mouse B1 B cells originate in the embryonic liver and are the major B-cell population in the peritoneal and pleural cavities.1–5 By contrast,mouse B2 B cells originate in the bone marrow and are the major B-cell population in the bone marrow,spleen,and blood.B1 and B2 B cells differ not only in their origin and locations,but also in their antigen specificity,cell surface markers,capacities for class-switch recombination(CSR)and somatic hypermutation(SHm).IgH cis-regulatory regions and,particularly,transcriptional super-enhancers are major locus regulators under both normal and pathological conditions.6,7 Important differences have been found regarding the ability of the IgH 3′regulatory region(3′RR)super-enhancer to control the B1 and B2 B-cell fate.

A simple, rapid, accurate and highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method has been developed for determination of some angiotensin II receptor antagonists (AIIRA’s), namely Losartan potassium (Los-K), Irbesartan (Irb), Valsartan (Val) and Candesartan cilexetil (Cand) in pure forms as well as in their pharmaceutical dosage forms. All the variables affecting the relative fluorescence intensity (RFI) were studied and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, linear relationships with good correlation coefflcients (0.9982–0.9991) were obtained over the concentration range from 0.006 mg/mL to 1.7 mg/mL. Good accuracy and precision were successfully obtained for the analysis of tablets containing each drug alone or combined with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) without interferences from the co-formulated HCTZ or the additives commonly present in tablets.

Study of nucleons charge radii and electromagnetic form factors are expected to provide valuable information about the distribution of electric charge within the fundamental particles in nucleon’s inner structure. In the recent years, dramatic progress has been made in the understanding of the nucleon structure and the precision of its partonic content, due to the vast theoretical progress, and the availability of new high precision measurements. Here in this article, we present a simple model for the charge structure of the nucleons and the most available sets of the structure functions to calculate the mean square charge radius N2> for both protons and neutrons. Our results are consistent with the modern understanding of the nucleons as well as recent experimental data. We discuss the origin of the sign rN2> for both proton and neutron.

Potentiality of Secondary Aquifers in Saudi Arabia: Evaluation of Groundwater Quality in Jubaila Limestone

Groundwater scarcity in arid regions may hinder development plans and cause many inconveniences for the population and authorities. Saudi Arabia has limited groundwater resources stored in the sedimentary sequence of the Arabian Shelf. Some of these resources were classified as major aquifers, secondary and minor aquifers, and some were considered as aquicludes. The Jubaila Limestone is one of the secondary aquifers of Saudi Arabia. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the groundwater resources of the Jubaila Limestone in Riyadh area, with emphasis on groundwater quality. Groundwater was found to occur in fractures and within solution openings of the Jubaila Limestone at depths which range between 19 and 210 m. The transmissivity value was 1.7 × 10–3 to 7.2 × 10–3 m2/s;the storage coefficient was of 1.3 × 10–4. The electrical conductivity for collected water samples ranged between 831 and 7670 μS/cm. The major ionic relationships were Na > Ca > mg and SO4Cl > HCO3. The groundwater evolves from NaCl dominated at the southern end of the study area, into Ca, mgSO4 water in the north. The main chemical process responsible of this variation was found to be dissolution of anhydrite and gypsum. The groundwater was not found suitable for drinking purposes but can be used by livestock and for some agricultural purposes.

Distance protection of transmission lines including advanced flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) de-vices has been a very challenging task. FACTS devices of interest in this paper are static synchronous series compensators (SSSC) and unified power flow controller (UPFC). In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed to detect and classify the fault and identify the fault position in a transmission line with respect to a FACTS device placed in the midpoint of the transmission line. Discrete wavelet transformation and wavelet entropy calculations are used to analyze during fault current and voltage signals of the compensated transmission line. The proposed algorithm is very simple and accurate in fault detection and classification. A variety of fault cases and simulation results are introduced to show the effectiveness of such algorithm.

Background Ciliopathies are a group of diseases associated with abnormal structure or function of primary cilia. Ciliopathies include polycystic kidney disease （PKD）, a pathology associated with vascular hypertension. We previously showed that cilia length regulates cilia function, and cilia function is required for nitric oxide （NO） biosynthesis in endothelial cells. Because patients with PKD show abnormal sensory cilia function, the aim of our current study was to search for a targeted therapy focused on primary cilia, which we refer to as ＇cilio- therapy＇. methods and Results In the present studies, our in vitro analyses refined fenoldopam as an equipotent and more specific dopa- minergic agonist to regulate cilia length and function. Our in vivo studies indicated that fenoldopam increased cilia length and serum NO thereby reducing blood pressure in a PKD mouse model. Our crossover, multicenter, double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical study further indicated that cilia-targeting therapy showed an overall reduction in mean arterial pressure in PKD patients. Conclusions Overall, our studies provide the first evidence of ciliotherapy as an innovative intervention in patients with abnormal primary cilia.

Data release 2(DR2) from the Gaia mission was of great help in precise determination of fundamental parameters of Close Visual Binary and multiple Systems(CVBmSs), especially masses of their components, which are crucial parameters in understanding formation and evolution of stars and galaxies. This article presents the complete set of fundamental parameters for two nearby close visual binary systems(CVBSs), which are HIP 19206 and HIP 84425. We utilised a combination of two methods;the first one is Tokovinin's dynamical method to solve the orbit of the system and to estimate orbital elements and the dynamical mass sum, and the second one is Al-Wardat's method for analysing CVBmSs to estimate the physical parameters of the individual components. The latest method employs grids of Kurucz lineblanketed plane parallel model atmospheres to build synthetic Spectral Energy Distributions(SEDs) of the individual components. Trigonometric parallax measurements given by Gaia DR2 and Hipparcos catalogues are used to analyse the two systems. The difference in these measurements yielded slight discrepancies in the fundamental parameters of the individual components, especially masses. So, a new dynamical parallax is suggested in this work based on the most convenient mass sum as given by each of the two methods. The new dynamical parallax for the system HIP 19205 of 22.97±0.95 mas coincides well with the trigonometric one reported recently(in December 2020) by Gaia EDR3 of 22.3689 ± 0.4056 mas. The positions of the components of the two systems on the evolutionary tracks and isochrones are plotted, which suggest that all components are solar-type main sequence stars. Their most probable formation and evolution scenarios are also discussed.

具有特殊润湿性的表面在油水分离、防污、自洁、液体输送和生物医学等领域都具有巨大的应用潜力。受自然界某些具有优异浸润性的生物表面的启发,学者们制备了超亲水和水下超疏油表面,可以实现机械结构和家用设施表面防油污和自清洁功能,还可以实现油水分离。然而,保持固体表面长期的润湿性和力学性能仍然是研究人员面临的主要挑战。为了解决油液污染水体和防止油/蜡在固体表面沉积导致管道堵塞的问题,本研究利用两种不同的方法制备出超亲水和水下超疏油表面。利用JCP-500磁控溅射设备制备出钨(W)和Ti N/WO薄膜。在稳定大气条件下,将所制出的薄膜在不同温度下进行退火处理,通过热诱导制备具备超亲水性的表面。然后对制备的表面进行水接触角(WCA)和水下油接触角(UOCA)测量,研究涂层材料、表面结构和退火温度对表面浸润性的影响。同时,借助扫描电镜(SEm)、X射线衍射(XRD)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)和能谱(EDS)对其理化性质进行了研究和分析。首先,受鱼鳞和尾鳍水下超疏油特性的启发,通过使用紫外纳秒激光烧蚀不锈钢试样,制备具有两种不同的微观结构的表面,然后经过磁控溅射沉积钨(W)膜并进行热处理,最终制备出可应用于防污和自洁的表面。其次,受西兰花芽的抗润湿特性的灵感启迪,通过水热处理和磁控溅射技术在基体表面上沉积了Ti N/WO涂层材料并进行热处理,在不锈钢网上制备出具有西兰花状层次结构的超亲水和水下超疏油表面,成功地应用于油水分离实验。实验结果表明,用激光烧蚀并进行W涂层的不锈钢样品,以及经水热处理后进行Ti N/WO3涂层的不锈钢网,将两者在300℃高温下退火后,均具有高润湿性,且水的接触角均接近0°。制备的表面表现优异润湿性的原因有三点:其一是新制备的薄膜具有高表面自由能;其二是300℃退火时表面会产生大量的羟基;其三是粗糙表面结构的毛细管效应。同时,在水-油-固体界面系统中,制备的表面截留了水,使之形成水膜,最小化了油-固体的接触面积,并显著增强了水下疏油性。经检验,两个表面上的水下油接触角(UOCA)均超过155°。最重要的是,与单层氧化钨(WO)相比,在300℃下退火的Ti N/WO薄膜具有更稳定的润湿性。经300℃下退火的Ti N/WO薄膜含有更丰富的羟基,且在300℃下退火后在Ti N/WO薄膜上会形成掺杂有N的Ti O。此外,一旦这些网格被有机分子污染并失去其独特的表面润湿性,在Ti O和WO的光催化作用下,照射紫外线(UV)可以轻易使其恢复原始的润湿性和分离性能。在油水分离过程中,仅由重力提供动力,无需外力驱动。经过处理的600级不锈钢网(孔径m)在大约15个分离循环中可保持高达95%的分离效率,而经过处理的400级不锈钢网(孔径=33μm),在相同的分离循环次数下,其分离效率约为94%左右。此外,制备的不锈钢网可以阻止不同类型的机油。经测量,处理后的600级不锈钢网上累积的发动机机油的最大高度约为17 cm,等效突破压力为1.451 k Pa;处理后的400级不锈钢网和600级不锈钢网的水通量(J)分别为3650 L*m-2*h-1和2864 L*m-2*h-1。
