Prediction of seismic-induced bending moment and lateral displacement in closed and open-ended pipe piles:A genetic programming approach

Ensuring the reliability of pipe pile designs under earthquake loading necessitates an accurate determination of lateral displacement and bending moment,typically achieved through complex numerical modeling to address the intricacies of soil-pile *** recent advancements in machine learning techniques,there is a persistent need to establish data-driven models that can predict these parameters without using numerical simulations due to the difficulties in conducting correct numerical simulations and the need for constitutive modelling parameters that are not readily *** research presents novel lateral displacement and bending moment predictive models for closed and open-ended pipe piles,employing a Genetic Programming(GP)*** a soil dataset extracted from existing literature,comprising 392 data points for both pile types embedded in cohesionless soil and subjected to earthquake loading,the study intentionally limited input parameters to three features to enhance model simplicity:Standard Penetration Test(SPT)corrected blow count(N60),Peak Ground Acceleration(PGA),and pile slenderness ratio(L/D).model performance was assessed via coefficient of determination(R^(2)),Root mean Squared Error(RmSE),and mean Absolute Error(mAE),with R^(2) values ranging from 0.95 to 0.99 for the training set,and from 0.92 to 0.98 for the testing set,which indicate of high accuracy of ***,the study concludes with a sensitivity analysis,evaluating the influence of each input parameter across different pile types.

We report on generation of a dual-wavelength, all-fiber, passively q-switched ytterbium-doped fiber laser using aluminum oxide nanoparticle （al2O3-NP） thin film. A thin film of al2O3 was prepared by embedding al2O3-NPs into a polyvinyl alcohol （PVA） as a host polymer, and then inserted between two fiber ferrules to act as a saturable absorber （SA）. By incorporating the al2O3-PVA SA into the laser cavity, a stable dual-wavelength pulse output centered at 1050 and 1060.7nm is observed at threshold pump power of 80mW. As the pump power is gradually increased from 80 to 300mW, the repetition rate of the generated pulse increases from 16.23 to 59 kHz, while the pulse width decreases from 19 to 6μs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration for this type of SA operating in the 1 μm region.

The Dufour and Soret effects on the unsteady twodimensional magnetonyaro dynamics （mHD） doublediffusive free convective flow of an electrically conducting fluid past a vertical plate embedded in a nonDarcy porous medium are investigated numeri cally. The governing nonlinear dimensionless equations are solved by an implicit finite difference scheme of the CrankNicolson type with a tridiagonal matrix manipulation. The effects of various parameters entering into the problem on the unsteady dimension less velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are studied in detail. Furthermore, the time variation of the skin friction coefficient, the Nusselt number, and the Sherwood number is presented and analyzed. The results show that the unsteady velocity, tem perature, and concentration profiles are substantially influenced by the Dufour and Soret effects. When the Dufour number increases or the Soret number decreases, both the skin friction and the Sherwood number decrease, while the Nusselt number increases. It is found that, when the magnetic parameter increases, the velocity and the temperature decrease in the boundary layer.

We demonstrated a new type of mAX phase material, chromium titanium aluminum carbide（Cr2TialC2） polymer film, to generate a passively q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser（EDFL）. The film thickness was measured to be around 45 μm, which was fabricated using the embedding method with polyvinyl alcohol（PVA） polymer as hoster. The saturable absorber（SA） film demonstrates a dual-wavelength passively q-switched EDFL which operates at 1 531 nm and 1 560.19 nm, respectively. The q-switching pulse duration could be varied from 2.46 μs to 770 ns, while the repetition rate varied from 92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz with an increasing input pumping range from 154 mW to 300 mW. The maximum output power and pulse energy of 15.05 mW and 141.18 nJ were obtained at the maximum input power of 300 mW, respectively.

The resistance between any two lattice points in an infinite, centered-triangular lattice of equal resistors is determined using the lattice Green function method. It is shown that the two-point resistance on the centered-triangular lattice is expressed in terms of the resistance of a triangular lattice. Some exact values for the resistance near the origin of the lattice are presented. For large separation between lattice points the asymptotic forms of the resistance are calculated.

We present structural,magnetic and optical characteristics of Zn_（1-x）Tm_xTe（Tm = mn,Fe,Co,Ni and x = 6.25%）,calculated through Wien2 k code,by using full potential linearized augmented plane wave（FP-LAPW） *** optimization of the crystal structures have been done to compare the ferromagnetic（Fm） and antiferromagnetic（AFm） ground state energies,to elucidate the ferromagnetic phase stability,which further has been verified through the formation and cohesive ***,the estimated Curie temperatures T_c have demonstrated above room temperature ferromagnetism（RTFm） in Zn_（1-x）Tm_xTe（Tm =mn,Fe,Co,Ni and x= 6.25%）.The calculated electronic properties have depicted that mn- and Co-doped ZnTe behave as ferromagnetic semiconductors,while half-metallic ferromagnetic behaviors are observed in Fe- and Ni-doped *** presence of ferromagnetism is also demonstrated to be due to both the p-d and s-d hybridizations between the host lattice cations and Tm *** calculated band gaps and static real dielectric constants have been observed to vary according to Penn＇s *** evaluated band gaps lie in near visible and ultraviolet regions,which make these materials suitable for various important device applications in optoelectronic and spintronic.

Background:Toxoplasma gondii is a zoonotic coccidian parasite causing morbidity and *** Yemen,*** infection has been reported among pregnant women seeking healthcare in the main ***,no data are available on the prevalence of *** infection and its associated risk factors among pregnant women in the rural communities of the ***,the present study aimed to determine the seroprevalence of *** and identify its risk factors among pregnant women in the rural communities of Taiz governorate,***:A total of 359 pregnant women living in the rural communities of Taiz governorate were enrolled in this study by house-to-house *** were collected using a pre-designed questionnaire,and blood samples were collected and tested for the detection of *** Igm and IgG antibodies by enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The prevalence of *** infection among pregnant women in this study was 46.2%(166/359).Bivariate analysis identified the age of≥30 years(odds ratio[OR]=1.7;95%confidence interval[CI]=1.09-2.65,P=0.019)and unimproved water sources(OR=2.2;95%CI=1.10-4.55,P=0.023)as factors associated with *** infection among pregnant *** multivariable analysis,however,identified unimproved water sources as an independent risk factor(adjusted OR=2.4;95%CI=1.16-5.0,P=0.018)associated with *** infection among pregnant ***:Pregnant women in the rural communities of Taiz,Yemen are at high risk of contracting *** *** water sources(wells,water streams and water tanks)are significantly associated with *** infection and should be considered in prevention and control strategies,especially among pregnant women.

Water induced decomposition of Cu3（BTC）2 （BTC= benzene-l,3,5-tricarboxylate） metal-organic framework （mOF） was studied using dynamic water vapour adsorption. Small-angle X-ray scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry analyses revealed that the underlying mechanism of Cu3（BTC）2 mOF decomposition under humid streams is the interpenetration of water molecules into Cu-BTC coordination to displace organic linkers （BTC） from Cu centres.

The reliability of quasi integrable and non-resonant Hamiltonian system under fractional Gaussian noise(fGn)excitation is *** rather flat fGn power spectral density(PSD)in most part of frequency band,the fGn is innovatively regarded as a wide-band ***,the stochastic averaging method for quasi integrable Hamiltonian systems under wide-band noise excitation is applied to reduce 2n-dimensional original system into n-dimensional averaged ltd stochastic differential equations(SDEs).Reliability function and mean first passage time are obtained by solving the associated backward Kolmogorov equation and Pontryagin *** validity of the proposed procedure is tested by applying it to an example and comparing the numerical results with those from monte Carlo simulation.
