Nowadays,food security is a global concern and a great scientific ***-industrial by-products can be used as potential ingredients of innovative food products,contributing to solve this societal ***-products of high specialty oils processing,for instance,have remarkable nutritional and organoleptic ***,the partially delipidified almond flour(PDAF)remaining from almond oil extraction,was used as an alternative ingredient in a highly appreciated almond-based cookie(“almendrados”).For comparison purposes,four different“almendrados”formulations(one industrial,two with PDAF,and one with whole almond flour),were compared regarding nutritional composition,vitamin E and fatty acids *** assess the cookie sensory properties,seventy-four consumers evaluated“appearance”,“taste”,“sweetness”,“crunchiness”,“hardness”,“overall quality”using adequate hedonic *** and protein levels showed significant differences among industrial and the other three *** with PDAF presented similar tocopherols and fatty acids to the traditional(more expensive)formulation,besides reaching the highest scores on“appearance”,“sweetness”,“hardness”,“overall quality”and“buying predisposition”***,the incorporation of PDAF might represent an effective way of adding value to an industrial by-product,while providing a pleasant novel cookie formulation.

Transcriptional regulation,determined by the chromatin structure and regulatory elements interacting at pro-moter regions,is a key step in plant responses to environmental ***(NO3-)is a nutrient signal that regulates the expression of hundreds of genes in Arabidopsis ***,we integrate mRNA sequencing,genome-wide RNA polymeraseⅡ(RNPⅡ),chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing,and DNase Sequencing datasets to establish the relationship between RNPⅡoccupancy and chromatin accessibility in response to NO3-treatments in Arabidopsis *** footprinting allowed us to identify in vivo regula-tory elements controlling gene expression in response to ***3--modulated transcription factor(TF)footprints are important for a rapid increase in RNPⅡoccupancy and transcript accumulation over *** mapped key TF regulatory interactions and functionally validated the role of NAP,an NAC-domain containing TF,as a new regulatory factor in *** together,our study provides a comprehensive view of transcriptional networks in response to a nutrient signal in Arabidopsis roots.

Coherent estimates of genetic effects with missing information

Genetic effect estimates for loci detected in quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping experiments depend upon two factors. First, they are parameterizations of the genotypic values determined by the model of genetic effects. Second, they are consequently also affected by the regression method used to estimate the genotypic values from the observed marker genotypes and phenotypes. There are two common causes for marker-genotype data to be incomplete in those experiments—missing marker-genotypes and within-interval mapping. Different regression methods tend to differ in how this missing information is represented and handled. In this communication we explain why the estimates of genetic effects of QTL obtained using standard regression methods are not coherent with the model of genetic effects and indeed show intrinsic inconsistencies when there is incomeplete genotype information. We then describe the interval mapping by imputations (ImI) regression method and prove that it overcomes those problems. A numerical example is used to illustrate the use of ImI and the consequences of using current methods of choice. ImI enables researchers to obtain estimates of genetic effects that are coherent with the model of genetic effects used, despite incomplete genotype information. Furthermore, because ImI allows orthogonal estimation of genetic effects, it shows potential performance advantages for being implemented in QTL mapping tools.

在基岩酸化作业中适当地注入酸是非常重要的，然而大部分酸都进入高渗透层了，而低渗透地层都未得到处理，利用泡沫能使酸转到低渗透地区，但在孔隙介质中泡沫性能的复杂性降低了酸转向效果，Ｂehenna认为，如果在低渗透地层（受堵层）产生或注入泡沫或者由于注入高渗透地层的泡沫不足，注入酸就得不到转向。最近，Ａlvarez等人依据fg^*（流动状态间过渡气体分流量）模型得出的结论：注入低干度的泡沫有利于酸转向，但在注入酸之前，对较高的渗透导要注入较多的泡沫。在这个项目研究中证实了fg^*模型所含的实验结果，说明存在提高酸转向效果的最佳泡沫干度的问题，实验是在一个具有渗透率比值为15的复合岩心（平行岩心）里进行的，岩心是用不同直径的砂粒填充，以此获得渗透率的对比，在实验中用阴离子表面活性剂，对95％到低于40％的泡沫干度进行了评价，所有的实验都是在4．13mPa的压力和室温条件下进行的，所用气体为氢气。

Objective To evaluate the spermicidal activity of Passiflora edulis extract on human spermatozoa. methods Human spermatozoa were incubated with P. edulis extracts and their motility and viability were evaluated; additionally, the cytotoxic effect of the extracts was evaluated by the tetrazolium bromide （mTT） reduction assay. Results The motility and viability were decreased immediately after treatment with a 21% dilution of the supernatant of the extract of P. edulis （P〈0.01）. No cytatoxic effect of the extracts studied was found on proliferation of mDBK and VERO cells. Conclusion These results may open the way for the use of P. edulis as a spermicidal product with less adverse effects.

Cirrhosis is considered a growing cause of morbidity and mortality,which represents a significant public health ***,there is no effective treatment to reverse *** primarily centers on addressing the underlying liver condition,monitoring,and managing portal hypertension-related complications,and evaluating the potential for liver transplantation in cases of decompensated cirrhosis,marked by rapid progression and the emer-gence of complications like variceal bleeding,hepatic encephalopathy,ascites,malnutrition,and ***,a prevalent complication across all disease stages,is often underdiagnosed in cirrhosis due to the complexities of nutritional assessment in patients with fluid retention and/or obesity,despite its crucial impact on *** emphasis has been placed on the collaboration of nutritionists within hepatology and Liver transplant teams to deliver compre-hensive care,a practice that has shown to improve *** review covers appropriate screening and assessment methods for evaluating the nutritional status of this population,diagnostic approaches for malnutrition,and context-specific nutrition *** also discusses evidence-based recommendations for supplementation and physical exercise,both essential elements of the standard care provided to cirrhotic patients.
