The built environment correlates of objectively measured physical activity in Norwegian adults:A cross-sectional study

Background: Built environments that are designed to provide accessible, attractive, and convenient locales promote regular physical activity(PA).Norway has great variability in its geographic, natural, and built environment features. Urban areas have well-developed built environment features, whereas the rural areas are less walkable and this may influence the mode of transport. In general, active transport is more common in urban centers. Further, public transportation is more developed in urban areas, whereas motorized transport may be more widespread in the rural areas. Despite this, in Sogn & Fjordane, a rural county in western Norway, high PA levels are frequently observed. Thus, the aims of this study were to(1) explore perceived built environment features and characterize their associations with objectively measured PA levels in Norwegian adults and(2) explore the differences in these correlates between Sogn & Fjordane and the rest of Norway.methods: In this cross-sectional study, participants used questionnaires to rate perceptions of their built environments, and their PA was objectively measured for 7 consecutive days using the Acti Graph GT1 m accelerometer. There were 972 Norwegian adults who were included in the study. The average age was 46.9 ± 6.5 years and 43.8% of participants were men. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression.Results: Total PA and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(mVPA) were both associated with perceived walkability, the community perception score, and active transport for commuting(all p ≤ 0.004). We also observed geographic-area-specific associations: the community perception score was negatively associated with total PA and mVPA in the rest of Norway(p ≤ 0.012) but not in Sogn & Fjordane. Nitrite,a novel method to decrease ischemia/reperfusion injury in the rat liver

AIm:To investigate whether nitrite administered prior to ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)reduces liver injury.mETHODS:Thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized to 3 groups,including sham operated(n=8),45-min segmental ischemia of the left liver lobe(IR,n=14)and ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)preceded by the administration of 480 nmol of nitrite(n=14).Serum transaminases were measured after 4 h of reperfusion.Liver microdialysate(mD)was sampled in 30-min intervals and analyzed for glucose,lactate,pyruvate and glycerol as well as the total nitrite and nitrate(NOx).The NOx was measured in serum.RESULTS:Aspartate aminotransferase(AST)at the end of reperfusion was higher in the IR group than in the nitrite group(40±6.8μkat/L vs 22±2.6μkat/L,P=0.022).Similarly,alanine aminotransferase(ALT)was also higher in the I/R group than in the nitrite group(34±6μkat vs 14±1.5μkat,P=0.0045).The NOx in mD was significantly higher in the nitrite group than in the I/R group(10.1±2.9μmol/L vs 3.2±0.9μmol/L,P=0.031)after the administration of nitrite.During ischemia,the levels decreased in both groups and then increased again during reperfusion.At the end of reperfusion,there was a tendency towards a higher NOx in the I/R group than in the nitrite group(11.6±0.7μmol/L vs 9.2±1.1μmol/L,P=0.067).Lactate in mD was significantly higher in the IR group than in the nitrite group(3.37±0.18 mmol/L vs 2.8±0.12 mmol/L,P=0.01)during ischemia and the first 30 min of reperfusion.During the same period,glycerol was also higher in the IRI group than in the nitrite group(464±38μmol/L vs 367±31μmol/L,P=0.049).With respect to histology,there were more signs of tissue damage in the I/R group than in the nitrite group,and29%of the animals in the I/R group exhibited necrosis compared with none in the nitrite group.Inducible nitric oxide synthase transcription increased between early ischemia(t=15)and the end of reperfusion in both groups.CONCLUSION:Nitrite administered before liver ischemia in the rat liver reduces anaerobic metabolism and cell necrosis,which

本文对瑞典境内8个位点沉积物中各种来源的汞污染进行了研究,这些位点涵盖了广泛的气候、盐度和沉积物类型。各位点生物群(浮游生物、沉积物生物和鱼类)汞浓度高于附近参考位点的相应生物。决定位点汞污染风险率的主要过程是无机汞向毒性和生物可利用性更高的甲基汞(meHg)的净转化。因此,河鲈(Percafluviatilis)体内汞浓度与沉积物中meHg浓度(pmeHg(4～90ng/g)浓度显著正相关。各位点meHg/Hg比值(表示meHg除以汞浓度的净产量)具有很大差异。比值最大的位点是南部淡水松散纤维沉积物,比值最小的位点是半咸水沉积物和最北部淡水位点坚硬的成矿沉积物。这种分布模式的原因是随着温度、高能有机物(与初级生产力有关)和沉积物孔隙水中中性硫酸汞可获得性的增加,甲基化细菌产生的meHg增加。因此,在评估沉积物汞污染风险时需要考虑这些因素的作用。

N6-methyladenosine(m6A) is a critical regulator in the fate of rnA, but whether and how m6A executes its functions in different tissues remains largely obscure. Here we report downregulation of a crucial m6A reader, YTHDF2, leading to tissue-specific programmed cell deaths(PCDs) upon fluorene-9-bisphenol(BHPF) exposure. Currently, Bisphenol A(BPA) substitutes are widely used in plastic manufacturing.Interrogating eight common BPA substitutes, we detected BHPF in 14% serum samples of pregnant participants. In a zebrafish model, BHPF caused tissue-specific PCDs triggering cardiac and vascular defects.mechanistically, BHPF-mediated downregulation of YTHDF2 reduced YTHDF2-facilitated translation of m6A-gch1 for cardiomyocyte ferroptosis, and decreased YTHDF2-mediated m6A-sting1 decay for caudal vein plexus(CVP) apoptosis. The two distinct YTHDF2-mediated m6A regulations and context-dependent co-expression patterns of gch1/ythdf2 and tnfrsf1a/ythdf2 contributed to YTHDF2-mediated tissue-specific PCDs, uncovering a new layer of PCD regulation. Since BHPF/YTHDF2-medaited PCD defects were also observed in mammals, BHPF exposure represents a potential health threat.

Background:The role of associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy(ALPPS)in comparison to portal vein embolization(PVE)is debated.The aim of this study was to compare successful resection rates(RR)with upfront ALPPS vs.PVE with rescue ALPPS on demand and to compare the hypertrophy of the liver between ALPPS and PVE plus subsequent rescue ALPPS.methods:A retrospective analysis of all patients treated with PVE for colorectal liver metastasis(CRLm)or ALPPS(any diagnosis,rescue ALPPS included)at five Scandinavian university hospitals during the years 2013-2016 was conducted.A Chi-square test and a mann-Whitney U test were used to assess the difference between the groups.A successful RR was defined as liver resection without a 90-day mortality.Results:A total of 189 patients were included.Successful RR was in 84.5%of the patients with ALPPS upfront and in 73.3%of the patients with PVE and rescue ALPPS on demand(P=0.080).The hypertrophy of the future liver remnants(FLRs)with ALPPS upfront was 71%(48-97%)compared to 96%(82-113%)after PVE and rescue ALPPS(P=0.010).Conclusions:Upfront ALPPS offers a somewhat higher successful RR than PVE with rescue ALPPS on demand.The sequential combination of PVE and ALPPS leads to a higher overall degree of hypertrophy than upfront ALPPS.

为了实现缩短出钢时间从而提高碱性氧气转炉(BOF)的生产效率,与熔融分析控制相关的过程如停吹、提枪或倾炉都要避免。为了达到这个目标,建立了一种用于控制BOF过程的新方法。该方法采用了一种新颖的、可在吹炼过程中进行炉渣和钢同时收集的非均相取样器,并应用了为此专门设计的激光分析方法(LIBS)。使用该方法,目标是尽可能快地完成非均相取样器收集的炉渣和钢的分析(Fe,C,P,S等元素)。除了建立非均相临线取样方法外,还建立了一种基于LIBS的特殊分析程序,当分析过程中移动非均相样品时,用于识别来自炉渣和钢的激光光束。与冶金模型相结合,由非均相取样器得来的数据经过处理后,可动态评价精炼进展状况并规定矫正行为,从而实现安全直接的出钢。预期的效益在于减少再吹炼的比率、节省出钢时间(预计每炉能缩短23min),同时延长耐火炉衬的寿命,提高生产产量。

This paper provides an overview of the state of art of reverse logistics and current status of waste management problems with special emphasis on developing countries. Logistics activities have been practiced and played a fundamental role in the global economic development for over 5,000 years. It has then been transformed into different logistics branches and elaborates the emergency of reverse logistics as one of the most important. The paper presents the evolution of logistics into reverse logistics and how it relates to waste management both in the developed and developing world. Reverse logistics is a relatively new phenomenon in the research area which is mainly referring to damaged goods, the take back of products that should be returned to the manufacturers or distributors. Reverse logistics is relatively more practiced in an organized way in the developed world than in the developing countries in that the latter provided less value additions on reversed products.

First genetic linkage map of Lathyrus cicera based on rnA sequencing-derived markers: Key tool for genetic mapping of disease resistance

The Lathyrus cicera transcriptome was analysed in response to rust(Uromyces pisi)infection to develop novel molecular breeding tools with potential for genetic mapping of resistance in this robust orphan legume species.One rnA-seq library each was generated from control and rust-inoculated leaves from two L.cicera genotypes with contrasting quantitative resistance,de novo assembled into contigs and sequence polymorphisms were identified.In toto,19,224 SNPs differentiate the susceptible from the partially resistant genotype’s transcriptome.In addition,we developed and tested 341 expressed E-SSR markers from the contigs,of which 60.7%varied between the two L.cicera genotypes.A first L.cicera linkage map was created using part of the developed markers in a RIL population from the cross of the two genotypes.This map contains 307 markers,covered 724.2 cm and is organised in 7 major and 2 minor linkage groups,with an average mapping interval of 2.4 cm.The genic markers also enabled us to compare their position in L.cicera map with the physical position of the same markers mapped on medicago truncatula genome,highlighting a high macrosyntenic conservation between both species.This study provides a large new set of genic polymorphic molecular markers with potential for mapping rust resistances.It represents the first step towards genomics-assisted precision breeding in L.cicera.
