Catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline medium:Configuring a cooperative mechanism at the Ag-Ag_(2)s-mos_(2) interface

Designing electrocatalysts for HER in alkaline conditions to overcome the sluggish kinetics associated with the additional water dissociation step is a recognized challenge in promoting the hydrogen *** this end,delicately tuning the atomic-scale structure and surface composition of nanoparticles is a common strategy and,specifically,making use of hybrid structures,can produce synergistic effects that lead to highly active ***,we present a core-shell catalyst of Ag@mos_(2)that shows promising results towards the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in both 0.5 m H_(2)sO_(4)and 0.5 m *** this hybrid structure,the mos_(2)shell is strained and defective,and charge transfer occurs between the conductive core and the shell,contributing to the electrocatalytic *** shelling process results in a large fraction of Ag_(2)s in the cores,and adjusting the relative fractions of Ag,Ag_(2)s,and mos_(2)leads to improved catalytic activity and fast charge-transfer *** suggest that the enhancement of alkaline HER is associated with a cooperative effect of the interfaces,where the Ag(Ⅰ)sites in Ag_(2)s drive the water dissociation step,and the formed hydrogen subsequently recombines on the defective mos_(2)*** study demonstrates the benefits of hybrid structures as functional nanomaterials and provides a scheme to activate mos_(2)for HER in alkaline conditions.

Protection against Covid-19 by BNT162b2 Booster across Age Groups

Background:After promising initial results from the administration of a third(booster)dose of the BNT162b2 messenger RNA vaccine(Pfizer-BioNTech)to persons 60 years of age or older,the booster campaign in Israel was gradually expanded to persons in younger age groups who had received a second dose at least 5 months ***:We extracted data for the period from July 30 to October 10,2021,from the Israel ministry of Health database regarding 4,696,865 persons 16 years of age or older who had received two doses of BNT162b2 at least 5 months *** the primary analysis,we compared the rates of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019(Covid-19),severe illness,and death among those who had received a booster dose at least 12 days earlier(booster group)with the rates among those who had not received a booster(nonbooster group).In a secondary analysis,we compared the rates in the booster group with the rates among those who had received a booster 3 to 7 days earlier(early postbooster group).We used Poisson regression models to estimate rate ratios after adjusting for possible confounding factors.

In this paper,we set up dynamic solitary perturb solutions of a unidirectional stochastic longitudinal wave equation in a magneto-electro-elastic annular bar by a feasible,useful,and influential method named the dual(G’/G,1/G)-expansion *** software,like mathematica,is used to complete this *** obtained solutions of the proposed equation are classified into trigonometric,hyperbolic,and rational types which play an important role in searching for numerous scientific *** technique employed here is an extension of the(G’/G)-expansion technique for finding all previously discovered *** illustrate our findings more clearly,we provide 2D and 3D charts of the various recovery *** then contrasted our findings with those of past *** graphical illustrations of the acquired solutions are singular periodic solitons and kink solitons which are added at the end of this paper.

Effect of core bar inserted into weld faying part to obtain an ideal pipe joint with non-generating inner flash via friction welding

In this study,the effect of core bar inserted into weld faying part to obtain an ideal pipe joint with non-generating inner flash via friction welding is described.A steel pipe with inner and outer diameters corresponding to 8.0 mm and 13.5 mm was used,and the weld faying surface was machined to a groove shape of a flat(butt)*** core bar of various materials was inserted in the weld faying part of the pipes,and those pipes were welded with a friction speed of 27.5 s−1 and friction pressure of 30 *** core bars did not decrease inner flash when joints were fabricated with a core bar of some metallic materials with melting points below that of steel;thus,they were melted during the welding *** joint with an alumina core bar did not decrease inner flash and was crushed by generating an inner ***,a commercially pure tungsten(CP-W)core bar was successfully achieved for decreasing the inner ***,all joints with a CP-W core bar did not exhibit the tensile strength of the base metal and a fracture in the base metal,when they were fabricated during the same time,the friction torque reached the initial *** joint exhibited a fracture in the base metal when it was fabricated with a CP-W core bar and a taper groove shape that was proposed in the previous ***,the core bars were easily removed from the joints;thus the joint with almost no inner flash was successfully *** reduce the inner flash of pipe joints,they should be fabricated with a CP-W core bar inserted into the weld faying part with a taper groove shape.

Nitriding molybdenum: Effects of duration and fill gas pressure when using 100-Hz pulse DC discharge technique

molybdenum is nitrided by a 100-Hz pulsed DC glow discharge technique for various time durations and fill gas pressures to study the effects on the surface properties of molybdenum. X-ray diffractometry （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （sEm）, and atomic force microscopy （AFm） are used for the structural and morphological analysis of the nitrided layers. Vickers＇ microhardness tester is utilized to investigate surface microhardness. Phase analysis shows the formation of more molybdenum nitride molecules for longer nitriding durations at fill gas pressures of 2 mbar and 3 mbar （1 bar = 105 Pa）. A considerable increase in surface microhardness （approximately by a factor of 2） is observed for longer duration （10 h） and 2-mbar pressure. Longer duration （10 h） and 2-mbar fill gas pressure favors the formation of homogeneous, smooth, hard layers by the incorporation of more nitrogen.

Estimation of automotive brake drum−shoe interface friction coefficient under varying conditions of longitudinal forces using simulink

The suitable brake torque at the shoe-drum interface is the prerequisite of the active safety *** of accurate brake torque under varying conditions is predominantly the function of friction coefficient at the shoe-drum *** extracted friction coefficient has been used in the antilock braking system.a.s.algorithm to plot the μ-slip *** longitudinal forces like Coulomb friction force,contact force and actuating forces at the shoe ends are resolved under the equilibrium *** computation of the friction coefficient is presented for the symmetric and asymmetric length of the drum shoes to track the variations in the longitudinal *** classical mechanics formulae considering friction are simulated using virtual environment in matlab/simulink for the distribution of the Coulomb *** dual air braking system set up operated at the 8 bar pressure is used to acquire data for the input parameters like distance of Coulomb friction force,distance of pivot point,and contact force *** evolved estimation algorithm extracted the maximum friction coefficient of 0.7 for the normal force arrangement of the contact force at the symmetric shoe length,while friction coefficient in the range of 0.3-0.7 is obtained at the asymmetric shoe length.

There is substantial public concern about the health risks of proximity to petrochemical *** the Haifa Bay Area(HBA),which contains Israel’s densest industrial area,these concerns have been strengthened by elevated cancer mortality rates since the late *** studied the association between adolescent exposure to industrial air pollution in the HBA and adult-onset *** is a historical cohort *** study population comprised 2,187,317 subjects,using the Israeli medical corps data linked to the Israel National Cancer Registry with follow-up of up to 45 *** assessments were estimated by a spatial kriging interpolation model of sO2,serving as a marker for the dispersion of air pollution emitted from the complex during the study *** found increased crude(HR=1.23,95%CI=1.17 to 1.29)and adjusted(HR=1.16,95%CI=1.10 to 1.21)risk of cancer with increased exposure to air pollution in *** associations remained robust in analyses stratified by decade and socio-economic *** found evidence of monotonically increased risk in five of 13 cancer categories(leukemia,melanoma,female breast,central nervous system,and thyroid tumors).Our findings strengthen the hypothesis that this exposure posed a carcinogenic risk during the study period.

spatio-Temporal Effect on soil Respiration in Fine-scale Patches in a Desert Ecosystem

soil organisms in terrestrial systems are unevenly distributed in time and space, and often aggregated. spatiotemporal patchiness in the soil environment is thought to be crucial for the maintenance of soil biodiversity, providing diverse microhabitats tightly interweaving with resource partitioning. Determination of a ＂scale unit＂ to help understand ecological processes has become one of the important and most debatable problems in recent years. A fieldwork was carried out in the northern Negev Desert highland, Israel to determine the influence of fine-scale landscape patch moisture heterogeneity on biogeochemical variables and microbial activity linkage in a desert ecosystem. The results showed that the spatio-temporal patchiness of soil moisture to which we attribute influential properties, was found to become more heterogenic with the decrease in soil moisture availability （from 8.2 to 0.4 g kg^-1） toward the hot, dry seasons, with coefficient of variation （CV） change amounting to 66.9%. spatio-temporal distribution of organic matter （Om） and total soluble nitrogen （TsN） was found to be relatively uniformly distributed throughout the wet seasons （winter and spring）, with increase of relatively high heterogeneity toward the dry seasons （from 0.25% to 2.17% for Om, and from 0 to 10.2 mg kg^-1 for TsN） with CV of 47.4% and 99.7% for Om and TsN, respectively. Different spatio-temporal landscape patterns were obtained for Ca （CV = 44.6%）, K （CV = 34.4%）, and Na （CV = 92%） ions throughout the study period. CO2 evolution （CV = 48.6%） was found to be of lower heterogeneity （varying between 2 and 39 g CO2-C g^-1 dry soil h^-1） in the moist seasons, e.g., winter and spring, with lower values of respiration coupled with high heterogeneity of Na^＋ and low levels of TsN and organic matter content, and with more homogeneity in the dry seasons （varying between 1 and 50 g CO2-C g^-1 dry soil h^-1）. Our results elucidate the heterogeneity and complexity of desert system habitats
