected water samples were analyzed for major cations and anions using standard procedures. Hydrogeochemical facies show the existence of four water types in this region. Calcium-rich water derived from gneissic rock terrain indicates significant recharge from higher elevation. Log p CO_2 and ionic strength of the samples were also calculated to identify the geochemical process. majority of the collected samples have sodium-rich water and weak ionic strength, which indicate foothill recharge and low residence time. Silicate and carbonate weathering have an equal interplay along the foothills with a relatively large fraction of mg from the mF. The spatial diagrams of three factors show that the southern part of the study area is dominated by both weathering and anthropogenic processes, whereas the northern part is dominated by both leaching and weathering processes. Thus, the dominant weathering process represented by the second factor indicates the large recharge process along the foothills.
