Use of ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) fallout radionuclides for spatial soil erosion and redistribution assessment on steeply sloping agricultural highlands

The steeply sloping agricultural highlands in Korea have severe soil *** of both soil erosion and sedimentation in these highlands is necessary to make plans for soil-conservation measures,but it is not feasible using existing soil-erosion *** study measured the site-specific concentrations of ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) on both a highland slope(33%slope)and a reference site(undisturbed flat area)to estimate soil erosion and *** use of the fallout radionuclide(FRN)method was evaluated to see if it is a suitable method for characterizing soil *** were compared with those obtained with the Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE),which is an empirical model that estimates annual soil *** average concentrations of ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) at the reference site were 11.57±0.24 Bq kg^(-1) and 59.74±4.2 Bq kg^(-1),*** of ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) in the experimental slope were 16.4%and 10.8%,respectively,of those at the reference *** inventories were lower at the upper point of the slope than those at the basal point of the *** of ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) were significantly correlated with available phosphorus,organic matter,CEC,and exchangeable *** of soil redistribution rate using ^(137)Cs and ^(210)Pb_(ex) showed site-specific variations at different points along the slope,and respective ranges were^(-1)7.46~-207.51 and 1.55~-581.38 mgha^(-1) yr^(-1),which indicated that more erosion was assessed by ^(210)Pb_(ex) than by ^(137)*** analysis showed that soil erosion occurred along the entire slope,except for the bottom point of the slope where 1.55 mgha^(-1) yr^(-1) of sediment *** USLE provided a single value of the average annual soil loss in the entire slope,which was either 166 or 398 mgha^(-1) yr^(-1),depending on the soil erodibility factor(soil series factor and calculated factor from soil sample analysis)used in t

Development of twin wheel creep-feed grinding machine using continuous dressing for machining of aircraft rotary wing

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have attracted considerable interest as an alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their similar electrochemical performance and superior long-term cycle *** materials are regarded as promising anode materials for constructing SIBs with high capacity and good ***,utilization of organic materials is rather limited by their low energy density and poor stability at high current *** overcome these limitations,we utilized a novel polymeric disodium phthalocyanines(pNaPc)as SIB anodes to provide stable coordination sites for Na ions as well as to enhance the stability at high current *** varying the linker type during a one-pot cyclization and polymerization process,two pNaPc anodes with O-(O-pNaPc)and S-linkers(S-pNaPc)were prepared,and their structural and electrochemical properties were *** O-pNaPc binds Na ions with a lower binding energy compared with S-pNaPc,which leads to more facile Na-ion coordination/dissociation when engaged as SIB *** use of O-pNaPc significantly improves the redox kinetics and cycle stability and allows the fabrication of a full cell against Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(2)F_(3)/C cathode,which demonstrates its practical application with high energy density(288 Wh kg^(-1))and high power density(149 W kg^(-1)).

Wintertime suspended sediment simulation in the Huanghai and East China Seas

A simulation of suspended sediment movement relating to tidal and wave forcing during a winter monsoon in November 1983 in the Huanghai and East China Seas continental shelf is attempted by using the model describing the cohesive/non-cohesive sediment resus-pension generated by interactions between currents and *** simulation showed that sediment concentration was increased by resuspension at shallow depths during the strong storm conditions due to high bottom stress interacted between currents and waves. This result is in general agreement with observations in horizontal distribution of suspended sediment distribution. At three current meter mooring positions off the southern Shandong Peninsula resuspension occurred only at a depth of 22 m,nearest coastal position and at deeper parts at depths of 51 and 80 m wave-current interaction effects were not significant. It has shown that the present model simulation demonstrated the capability of reproduction of suspended sediment movement under wintertime extreme event reasonably well.

High-throughput volumetric adaptive optical imaging using compressed time-reversal matrix

Increasing sulfur utilization in lithium-sulfur batteries by a Co-mOF-74@mWCNT interlayer

To improve lithium-sulfur battery performance,Co-mOF-74 has been applied for the first time as an interlayer with multiwalled carbon nanotubes(mWCNTs).Co-mOF-74@mWCNT was synthesized using a solvothermal *** fabrication of Co-mOF-74@mWCNT was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis,and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller *** interlayer was fabricated using a filtration *** batteries were prepared using a ComOF-74@mWCNT interlayer and an mWCNT interlayer and subsequently investigated via cyclic voltammetry ***-mOF-74 promotes a redox reaction and shows a small peak at 1.85 V.A symmetric and full cell test revealed that the Co-mOF-74@mWCNT cell enables a faster redox reaction and higher capacity than that of the mWCNT *** 15 cycles,the Co-mOF-74@mWCNT cell achieved a value of 1112 mAh g^(-1),which is 26% greater than that of the mWCNT cell(880 mAh g^(-1)) at 0.2 *** profile testing showed that the reason for the higher capacity of the Co-mOF-74@mWCNT cell is that it promotes the conversion of Li_(2)S_(2) to Li_(2)*** electrochemical analyses confirmed that the Co-mOF-74@mWCNT interlayer acts not only as a physical and chemical barrier but also promotes the transformation of Li_(2)S_(2) to Li_(2)S.

Bird-mimetic Wing System of Flapping-wing micro Air Vehicle with Autonomous Flight Control Capability

A micro air vehicle with a bird-mimetic up-down and twisting wing drive system was developed in this study. The Flap- ping-wing micro Air Vehicle （FmAV）, with a 50 cm wingspan and a double-crank drive system, performed successful flights of up to 23 min. The performance and capabilities of the FmAV were enhanced by adapting a number of unique features, such as a bird-mimetic wing shape with a span-wise camber and an up-down and twisting wing drive mechanism with double-crank linkages, This lift-enhancing design by mimicking the flapping mechanism of a bird＇s wing enabled the 210 g FmAV to fly autonomously in an outdoor field under wind speeds of less than 5 m.s-1. Autonomous flight was enabled by installing a flight control computer with a micro-electro-mechanical gyroscope and accelerometers, along with a micro video camera and an ultralight wireless communication system inside the fuselage. A comprehensive wind tunnel test shows that the FmAV with a high-camber wing and double-crank mechanism generates more lift and less net thrust than the FmAV with a flat wing and single-crank mechanism, which confirms the improved performance of the developed FmAV, as well as the superior slow flying or hovering capabilities of the FmAV with a high-camber wing and double-crank wing drive system.

Lipidomics coverage improvement is essential for functional lipid and pathway construction.A powerful approach to discovering organism lipidome is to combine various data acquisitions,such as full scan mass spectrometry(full mS),data-dependent acquisition(DDA),and data-independent acquisition(DIA).Caenorhabditis elegans(***)is a useful model for discovering toxic-induced metabolism,highthroughput drug screening,and a variety of human disease *** determine the lipidome of *** and investigate lipid disruption from the molecular level to the system biology level,we used integrative data *** methyl-tert-butyl ether method was used to extract L4 stage *** after exposure to triclosan(TCS),perfluorooctanoic acid,and nanopolystyrene(nPS).Full mS,DDA,and DIA integrations were performed to comprehensively profile the *** lipidome by Q-Exactive Plus *** annotated lipids were then analyzed using lipid ontology and pathway *** annotated up to 940 lipids from 20 lipid classes involved in various functions and *** biological investigations revealed that when *** were exposed to nPS,lipid droplets were disrupted,whereas plasma membrane-functionalized lipids were likely to be changed in the TCS treatment *** nPS treatment caused a significant disruption in lipid ***,glycerophospholipid,and ether class lipids were those primarily hindered by ***,toxicant exposure frequently involved numerous lipid-related pathways,including the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B *** conclusion,an integrative data acquisition strategy was used to characterize the *** lipidome,providing valuable biological insights into hypothesis generation and validation.

The Role of Relative Spinal motion during Feline Galloping for Speed Performance

Felines use their spinal column to increase their running speed at rapid locomotion performance. However, its motion profile behavior during fast gait locomotion has little attention. The goal of this study is to examine the relative spinal motion profile during two different galloping gait speeds. To understand this dynamic behavior trend, a dynamic motion of the feline animal （Felis catus domestica） was measured and analyzed by motion capture devices. Based on the experiments at two different galloping gaits, we observed a significant increase in speed （from 3.2 m.s-1 to 4.33 m.s-1） during the relative motion profile synchronization between the spinal （range： 118.86~ to 168.00~） and pelvic segments （range： 46.35~ to 91.13~） during the hindlimb stance phase （time interval： 0.495 s to 0.600 s）. Based on this discovery, the relative angular speed profile was applied to understand the possibility that the role of the relative motion match during high speed locomotion generates bigger ground reaction force.
