In this work,the stress intensity factors(sIFs)for a wide range of semi-elliptical surface cracks with different inclination angles in a cylindrical bar subjected to pure tension were investigated *** main parameters considered to evaluate the sIFs were the crack size ratio(a/d),the crack aspect ratio(a/c),and the crack inclination angle(0).The dual-boundary element met hod implemented in software BEAsY was used to compute the sIF values for *** her more,the general closed-form solutions were proposed to evaluate the corresponding sIFs for mode I,mode II and mode III types of fracture through curve fitting *** solutions can provide accurate and reliable values of stress intensity factors for a crack on a cylindrical bar under pure tension in a rapid way compared to those obtained using computational *** addition,these results can be used as inputs for failure studies and life evaluations of cracked cylinder under working conditions.

Nanostructured multiphase zirconia films （mZFs） are deposited on Zr substrate by the irradiation of energetic oxygen ions emanated from a plasma focus device. The oxygen operating gas pressure of 1 mbar （1 bar=105 Pa） provides the most appropriate ion energy flux to deposit crystalline ZrO2 films. X-ray diffraction （XRD） patterns reveal the formation of polycrystalline ZrO2 films. The crystallite size （Cs）, crystal growth, and dislocation densities are attributed to increasing focus shots, sample axial distances, and working gas pressures. Phase and orientation transformations from t-ZrO2 to m-ZrO2 and c-ZrO2 are associated with increasing focus shots and continuous annealing. For lower （200 ℃） annealing temperature （AT）, full width at half maximum （FWHm） of diffraction peak, Cs, and dislocation density （δ） for （020） plane are found to be 0.494, 16.6 nm, and 3.63×10-3 nm-2 while for higher （400 ℃） AT, these parameters for （111） plane are found to be 0.388, 20.87 nm, and 2.29×10-3 nm-2, respectively. scanning electron microscope （sEm） results demonstrate the formation of rounded grains with uniform distribution. The estimated values of atomic ratio （O/Zr） in ZrO2 films deposited for different axial distances （6 cm, 9 cm, and 12 cm） are found to be 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3, respectively. Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） analysis reveals that the bands appearing at 441 cm-1 and 480 cm-1 belong to m-ZrO2 and t-ZrO2 phases, respectively. maximum microhardness （8.65±0.45 GPa） of ZrO2 film is ～ 6.7 times higher than the microhardness of virgin Zr.

The effects of different solvent/water coagula-tion mediums,different coagulation bath temperatures(CBT)and different coagulants on the performance,morphology and thermal stability of polysulfone mem-branes were *** CO_(2)/CH_(4),H_(2)/CH_(4) and H_(2)/N_(2) separation performance of the membranes were studied by gas *** the N,N-dimethyl acetamide(DmAc)/water coagulation medium ratio from pure water to 90/10 vol%,resulted in a complete disappearance of the macrovoids throughout the polysulfone(Psf)polymeric *** Psf membrane prepared in a CBT of 25℃ showed the best gas separation performance with ideal selectivities of 46.29,39.81 and 51.02 for H_(2)/CH_(4),CO_(2)/CH_(4) and H_(2)/N_(2) respectively,and permeances of 25 and 21.5 GPU for H_(2) and CO_(2) at 25℃ and 10 bar *** increasing the amount of solvent in the gelation bath,the selectivities of H_(2)/CH_(4),CO_(2)/CH_(4) and H_(2)/N_(2) were dramatically reduced from 46.29,39.81 and 51.02 to 16.08,20.2 and 18.5 respectively at 25℃ and 10 *** the CBT from 80℃ to 5℃ led to a complete elimination of *** methanol as a coagulant resulted in a less selective membrane compared with membranes from ethanol and water *** H_(2) and CO_(2) permeances were respectively about 3 and 9 times more than those for ethanol and water *** membranes were heated at different temperatures to investigate the suppression of undesirable CO_(2) *** membranes were stabilized against CO_(2) plasticization by a heat-treatment process.

This paper documents an investigation into the compressive deformation behaviour of electron beam melting （EBm） processing titanium alloy （Ti-6A1-4V） parts under high strain loading conditions. The dynamic compression tests were carried out at a high strain rate of over 1 × 10^3/s using the split Hopkinson pressure bar （sHPB） test system and for comparison the quasi-static tests were performed at a low strain rate of 1×10^-3/s using a numerically controlled hydraulic materials test system （mTs） testing machine at an ambient temperature. Furthermore, microstructure analysis was carried out to study the failure mechanisms on the deformed samples. The Vickers micro-hardness values of the samples were measured before and after the compression tests. The microstructures of the compressed samples were also characterized using optical microscopy. The particle size distribution and chemical composition of powder material, which might affect the mechanical properties of the specimens, were investigated. In addition, the numerical simulation using commercial explicit finite element software was employed to verify the experimental results from sHPB test system.

An alluvial bajada has been recognized along a part of the active Narmada-son Fault(NsF) and confined by the Karjan River on the eastern side and by the madhumati River on western *** bajada sequence exposed along the incised cliffs of various north flowing parallel streams has been studied in their proximal,medial and distal part. The sediments are characterized on the basis of grain size,fabric,sedimentary structures,bed geometry and sorting, and lithologs prepared from the mapped cliff *** study of sedimentary characteristics,lithofacies analysis and facies associations indicate that sediments are mainly of three types-sediments that were deposited by debris flows and sediment gravity flows,and as extensive bar *** major aggredational sequences are *** sequence is composed of coarsening-upward sequence of proximal facies overlain by fining-upward sequence of distal *** upward sequence record periods of tectonic activity related to uplift along the NsF and fan progradation,whereas fining-upward sequence results from tectonic quiescence *** presence of rhizocretions,calcium carbonate nodules and calcite sheets within the basal debris flow and sediment gravity flow indicate semi-arid climate,whereas the formation of pedoginized paleosol indicate relatively wetter climate prevailing in the study *** activity along the NsF has played dominant role by controlling the geometry and volume of bajada *** is found to be responsible for compositional and temporal distribution of bajada *** dating suggests that the bajada sediments were deposited during the later part of late *** incision of the sediments is attributed to uplift due to inversion of the lower Narmada basin during the early Holocene.

solid oral controlled release formulations feature numerous clinical advantages for drug candidates with adequate solubility and dissolution ***,most new chemical entities exhibit poor water solubility,and hence are exempt from such *** combining drug amorphization with controlled release formulation is promising to elevate drug solubility,like other supersaturating systems,the problem of drug recrystallization has yet to be resolved,particularly within the dosage ***,we explored the potential of an emerging,non-leachable terpolymer nanoparticle(TPN)pore former as an internal recrystallization inhibitor within controlled release amorphous solid dispersion(CRAsD)beads comprising a poorly soluble drug(celecoxib)reservoir and insoluble polymer(ethylcellulose)*** to conventional pore former,polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP),TPN-containing membranes exhibited superior structural integrity,less crystal formation at the CRAsD bead surface,and greater extent of celecoxib ***-atom molecular dynamics analyses revealed that in the presence of TPN,intra-molecular bonding,crystal formation tendency,diffusion coefficient,and molecular flexibility of celecoxib were reduced,while intermolecular H-bonding was increased as compared to *** work suggests that selection of a pore former that promotes prolonged molecular separation within a nanoporous controlled release membrane structure may serve as an effective strategy to enhance amorphicity preservation inside CRAsD.

BEsⅢ data show a particular angular distribution for the decay of J/Ψ and Ψ(2 s) mesons into ■ and Σ~0Σ~0 hyperons: the angular distribution of the decay Ψ(2 s) →Σ~0Σ~0 exhibits an opposite trend with respect to the other three channels: J/Ψ→■, J/Ψ→Σ~0Σ~0 and Ψ(2 s) →■. We define a model to explain the origin of this phenomenon.

Tay-sachs disease and sandhoff disease are severe hereditary neurodegenerative disorders caused by a deficiency ofβ-hexosaminidase A(HexA)enzyme,which results in the accumulation of Gm2 gangliosides in the nervous system *** this work,we analyzed the efficacy and safety of cell-mediated gene therapy for sandhoff disease and sandhoff disease using a bicistronic lentiviral vector encoding cDNA of HexAα-andβ-subunit genes separated by the nucleotide sequence of a P2A peptide(HEXA-HEXB).The functionality of the bicistronic construct containing the HEXA-HEXB genetic cassette was analyzed in a culture of HEK293T cells and human umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells(hUCBmCs).Our results showed that the enzymatic activity of HexA in the conditioned medium harvested from genetically modified HEK293T-HEXA-HEXB and hUCBmCs-HEXA-HEXB was increased by 23 and 8 times,respectively,compared with the conditioned medium of native *** blot analysis showed that hUCBmCs-HEXA-HEXB secreted both completely separated HEXA and HEXB proteins,and an uncleaved protein containing HEXA+HEXB linked by the P2A *** injection of genetically modified hUCBmCs-HEXA-HEXB to laboratory Wistar rats was carried out,and the HexA enzymatic activity in the blood plasma of experimental animals,as well as the number of live cells of immune system organs(spleen,thymus,bone marrow,lymph nodes)were determined.A significant increase in the enzymatic activity of HexA in the blood plasma of laboratory rats on days 6 and 9(by 2.5 and 3 times,respectively)after the administration of hUCBmCsHEXA-HEXB was *** the same time,the number of live cells in the studied organs remained ***,the functionality of the bicistronic genetic construct encoding cDNA of the HEXA and HEXB genes separated by the nucleotide sequence of the P2A peptide was shown in vitro and in *** hypothesize that due to the natural ability of hUCBmCs to overcome biological barriers,such a strategy can rest
