Preliminary Palynostratigraphic Data on the middle Albian-Lower Cenomanian of the Tarfaya Basin, Southwest morocco

The Tarfaya-Laayoune-Boujdour basin is of great interest to oil exploration;on this aspect, there has been exploration by the moroccan National Office of Hydrocarbons and mining, which has shown indices of oil and/or gas recorded in most wells drilled in the moroccan Atlantic margin. FD-1 well, object of this study, is one of these wells located in the offshore Tarfaya-Laayoune-Boujdour basin. A palynological examination of the processed samples revealed the existence of organic palynomorphs, well conserved and rich in dinoflagellate cysts. The latter are composed of worldwide marker taxa of high stratigraphic resolutions. Thus, the middle upper Albian (3408 - 3408.5 m) is determined by the presence of Cribroperidinium tensiftense, Tehamadinium coummia, Spiniferella cornuta, Chichaouadinium vestitum, Dinopterygium alatum and Litosphaeridium arundum. The upper Albian (3406.5 - 3408 m) is characterized by the FOs of marker taxa: Cyclonephelium chabaca, Cribroperidinium auctificum and Chichaouadinium vestitum. Lastly, the upper Albian-lower Cenomanian transition is defined between 3404 m and 3406.50 m, as suggested by the FOs of Chichaouadinium boydii, Dinopterygium tuberculatum, Sepispinula ancorifera, Litosphaeridium conispinum, Prolixosphaeridium conulum and Xenascus ceratioides.

The critical electric fields of hot SF6 are calculated including both electron and ion kinetics in wide ranges of temperature and pressure, namely from 300 K up to 4000 K and 2 atmospheres up to 32 atmospheres respectively. Based on solving a multi-term electron Boltz- mann equation the calculations use improved electron-gas collision cross sections for twelve SF6 dissociation products with a particular emphasis on the electron-vibrating molecule interactions. The ion kinetics is also considered and its role on the critical field becomes non negligible as the temperature is above 2000 K. These critical fields are then used in hydrodynamics simulations which correctly predict the circuit breaker behaviours observed in the case of breaking tests.

By using first-principles calculations we studied the electronic, optical and magnetic properties of ZnO co-doped with Eu and Pm. In this calculation, we used Wien2 k code based on full potential linearized augmented plane waves(FP-LAPW) method with the modified Becke-Johnson(mBJ) approximation. This correction gives good band gap compared to experimental band gap. The introduction of Eu and Pm codoping leads to an increase in the band gap. Electrons can transit easily from the valence band to the conduction band, which results in an enhancement of visible light absorption in a wider absorption range. Absorption spectra reach a high value in visible and infrared light regions. With the significance of the obtained results, the studied compounds may potentially find spintronic and optoelectronic applications.

The present work is devoted to the 2D simulation of a point-to-plane Atmospheric Corona Discharge Reactor （ACDR） powered by a DC high voltage supply. The corona reactor is periodically crossed by thin mono filamentary streamers with a natural repetition frequency of some tens of kHz. The study compares the results obtained in dry air and in air mixed with a small amount of water vapour （humid air）. The simulation involves the electro-dynamics~ chemical kinetics and neutral gas hydrodynamics phenomena that influence the kinetics of the chemical species transformation. Each discharge lasts about one hundred of a nanosecond while the post- discharge occurring between two successive discharges lasts one hundred of a microsecond. The ACDR is crossed by a lateral dry or humid air flow initially polluted with 400 ppm of NO. After 5 ms, the time corresponding to the occurrence of 50 successive discharge/post-discharge phases, a higher NO removal rate and a lower ozone production rate are found in humid air. This change is due to the presence of the HO2 species formed from the H primary radical in the discharge zone.

Two experimental techniques have been used to quantify the atomic oxygen density in the case of hot air plasma generated by a microwave （mW） resonant cavity. The latter operates at a frequency of 2.45 GHz inside a cell of gas conditioning at a pressure of 600 mbar, an injected air flow of 12 L/min and an input mW power of 1 kW. The first technique is based on the standard two photon absorption laser induced fluorescence （TALIF） using xenon for calibration but applied for the first time in the present post discharge hot air plasma column having a temperature of about 4500 K near the axis of the nozzle. The second diagnostic technique is an actinometry method based on optical emission spectroscopy （OES）. In this case, we compared the spectra intensities of a specific atomic oxygen line （844 nm） and the closest wavelength xenon line （823 nm）. The two lines need to be collected under absolutely the same spectroscopic parameters. The xenon emission is due to the addition of a small proportion of xenon （1% Xe） of this chemically inert gas inside the air while a further small quantity of H2 （2~） is also added in the mixture in order to collect OH（A- X） and NH（A-X） spectra without noise. The latter molecular spectra are required to estimate gas and excitation temperatures. Optical emission spectroscopy measurements, at for instance the position z=12 mm on the axis plasma column that leads to a gas measured temperature equal to 3500 K, an excitation temperature of about 9500 K and an atomic oxygen density 2.09× 1017＋ 0.2×1017 cm-3. This is in very good agreement with the TALIF measurement, which is equal to 2.0×101T cm-3.

The non-thermal plasma technology is a promising technique to treat SO2 and NOx. Chemical radicals produced with this technology can remove several pollutants at atmospheric pressure in a very short period of time simultaneously. Both theoretical and experimental study on SO2 and NOx removal, by a dielectric barrier discharge （DBD） with corona effect, is presented.

Aim of the work: Achalasia is a rare pathology whose physiopathogenesis is mysterious. The treatment is based on endoscopic pneumatic dilation (PD) and surgery. The aim of our work is to show our experiment about endoscopic pneumatic dilation as the principal treatment suggested for patients presenting achalasia. material and method: It is a retrospective study relating 21 cases of achalasia indexed between 2002 and 2007. The remission was judged on Eckardt’s clinical criteria. If the symptoms persist after three episodes of PD, there’s a therapy failure and the patients were then proposed to surgery or recurrent DP. The results: The middle Age at the time of diagnosis was of 44 ± 10, 66 years (20 to 76). The sex ratio was 1, 3 (12m?9F) (p = 0.5). The diagnosis of achalasia is based on imaging, endoscopy and manometric arguments. The PD of the cardia was proposed in first intention, except two patients who were treated 6 and 15 years before by surgery. 38 dilations were performed for 21 patients with an average of 1.8 PD per patient [1-6]. The rate of good answers after the third episode of PD was about 90.47% (19 patients). There was no complication of the PD. In plain-varied analysis, no predictive factor of good answers to PD was retained. Conclusion: PD is an effective cure with a negligible morbidity and no mortality. The surgery is reserved for the failures of pneumatic dilation.

Patients with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) have long been considered at risk for viral hepatitis B. However, recent epidemiological studies have found similar prevalence, or even lower than in the general population. The objective of this work is to determine the prevalence of viral hepatitis B (HVB) during IBD, to determine the risk factors in the service of Hepato-gastroenterology of university hospital Hassan II-Fez, and of evaluate the impact on therapeutic management. PATIENTS AND mETHODS: This is a retrospective study, spread over a period of 17 years and a half (January 2001-June 2017). All patients treated for IBD who are tested for Hbs Ag and anti Hbcwere included. The HVB DNA levels were tested in case of positivity of HbsAgor anti Hbc. Results: Over the study period, 755 patients were included. The average age of our patients was 35 years [14 - 87] with a sex-ratio H/F of 0.67. We had 391 cases (51.8%) of Crohn’s disease (CD) and 364 cases (48.2%) of ulcerative colitis (UC). Anti HBctest was positive in 1.98% of cases (N = 15). In these patients, HBsAg was positive in 1.19% of cases (N = 9). The prevalence of HVB was 2.55% in CD (N = 10) versus 1.37% in UC (N = 5). In our work, no history of surgery, digestive endoscopy or transfusion has been shown to be a risk factor for viral transmission. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of HVB in IBD is similar to that of the general population. The safety of blood transfusions and the improvement of asepsis probably explain these results. However, the risk of viral reactivation during HVB, sometimes fatal under immunosuppressive treatment, requires systematic screening.

Peritoneal tuberculosis is still common in morocco. Its diagnosis is based on several methods. Laparoscopy with directed biopsies is still considered as the referenced method. The aim of our work is to show the place and the importance of laparoscopy in the diagnosis of peritoneal tuberculosis through the study of various endoscopic aspects. materials and methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study extended from January 2001 to December 2011. We collected 414 cases of isolated ascites confirmed by ultrasonography. Different parameters were analyzed: epidemiological data, indications of laparoscopy and its results and complications. Results: The average age of our patients was 38 years (range: 8 years - 90 years) with a female predominance (sex ratio F/m: 2.3). Abdominal ultrasound performed in all patients has confirmed the presence of ascites in 100% of cases. Based on clinical data (soft or tense abdomen) and ultrasound (free or partitioned ascites), we performed a standard laparoscopy in 313 cases and open laparoscopy in 101 cases. The presence of granules was noted in 318 cases (76.8%). Peritoneal tuberculosis was found in 81.5% of cases with small whitish granulations distributed homogeneously, while peritoneal carcinomatosis was confirmed in 86.8% of patients with large granules distributed inhomogeneously. The presence of adhesions was observed in 33% of cases with peritoneal tuberculosis, while it was mentioned in only 2.8 cases of carcinomatosis. Conclusion: Despite the development of imaging means, ascitic fluid culture and PCR (polymerase chain reaction), laparoscopy remains indispensable for an early diagnosis of peritoneal tuberculosis and adequate management.
