A translucent wooden substrate with long-lasting phosphorescence,high photostability and durability,tough surface,ultraviolet protection,high optical transmittance,and superhydrophobicity was developed.This long-lasting phosphorescent wooden substrate is able to continue emitting light for extended time periods.Lignin-modified wood(LmW)was immobilized with a solution of epoxy resin(ER)and rare-earth doped aluminate(REDA)phosphor nanoparticles(NPs).For an improved dispersion of pigment,REDA was synthesized in a nanoscale particle size,and characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEm)to indicate a particle size of 8-14 nm.The crystal structure of REDA nanoparticles was also proved by X-ray diffraction(XRD).For an improved production of long-persistent phosphorescent colo rless woods,REDA must be well-dispersed in mAA without aggregation.Absorption and emissio n,as well as decay and lifetime spectra were explored.The morphologies of the wooden substrates with different ratios of REDA were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEm),X-ray fluorescence(XRF)analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectra(FT-IR),elemental mapping,and energy-dispersion Xray(EDXA).The phosphorescent woods show changes in color from colorless to green under ultraviolet(UV)irradiation,and to yellowish-green in the dark,as proved by the colorimetric parameters of the CIE Lab system.The afterglow wood samples display an absorbance band at 365 nm and two phosphorescent bands at 431 and 520 nm.Improved UV shielding,photostability,and hydrophobicity were explored.With increasing REDA ratio,both static contact and slide angles are found to improve in the ranges of147.6°-163.6°and 9°-14°,respectively.The long-lasting photoluminescence is optimized at a REDA ratio of 8%.The present strategy shows a large-scale production approach of multiple functional woods for many potential applications,such as smart glow in the dark windows and safety signs.

On multi-Granulation Rough Sets with Its Applications

Recently,much interest has been given tomulti-granulation rough sets (mGRS), and various types ofmGRSmodelshave been developed from different viewpoints. In this paper, we introduce two techniques for the classificationof mGRS. Firstly, we generate multi-topologies from multi-relations defined in the universe. Hence, a novelapproximation space is established by leveraging the underlying topological structure. The characteristics of thenewly proposed approximation space are discussed.We introduce an algorithmfor the reduction ofmulti-relations.Secondly, a new approach for the classification ofmGRS based on neighborhood concepts is introduced. Finally, areal-life application from medical records is introduced via our approach to the classification of mGRS.

The combined effects of farm yard manure and boron application on growth,and oil quality of Canola grown under newly reclaimed soils

Two field experiments were conducted during the main seasons of 2021/2022 at the Research and Production Station of National Research Centre in Egypt to investigate the effects of farmyard manure(FYm)and boron on Canola growth,yield,oil yield,and quality.The results unequivocally demonstrated that the combined application of FYm at a rate of 14.4 ton ha^(-1)with a foliar spray of boron at 100 ppm positively influenced plant characteristics,leading to enhanced growth rates and higher yields compared to the control group.moreover,this integrated approach significantly improved nutrient content by enhancing levels of oil content,carbohydrates,proteins,phenolics,flavonoids,and total soluble sugars.These findings provide compelling evidence that utilizing farm manure along with boron can effectively enhance Canola properties in newly reclaimed soils while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Effectiveness of biofertilizers foliar application on yield and quality traits of flax(Linum usitatissimum L.)

Flax is considered to be one of the most significant dual-purpose crops for oil and fiber production in Egypt and worldwide.Biofertilizers have a substantial impact on various metabolic processes,including increased photo-synthesis,endogenous hormone levels,ion absorption,nucleic acid synthesis,and protein synthesis.These factors collectively contribute to the growth and development of plants.Therefore,this study aims to investigate how three biofertilizers(Algae extract,CmS as a by-product of yeast,and metalosate multi minerals as amino acids)can enhance both the quantity and quality of flax seed yield under sandy soil conditions.Two field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Station of National Research Centre in Nubaria District,Behira Governorate,Egypt during two seasons(2021/2022)using a randomized complete block design(RCBD).The results revealed significant differences among all tested biofertilizers in terms of various characteristics studied in flax.Foliar application of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L resulted in an increase in seed yield(ton/ha)by 26.69%&19.89%,straw yield(ton/ha)by 8.08%&17.12%,and oil yield(kg/ha)by 47.72%&33.69%compared to the control group during both seasons respectively.Foliar applications of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L along with CmS at a rate of 5 m L/L and amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/L demonstrated significantly higher macronutrient contents(N,P,K),micronutrient contents(Fe,Zn,mn),seed oil content,and protein content in flax seeds during both seasons.The highest values for seed oil content and protein content%were obtained through foliar application of amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/L.It can be concluded that foliar sprays with these bio-fertilizers effectively improved flax performance by increasing seed straw and oil yields,nutrients oil,protein and fatty acids seeds contents.

many recent studies are concerned with low cost,easy to handle and alternative renewable energy as a feasible solution for the upcoming crisis of energy shortage.microalgae are unicellular entities the can only depend on CO_(2),water and solar power to cover their nutritional needs.The current study is concerned with using algal cells in a polymeric hydrogel,as a cheap source of energy for electricity generation.Chlorella vulgaris has been proved to be a promising algal species for electricity generation,as compared with micractinium reisseri.PVA hydrogel has been used for the immobilization of both algal species in order to protect them from the adverse surrounding conditions in addition to its ability to slowly release the required water molecules according to needs.Under these conditions,C.vulgaris showed the ability to generate 60 mV compared with 15 mV generated by m.reisseri.Scanning electron micrographs showed nano-threads that bind the C.vulgaris cells to each other,indicating the ability of algae to create nanowires that facilitate the electron transfer among algal cells and from cells to the nearest electrode.However,we would expect an increase in the produced potential with simultaneous amendment of environmentally polluted water,such as sewage or waste water.Both of FTIR and raman spectroscopy proved the presence of the characteristic groups of PVA hydrogel and proved the proper integration of the algal cells inside the hydrogel cavities.

Advances in clinical applications of bioceramics in the new regenerative medicine era

In this editorial,we comment on the hard and soft tissue applications of different ceramic-based scaffolds prepared by different mechanisms such as 3D printing,sol-gel,and electrospinning.The new concept of regenerative medicine relies on biomaterials that can trigger in situ tissue regeneration and stem cell recruitment at the defect site.A large percentage of these biomaterials is ceramic-based as they provide the essential requirements of biomaterial principles such as tailored multisize porosity,antibacterial properties,and angiogenic properties.All these previously mentioned properties put bioceramics on top of the hierarchy of biomaterials utilized to stimulate tissue regeneration in soft and hard tissue wounds.multiple clinical applications registered the use of these materials in triggering soft tissue regeneration in healthy and diabetic patients such as bioactive glass nanofibers.The results were promising and opened new frontiers for utilizing these materials on a larger scale.The same results were mentioned when using different forms and formulas of bioceramics in hard defect regeneration.Some bioceramics were used in combination with other polymers and biological scaffolds to improve their regenerative and mechanical properties.All this progress will enable a larger scale of patients to receive such services with ease and decrease the financial burden on the government.

Water contaminated with pathogenic microbes is considered as one of the most common routes for transmitting diseases in human beings.Different methods have been applied for the decontamination of microbes in contaminated water.In the current study,an easy to do hydrothermal method has been used for the preparation of TiO_(2)-Ag nanoparticles.The obtained material was characterised using a scanning electron microscope(SEm)and fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy(FTIR).The morphological appearance of the obtained nanoparticles was in the shape of a sphere with a size range of 60-90 nm.The antimicrobial activity of the prepared nanoparticles was tested against several pathogenic bacteria and fungi.The obtained results proved that the nanoparticles succeeded to affect all the tested microbes in the following order:Bacillus cereus ATCC6633>Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC9027=Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC13883>Vibrio cholera ATCC700=Candida albicans ATCC 700=Escherichia coli NCTC10418>Staphylococcus aureus ATCC6538.The minimum inhibitory concentration(mIC)of the prepared nanoparticles varied among the tested microbes at range of 12 mg/ml and 25 mg/ml.These results encourage the application of prepared TiO_(2)-Ag nanoparticles for treatment of microbe-contaminated waters.

Development of sustainable thermal insulation based on bio-polyester filled with date pits

Date palm pit(DPP)-filled poly(-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)composites were prepared,evaluated,and characterized to determine their thermal insulation ability.Thermal conductivity values ranged between 0.086 and 0.100 W/(m·K).At a maximum filler concentration(50%(w)),the specific heat capacity and thermal diffusivity were 1183 J/(kg·K)and 0.0689 mm^(2)/s,respec-tively.The DPP increased the thermal stability,and the highest compressive strength obtained was 80 mPa at 30%filler content.The PHB-DPP composites exhibited promising water absorption(less than 6%)and tensile strength(6-14 mPa).Date-pit-based PHB composites could be used in sustainable building engineering and cleaner production.

Nonlinear fractional differential equations provide suitable models to describe real-world phenomena and many fractional derivatives are varying with time and space.The present study considers the advanced and broad spectrum of the nonlinear(NL)variable-order fractional differential equation(VO-FDE)in sense of VO Caputo fractional derivative(CFD)to describe the physical models.The VO-FDE transforms into an ordinary differential equation(ODE)and then solving by the modified(G/G)-expansion method.For ac-curacy,the space-time VO fractional Korteweg-de Vries(KdV)equation is solved by the proposed method and obtained some new types of periodic wave,singular,and Kink exact solutions.The newly obtained solutions confirmed that the proposed method is well-ordered and capable implement to find a class of NL-VO equations.The VO non-integer performance of the solutions is studied broadly by using 2D and 3D graphical representation.The results revealed that the NL VO-FDEs are highly active,functional and convenient in explaining the problems in scientific physics.
