The effect of gamma irradiation with different doses(25–75 kGy) on TiO_2 thin films deposited by atomic layer deposition has been studied and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),photoluminescence measurements,ultraviolet–visible(UV–Vis) spectroscopy,and impedance *** XRD results for the TiO_2 films indicate an enhancement of crystallization after irradiation,which can be clearly observed from the increase in the peak intensities upon increasing the gamma irradiation *** UV–Vis spectra demonstrate a decrease in transmittance,and the band gap of the TiO_2 thin films decreases with an increase in the gamma irradiation *** Nyquist plots reveal that the overall charge-transfer resistance increases upon increasing the gamma irradiation *** equivalent circuit,series resistance,contact resistance,and interface capacitance are measured by simulation using Z-view *** present work demonstrates that gamma irradiation-induced defects play a major role in the modification of thestructural,electrical,and optical properties of the TiO_2 thin films.

To maximize energy profit with the participation of electricity,natural gas,and district heating networks in the day-ahead market,stochastic scheduling of energy hubs taking into account the uncertainty of photovoltaic and wind resources,has been carried *** has been done using a new meta-heuristic algorithm,improved artificial rabbits optimization(IARO).In this study,the uncertainty of solar and wind energy sources is modeled using Hang’s two-point estimating method(TPEm).The IARO algorithm is applied to calculate the best capacity of hub energy equipment,such as solar and wind renewable energy sources,combined heat and power(CHP)systems,steamboilers,energy storage,and electric cars in the *** standard ARO algorithmis developed to mimic the foraging behavior of rabbits,and in this work,the algorithm’s effectiveness in avoiding premature convergence is improved by using the dystudynamic inertia weight *** proposed IARO-based scheduling framework’s performance is evaluated against that of traditional ARO,particle swarm optimization(PSO),and salp swarm algorithm(SSA).The findings show that,in comparison to previous approaches,the suggested meta-heuristic scheduling framework based on the IARO has increased energy profit in day-ahead electricity,gas,and heating markets by satisfying the operational and energy hub ***,the results show that TPEm approach dependability consideration decreased hub energy’s profit by 8.995%as compared to deterministic planning.

Background multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children(mIS-C)is a serious health condition that develops from and is linked to coronavirus disease ***-C is considered a multi-organ dysfunction involving cardiac,renal,respiratory,hematologic,gastrointestinal and neurological symptoms and groups of signs and symptoms such as rash or bilateral non-purulent conjunctivitis,hypotension or shock and acute gastrointestinal problems,which require immediate therapeutic intervention to prevent the aggravation of the patient’s health ***-C is relatively new in the field of evidence-based medicine;however,there are several clinical guidelines for good clinical *** every disorder,the guidelines have different ***,based on the current status of the evidence,recommendations have been combined to form a unified guideline for therapeutic *** This paper compares and evaluates the current mIS-C-specific clinical practice guidelines(namely,American Academy of Pediatrics,American College of Rheumatology,Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation,Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters,and the Infectious Diseases Society of America).The compiled literature was then assessed by the authors separately,and an algorithm was proposed for each disorder,taking into consideration the various guidelines proposed for the management of the *** The features of mIS-C patients are unified;this is very helpful in managing its symptoms and decreasing mortality *** addition,recommendations for pharmacological treatment for mIS-C symptoms are formulated after cross-comparison across five different *** This study provides a general interpretation of the results in the context of other evidence and implications for future *** proposes a unified guideline based on the current evidence,with the best potential to maintain suitable clinical standards in the Saudi Arabian ministry of Health.

The objective of this research paper is to study numerical relationships between a block of a finite group and a defect group of such block. We define a new notion which is called a strongly k(D)- block and give a necessary and sufficient condition of a block with a cyclic defect group to be a k(D) -block in term of its inertial index. We believe that the notion and the results in this work will contribute to the developments of the theory of blocks of finite groups.

Films of polymethyl methacrylate (PmmA)/polycarbonate (PC) polymer blend doped silicon carbide (SiC) nanopowder are synthesized by the casting method. The study for the structural, optical and electrical behavior of PmmA/PC blend without and with low contents (≤0.8 wt%) of SiC is done. The change of the structure is investigated from X-ray spectra. After the addition of SiC, the intensity of the main X-ray halo peak at 2θ = 20.26°of PmmA/PC is decreased, attributed to an interaction between PmmA/PC. It’s clear that SiC is causing an increase in the amorphous regions inside the PmmA/PC blend. The peaks related to SiC are not found attributed using a small amount of SiC with complete dissolution of SiC. The shift of the intensity for IR bands has supported an interaction between all components. The values of the optical band gap from UV-Vis spectra using indirect transition are decreased with the increase of SiC. The values of the electrical conductivity are low at low frequency attributed to the charge accumulation at the electrode which takes place. The conductivity is increased as the increase of frequency due to the mobility of charge carriers. Furthermore, the conductivity is increased with the increase of SiC contents. The values of ε' and ε'' are very high at the lower frequency and they decrease when the frequency is increased attributed to the effect. The plot of both Z' and Z'' shows dramatic decrease with the increase of frequency.

Timetabling problem is among the most difficult operational tasks and is an important step in raising industrial productivity,capability,and *** tasks are usually tackled using metaheuristics techniques that provide an intelligent way of suggesting solutions or *** intelligence techniques including Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)have proved to be effective *** recent experiments showed that the PSO algorithm is reliable for timetabling in many applications such as educational and personnel timetabling,machine scheduling,***,having an optimal solution is extremely challenging but having a sub-optimal solution using heuristics or metaheuristics is *** research paper seeks the enhancement of the PSO algorithm for an efficient timetabling *** algorithm aims at generating a feasible timetable within a reasonable *** enhanced version is a hybrid dynamic adaptive PSO algorithm that is tested on a round-robin tournament known as ITC2021 which is dedicated to sports *** competition includes several soft and hard constraints to be satisfied in order to build a feasible or sub-optimal *** consists of three categories of complexities,namely early,test,and middle *** showed that the proposed dynamic adaptive PSO has obtained feasible timetables for almost all of the *** feasibility is measured by minimizing the violation of hard constraints to *** performance of the dynamic adaptive PSO is evaluated by the consumed computational time to produce a solution of feasible timetable,consistency,and *** dynamic adaptive PSO showed a robust and consistent performance in producing a diversity of timetables in a reasonable computational time.

magnetic assembly at the nanoscale level brings potential possibilities in obtaining novel delicate nanostructures with unique physical, photonic or electronic properties. Interface surfactant micelle-directed assembly strategy holds great promising in fabricating ordered mesoporous materials with multifunctionality and pore parameter tunability. Combing these, herein, one-dimensional (1D) nanochains with well-aligned silica-coated magnetic particles as core and mesoporous aluminosilicate as shell are rational fabricated for the first time through magnetic field induced interface coassembly in biliquid system followed by the incorporation of Al species via in-situ chemical modification and transformation strategy. The obtained magnetic mesoporous aluminosilicate nanochains (mmAS-NCs) possess well-defined core-shell-shell sandwich nanostructure, tunable perpendicular mesopore channels in the shell (2.7–7.6 nm), high surface area (359 m^(2)·g^(-1)), abundant acidic sites, and superparamagnetism with a magnetization saturation of 13.8 emu·g^(-1). Thanks to the unique properties, the mmAS-NCs exhibit excellent performance in acting as magnetically recyclable superior solid acid catalysts and nanostirrers with high conversion of over 96.8%, selectivity of 95.0% in the deprotection reaction of benzaldehyde dimethylacetal to benzaldehyde. moreover, mmAS-NCs exhibit an interesting pore size effect on the catalytic activity, namely, in the pore size range of 2–8 nm, the catalysts with larger pores show significantly enhanced catalytic activity due to the balanced mass transport and density of surface active sites.

Enhancement of Quality of Secondary Industrial Wastewater Effluent by Coagulation Process: A Case Study

The local wastewater treatment facility in Yanbu Industrial City receives 24,000 m3/day of industrial wastewater. This wastewater, mostly from refineries and petrochemical industries, goes through physical, biological and chemical stages of treatment. However, the treated water still fails to pass some of the permissible levels set by governmental agencies. This research paper investigated the enhancement of the treatment processes to reduce the turbidity of the effluent treated water. Ferric chloride, ferrous sulfate, alum and commercial synthetic cationic polymer were tried as coagulants. Different conditions (i.e., pH, temperature, dose, stirring rate) were searched. Ferrous sulfate and polymer reduced the final turbidity to acceptable values with very low doses compared with other coagulant.
