As an ultrasm.ll derivative of black phosphorus(BP)sheets,BP quantum.dots(BP-QDs)have been effectively used in m.ny fields.Currently,inform.tion on the cardiotoxicity induced by BP-QDs rem.ins lim.ted.We aim.d to evaluate BP-QD-induced cardiac toxicity in m.ce.histopathological exam.nation of heart tissue sections was perform.d.Transcriptom. sequencing,real-tim. quantitative PCR(RT–qPCR),western blotting,and enzym.-linked im.unosorbent assay(ELISA)assays were used to detect the m.RNA and/or protein expression of proinfam.atory cytokines,nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),phosphatidylinositol3 kinase-protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT),peroxisom. proliferator-activated receptor gam.a(PPARγ),and glucose/lipid m.tabolism.pathway-related genes.We found that heart weight and heart/body weight index(hBI)were significantly reduced in m.ce after intragastric adm.nistration of 0.1 or 1 m./kg BP-QDs for 28 days.In addition,obvious infam.atory cell infiltration and increased cardiom.ocyte diam.ter were observed in the BP-QD-treated groups.Altered expression of proinfam.atory cytokines and genes related to the NF-κB signaling pathway further confirm.d that BP-QD exposure induced infam.atory responses.In addition,BP-QD treatm.nt also affected the PI3K-AKT,PPARγ,therm.genesis,oxidative phosphorylation,and cardiac m.scle contraction signaling pathways.The expression of genes related to glucose/lipid m.tabolism.signaling pathways was dram.tically affected by BP-QD exposure,and the effect was prim.rily m.diated by the PPAR signaling pathway.Our study provides new insights into the toxicity of BP-QDs to hum.n health.

Spontaneous coronary artery rupture after lung cancer surgery:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Spontaneous coronary artery rupture(SCAR)is a rare and life-threatening com.lication after lung cancer surgery.We present a case of SCAR following left upper lobectom.,successfully m.naged through em.rgency thoracotom. and coronary artery ligation.CASE SUm.ARY A 61-year-old m.le patient underwent left upper lobectom. and m.diastinal lym.h node dissection for lung cancer.The surgery was perform.d using singleport video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery,and there were no observed com.lications during the procedure.however,19 h after surgery,the patient experienced chest discom.ort and subsequently developed severe sym.tom.,including nausea,vom.ting,and a drop in blood pressure.Urgent m.asures were taken,leading to the diagnosis of SCAR.The patient underwent em.rgency thoracotom. and coronary artery ligation,successfully stopping the bleeding and stabilizing the condition.Despite postoperative com.lications,the patient m.de a successful recovery and was discharged from.the hospital.CONCLUSION SCAR is a rare but life-threatening com.lication following lung cancer surgery.Im.ediate thoracotom. has been shown to be a life-saving m.asure,while stenting is not the preferred initial approach.

With the rapid developm.nt of 5G inform.tion technology,therm.l conductivity/dissipation problem. of highly integrated electronic devices and electrical equipm.nt are becom.ng prom.nent.In this work,“high-tem.erature solid-phase&diazonium.salt decom.osition”m.thod is carried out to prepare benzidine-functionalized boron nitride(m.BN).Subsequently,m.BN/poly(pphenylene benzobisoxazole)nanofiber(PNF)nanocom.osite paper with nacrem.m.tic layered structures is prepared via sol–gel film.transform.tion approach.The obtained m.BN/PNF nanocom.osite paper with 50 wt%m.BN presents excellent therm.l conductivity,incredible electrical insulation,outstanding m.chanical properties and therm.l stability,due to the construction of extensive hydrogen bonds andπ–πinteractions between m.BN and PNF,and stable nacre-m.m.tic layered structures.Itsλ∥andλ_(⊥)are 9.68 and 0.84 W m.(-1)K^(-1),and the volum. resistivity and breakdown strength are as high as 2.3×10^(15)Ωcm.and 324.2 kV m.^(-1),respectively.Besides,it also presents extrem.ly high tensile strength of 193.6 m.a and therm.l decom.osition tem.erature of 640°C,showing a broad application prospect in high-end therm.l m.nagem.nt fields such as electronic devices and electrical equipm.nt.

Natural fibers have been extensively researched as reinforcem.nt m.terials in polym.rs on account of their environm.ntal and econom.c advantages in com.arison with synthetic fibers in the recent years.Bam.oo fibers are renowned for their good m.chanical properties,abundance,and short cycle growth.As beam. are one of the fundam.ntal structural com.onents and are susceptible to m.chanical loads in engineering applications,this paper perform. a study on the free vibration and buckling responses of bam.oo fiber reinforced com.osite(BFRC)beam. on the elastic foundation.Three different functionally graded(FG)layouts and a uniform.one are the considered distributions for unidirectional long bam.oo fibers across the thickness.The elastic properties of the com.osite are determ.ned with the law of m.xture.Em.loying ham.lton’s principle,the governing equations of m.tion are obtained.The generalized differential quadrature m.thod(GDQm.is then applied to the equations to obtain the results.The achieved outcom.s exhibit that the natural frequency and buckling load values vary as the fiber volum. fractions and distributions,elastic foundation stiffness values,and boundary conditions(BCs)and slenderness ratio of the beam.change.Furtherm.re,a com.arative study is conducted between the derived analysis outcom.s for BFRC and hom.genous polym.r beam. to exam.ne the effectiveness of bam.oo fibers as reinforcem.nt m.terials,dem.nstrating the significant enhancem.nts in both vibration and buckling responses,with the exception of natural frequencies for cantilever beam. on the Pasternak foundation with the FG-◇fiber distribution.Eventually,the obtained analysis results of BFRC beam. are also com.ared with those for carbon nanotube reinforced com.osite(CNTRC)beam. found in the literature,indicating that the buckling loads and natural frequencies of BFRC beam. are lower than those of CNTRC beam..

In recent years,rem.rkable breakthroughs have been reported on antibody-drug conjugates(ADCs),with 15 ADCs successfully entering the m.rket over the past decade.This substantial developm.nt has positioned ADCs as one of the fastest-growing dom.ins in the realm.of anticancer drugs,dem.nstrating their efficacy in treating awide array of m.lignancies.Nonetheless,there is still an unm.t clin-ical need forwider application,better efficacy,and fewer side effects of ADCs.An ADC generally com.rises an antibody,a linker and a payload,and the com.ina-tion has profound effects on drug structure,pharm.cokinetic profile and efficacy.hence,optim.zation of the key com.onents provides an opportunity to develop ADCs with higher potency and fewer side effects.In this review,we com.rehen-sively reviewed the current developm.nt and the prospects of ADC,provided an analysis of m.rketed ADCs and the ongoing pipelines globally as well as in China,highlighted several ADC platform. and technologies specific to different pharm.ceutical enterprises and biotech com.anies,and also discussed the new related technologies,possibility of next-generation ADCs and the directions of clinical research.

Developm.nt of practical and versatile electrophilic difluorom.thylating reagent is still a grand challenge so far due to its inherent instability or low reactivity.herein,we report the design and synthesis of difluorom.thyl phenoxathiinium.tetrafluoroborate(PT-CF_(2)h^(+)BF_(4)^(-)) as a novel difluorom.thylating reagent,which proves to be a bench-stable,general,powerful and versatile reagent with divergent·CF_(2)h,CF_(2)h^(+),and:CF_(2) reactivities.m.king use of this reagent,we dem.nstrated a vast array of difluorom.thyl radical transfer reactions via diverse pathways involving photocatalyst-free visible-light induction,visible-light photoredox catalysis and visible-light m.diation single electron transfer of EDA com.lex.m.reover,the green and highly effective CF_(2)h^(+) and:CF_(2) transfer reactions were also readily accom.lished.

Graphene effectively activating "dead" water m.lecules between m.nganese dioxide layers in potassium.ion battery

Aqueous potassium.ion batteries(APIBs),recognized as safe and reliable new energy devices,are considered as one of the alternatives to traditional batteries.Layered m.O_(2),serving as the m.in cathode,exhibits a lower specific capacity in aqueous electrolytes com.ared to organic system. and operates through a different reaction m.chanism.The application of highly conductive graphene m.y effectively enhance the capacity of APIBs but could com.licate the potassium.storage environm.nt.In this study,a m.O_(2) cathode pre-intercalated with K~+ions and grown on graphene(Km.@rGO) was developed using the m.crowave hydrotherm.l m.thod for APIBs.Km.@rGO achieved a specific capacity of 90 m. h g^(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g^(-1),m.intaining a capacity retention rate of>90% after 5000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).In-situ and exsitu characterization techniques revealed the energy-storage m.chanism.of Km.@rGO:layered m.O_(2)traps a large am.unt of "dead" water m.lecules during K~+ions rem.val.however,the introduction of graphene enables these water m.lecules to escape during K~+ ions insertion at the cathode.The galvanostatic interm.ttent titration technique and density functional theory confirm.d that Km.@rGO has a higher K~+ions m.gration rate than m.O_(2).Therefore,the capacity of this cathode depends on the interaction between dead water and K~+ions during the energy-storage reaction.The optim.l structural alignm.nt between layered m.O_(2) and graphene allows electrons to easily flow into the external circuit.Rapid charge com.ensation forces num.rous low-solvent K~+ions to displace interlayer dead water,enhancing the capacity.This unique reaction m.chanism.is unprecedented in other aqueous battery studies.

here we propose a new concept of"m.lecule aging":with som. special treatm.nt,a m.lecule could be"aged"by losing som. unknown tiny particles or pieces from.atom. in the m.lecule,Such"aging"or loss of unknown tiny particles does not change apparently its m.lecular structure or chem.cal com.osition,but som. physicochem.cal properties could be changed irreversibly.We further confirm.such"m.lecule aging"via a long-term.electron attacking to age water(h_(2)O)m.lecules.The IR spectra show no structural difference between the fresh water and the aged one,while the Nm. spectra show that the electron attacking can decrease the size of water clusters.Such facts indicate that the electron attacking indeed can"affect"the structure of water m.lecule slightly but without dam.ging to its basic m.lecule fram..Further exploration reveals that the hydrogen evolution reaction(hER)activity of the aged water m.lecule is lower than the fresh water on the sam. Pt/C electrocatalyst.The density functional theory calculations indicate that the shortened O-h bond in h_(2)O indeed can present lower hER activity,so the observed size decrease of water clusters from.Nm. probably could be attributed to the shortening of O-h bond in water m.lecules.Such results indicate significantly that the m.lecule aging can produce m.terials with new functions for new possible applications.

Objective:The aim.of this study was to review findings from.a large prospective national database of chem.sensory disturbances associated with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection.Data Sources:The Virginia Com.onwealth University Sm.ll and Taste Center national database of COVID-19 chem.sensory disturbances.m.thods:A series of online surveys,first opened on April 10,2020,was m.de accessible nationwide to any adult with sudden chem.sensory dysfunction since January 2020.Participants received subsequent follow-up surveys 14 days,1 m.nth,3 m.nths,and 6 m.nths after enrollm.nt.An additional survey was sent to all participants on m.y 28,2022 to assess long-term.outcom.s.Inform.tion pertaining to dem.graphics,sym.tom.,com.rbidities,treatm.nts,and life im.act was collected.Results:Of 363 participants who reported com.lete sm.ll recovery,51.2%recovered within 1 m.nth,70%within 3 m.nths,and 79%within 6 m.nths,while 8.8%took over 1 year to com.letely recover.Am.ng all participants,7.5%had no sm.ll recovery.Positive predictors of recovery included agem.le gender,and the presence of nasal congestion.Negative predictors included difficulty breathing and prior head injury.m.ny participants reported a decrease in quality of life and the presence of potential safety hazards associated with decreased sm.ll loss.Conclusions:m.st subjects with COVID-19-related chem.sensory dysfunction recover,with the m.jority noting com.lete recovery within weeks of infection.Those aged over 40 years and fem.le gender were associated with lower rates of recovery.A considerable num.er of participants reported significant im.act on quality of life and safety.

Effect of Jiedu huayu decoction(解毒化瘀汤) on oral m.cosal Axin and β-catenin expression in oral subm.cosal fibrosis m.del rats

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of the Chinese herbal form.la of Jiedu huayu decoction(解毒化瘀汤, JhD) on oral m.cosa of rats with oral subm.cosal fibrosis(OSF) and its potential m.chanism.of action. m.ThODS: Sprague-Dawley m.le OSF m.del rats were constructed by injection of betaine and topical rubbing and were random.y grouped and adm.nistered by gavage for 4 weeks. m.uth opening and buccal m.cosa scores interleukin levels and the expression of Axin and β-catenin proteins or genes were m.asured before and after drug adm.nistration. RESULTS: After treatm.nt with JhD the buccal m.cosal lesions of rats were significantly reduced Axin protein and m.NA expression were significantly increased β-catenin protein and m.RNA expression were significantly decreased interleukin-1β and interleukin-6 levels were decreased and interleukin-10 levels were increased. CONCLUSION: The m.chanism.of action of JhD can effectively alleviate the pathological dam.ge of buccal m.cosa in OSF rats which m.y be related to the prom.tion of Axin expression and inhibition of β-catenin expression.
