The non-Newtonian blood flow, together with magnetic particles in a stenosed artery, is studied using a magneto-hydrodynamic approach. The wall slip condition is also considered. Approximate solutions are obtained in series forms under the assumption that the Womersley frequency parameter has small values. Using an integral transform method, analytical solutions for any values of the Womersley parameter are *** simulations are performed using mATHCAD to study the influence of stenosis and magnetic field on the flow parameters. When entering the stenosed area, blood velocity increases slightly, but increases considerably and reaches its maximum value in the stenosis throat. It is concluded that the magnitude of axial velocity varies considerably when the applied magnetic field is strong. The magnitude of maximum fluid velocity is high in the case of weak magnetic fields. This is due to the Lorentz's force that opposes motion of an electrically conducting fluid. The effect of externally transverse magnetic field is to decelerate the flow of blood. The shear stress consistently decreases in the presence of a magnetic field with increasing intensity.

In this study,an alternative precursor for production of activated carbon was introduced using dragon fruit(Hylocereus costaricensis)peel(DFP).moreover,KOH was used as a chemical activator in the thermal carbonization process to convert DFP into activated carbon(DFPAC).In order to accomplish this research,several approaches were employed to examine the elemental composition,surface properties,amorphous and crystalline nature,essential active group,and surface morphology of the *** BrunauerEmmettTeller test demonstrated a mesoporous structure of the DFPAC has a high surface area of 756.3 m2g *** cationic dye methylene Blue(mB)was used as a probe to assess the efficiency of DFPAC towards the removal of mB dye from aqueous *** effects of adsorption input factors(*** dose(A:0.040.12 g L 1),pH(B:310),and temperature(C:3050℃))were investigated and optimized using statistical analysis(*** design(BBD)).The adsorption kinetic model can be best categorized as the pseudofirst order(PFO).Whereas,the adsorption isotherm model can be best described by Langmuir model,with maximum adsorption capacity of DFPAC for mB dye was 195.2 mg g 1 at 50℃.The adsorption mechanism of mB by DFPAC surface was attributed to the electrostatic interaction,pp interaction,and ***,the results support the ability of DFP to be a promising precursor for production of highly porous activated carbon suitable for removal of cationic dyes(***).

The importance of maximizing irrigation water productivity is increasing as the water resources still decreasing and deteriorating due to environmental interactions. An optimal irrigation water depth （including leaching water depth） was estimated in order to maximize water unit volume productivity by using the optimal leaching fraction （LF）, which is calculated by the new proposed model--unit yield ratio （UYR%） and irrigation depth ratio （IDP）. A computer program was constructed to apply this model for several crops irrigated by two water resources--river and well. The water salinity of river was 1.1 dS/m and the well salinity was 3.85 dS/m. The results showed that there is an optimal leaching requirement （LR） value for each crop irrigated by any water resource. The maximum UYR% of the alfalfa irrigated by saline well water was 58.45% with the optimal LF = 0.4, while the maximum UYR% of the bean irrigated by river water was 78.58% with the optimal LR = 0.2. The optimal LF is saving water by increasing the productivity of irrigation water unit volume, especially when using saline irrigation water, for example, an increase of IDP for alfalfa by only 20%, followed by an increase of UYR% about 47.5% （from 12% to 57%） by increasing LF from 0.1 to 0.3.

Affordable hydrophobic hollow fibre membranes were prepared using kaolin and alumina based ceramic powders via a combined phase inversion and sintering technique,followed by a grafting with fluoroalkylsilane(FAS).The crux of the matter in this paper is to study the changes in the properties of the hollow fibre membranes(gas permeation,mechanical strength,pore size,porosity,tortuosity,morphology,and contact angle)by the addition of alumina(Al2O3)to the pure kaolin with mono or multiparticle *** varying the overall loading and particle size of alumina addition,different morphologies of the membranes were obtained due to the differences in the path lengths during phase inversion process for each solvent and nonsolvent *** successful grafting with FAS was evidenced by the increase in contact angle from nearly equal to zero degree before grafting to 140°after ***-alumina-4,one of the hollow fibres fabricated in this work,achieved a mean pore size of 0.25μm with the bending strength of 96.4 mPa and high nitrogen permeance of 2.3×10^(-5) mol·m^(-2)·Pa^(-1)·s^(-1),which makes the hollow fibre most suitable for the membrane contactor application.

This article presents an integrated current mode configurable analog block(CAB)system for field-programmable analog array(FPAA).The proposed architecture is based on the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CmOS)transistor level design where mOSFET transistors operating in the saturation region are *** proposed CAB architecture is designed to implement six of thewidely used current mode operations in analog processing systems:addition,subtraction,integration,multiplication,division,and pass *** functionality of the proposed CAB is demonstrated through these six operations,where each operation is chosen based on the user’s selection in the CAB interface *** architecture of the CAB system proposes an optimized way of designing and integrating only three functional cells with the interface circuitry to achieve the six ***,optimized programming and digital tuning circuitry are implemented in the architecture to control and interface with the functional ***,these designed programming and tuning circuitries play an essential role in optimizing the performance of the proposed *** of the proposed CmOS Transistor Based CAB system is carried out using Tanner EDA Tools in 0.35μm standard CmOS *** design uses a±1.5 V power supply and results in maximum 3 dB bandwidth of 34.9 mHz and an approximate size of 0.0537 *** demonstrates the advantages of the design over the current state-of-the-art designs presented for comparison in this ***,the proposed design has a clear aspect of simplicity,low power consumption,and high bandwidth operation,which makes it a suitable candidate for mobile telecommunications applications.

Amphetamine Versus Non Amphetamine-Related First Episode Psychosis in Saudi Arabian Patients

Background: Amphetamines are illicit psychostimulant drugs that can induce psychotic symptoms. Very few studies have been conducted in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (SA) on amphetamine abuse and related psychosis. Recently, the pattern of amphetamine abuse in SA showed a significant trend of increased frequency. Objectives: To investigate the extent of amphetamine abuse in a sample of Saudi patients hospitalized for first episode of acute psychosis. Also, to compare in that sample between amphetamine psychosis and other psychoses regarding demographic data, premorbid personality and symptoms profile. method: 106 patients with acute psychosis were hospitalized and screening of urine for amphetamine was conducted for all. Patients’ psychiatric evaluation included interviewing, and ICD-10 criteria for personality disorders. 30 healthy subjects were also included for comparison with patients. Results: 34/106 of psychotic patients (32%) were positive for amphetamine in urine (≥ 1000 ng/ml). The frequency of personality disorders was significantly higher (P mpared with healthy subjects (6/30;20%). Also, the incidence of personality disorders was significantly higher (P mphetamine positive psychosis (25/34;73.5%) compared with amphetamine negative psychosis (29/72;40%). Cluster B personality disorders particularly the antisocial and borderline were significantly higher in amphetamine positive psychosis (13/34;38%) compared with amphetamine negative psychoses (6/72;8%). The symptom profile showed significant difference between amphetamine positive and amphetamine negative psychosis as regards ideas of reference (50% vs. 14%), suspiciousness (44% vs. 11%), suicidal ideation (38% vs. 23%), paranoid delusions (29% vs. 17%) and increased pulse or blood pressure (29% vs. 7%) respectively.
