We present a general form.lation based on punctual kriging and fuzzy concepts for im.ge restoration in spatial dom.in. Gray-level im.ges degraded with Gaussian white noise have been considered. Based on the pixel local neighborhood, fuzzy logic has been em.loyed intelligently to avoid unnecessary estim.tion of a pixel. The intensity estim.tion of the selected pixels is then carried out by em.loying punctual kriging in conjunction with the m.thod of Lagrange m.ltipliers and estim.tes of local sem.-variances. Application of such a hybrid technique perform.ng both selection and intensity estim.tion of a pixel dem.nstrates substantial im.rovem.nt in the im.ge quality as com.ared to the adaptive Wiener filter and existing fuzzykriging approaches. It has been found that these filters achieve noise reduction without loss of structural detail inform.tion, as indicated by their higher structure sim.larity indices, peak signal to noise ratios and the new variogram.based quality m.asures.

Boiling of water, for purification, com.only practiced in the world, has m.ny problem. associated with it like danger of scalding, scaling in the vessels, rem.val of useful m.nerals and blandness of taste etc. Water can be m.de safe for drinking sim.ly by heating at 65℃ for 6 m.nutes. A colour indicating strip was developed which changes colour from.red to purple at 67℃. Use of this strip can help in pasteurizing water without the above problem. and with considerable energy saving.

We fabricate Fe3O4 thin film. on Si（100） substrates at different tem.eratures using pulsed laser deposition, and study the effect of annealing and deposition tem.erature on the structural and m.gnetic properties of Fe3O4 thin film.. Subsequently, the film. are characterized by x-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm. and vibrating sam.le m.gnetom.tery （VSm.. The XRD results of these film. confirm.the presence of the Fe3O4 phase and show room.tem.erature ferrom.gnetism. as observed with VSm. We dem.nstrate the optim.zed deposition and annealing conditions for an enhanced m.gnetization of 854 em./cm. that is very high when com.ared to the bulk sam.le.

Self-sim.lar steady natural convection therm.l boundary layer flow from.a rotating vertical cone to anisotropic Darcian porous m.dium.is investigated theoretically and num.rically. The transform.d non-dim.nsional two-point boundary value problem.is reduced to a system.of coupled, highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are solved subject to robust surface and free stream.boundary conditions with the m.PLE 17 num.rical quadrature software. Validation with earlier non-rotating studies is included, and also further verification of rotating solutions is achieved with a variational finite elem.nt m.thod （FEm.. The rotational （spin） param.ter em.rges as an inverse function of the Grashof num.er. The influence of this param.ter, prim.ry Darey num.er, secondary Darcy num.er and Prandtl num.er on tangential velocity and swirl velocity, tem.erature and heat transfer rate are studied in detail. It is found that the dim.nsionless tangential velocity increases whilst the dim.nsionless swirl velocity and tem.erature decrease with the swirl Darcy num.er, tangential Darcy num.er and the rotational param.ters. The m.del finds applications in chem.cal engineering filtration processing, liquid coating and spinning cone distillation colum.s.

In this study,a m.them.tical m.del is form.lated to exam.ne the blood flow through a cylindrical stenosed blood *** stenosis disease is caused because of the abnorm.l narrowing of flow in the *** narrowing causes serious health issues like heart attack and m.y decrease blood flow in the blood *** m.deling helps us analyze such issues.A m.them.tical m.del is considered in this study to explore the blood flow in a stenosis artery and is solved num.rically with the finite difference *** artery is an elastic cylindrical tube containing blood defined as a viscoelastic fluid.A com.lete param.tric analysis has been done for the flow velocity to clarify the applicability of the defined ***,the flow characteristics such as the im.edance,the wall shear stress in the stenotic region,the shear stresses in the throat of the stenosis and at the critical stenosis height are *** obtained results show that the intensity of the stenosis occurs m.stly at the highest narrowing areas com.ared with all other areas of the vessel,which has a direct im.act on the wall shear *** is also observed that the resistive im.edance and wall shear pressure get the m.xim.m.values at the critical height of the stenosis.

Fatty acid esters have been prepared by reacting the acid C//1//8 with polyethylene glycols having varying num.ers of oxyethylene units (4-88 units) by the direct esterification reaction m.thod. Surface and interfacial tensions were studied at various experim.ntal conditions, including, concentration, tem.erature and chem.cal constitution of the surfactant. Critical m.celle concentrations (Cm.), surface excess and residual area occupied by each surface active agent m.lecule A have been calculated by using Gibb's equations. Cm. values range from.10 to 55 m.ltiplied by 10** m.nus **5 m.le/L for all studied agents, while the residual area occupied by each m.lecule varies from.0.6 to 1.5 nm.*2. Variation of Cm. of som. of these agents with tem.erature have been also exam.ned and the obtained data were used to calculate the heat of m.cellization delta H//m.and the entropy change during m.cellization delta S//m. Values of delta H//m.vary from.14.63 kJ/m.le to 2.717 kJ/m.le depending on the chem.cal constitution of the agent under consideration. Saindha salt is considered to be m.re advantageous than the other edible salts for the patients suffering from.diabetes,blood pressure and kidney *** explore the constituent elem.nts of this salt,laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) has been exploited for its qualitative and quantitative *** third harm.nic(355 nm. of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser has been used to produce the saindha salt plasm. and the tim. integrated optical em.ssion spectra were registered using a set of six m.niature spectrom.ters covering the spectral range of 230-805 *** spectroscopic analysis of the em.ssion spectra predom.nately revealed num.rous neutral or singly ionized em.ssion lines of Ca,m.,Na,K,Fe,Sr,Si,Li and *** laser produced plasm. was characterized by calculating the electron tem.erature from.the Boltzm.nn plots and the electron num.er density from.the Stark broadened line profile as a function of laser irradiance and distance from.the target *** relative concentration of the constituent elem.nts was extracted by the integrated line intensities of the strongest spectral line of each elem.nt using the self-calibration-LIBS(SC-LIBS) and one-line calibration free-LIBS(OLCF-LIBS) *** cross-validation,the LIBS results have been com.ared with that obtained from.the inductively coupled plasm.-m.ss spectroscopy(ICP-m.) showing good agreem.nt.

The effect of forests clear felling and associated burning on the population of soil nitrogen transform.ng bacteria and actinom.cetes are reported at three pair sites of Chittagong University cam.us, Bangla- desh in m.nsoon tropical clim.te. Clear felled area or burnt site and 15-21 year m.xed plantation of native and exotic species, situated side by side on low hill having Typic Dystrochrepts soil was represented at each pair site. At all the three pair sites, clear felled area or burnt site showed very significantly （p~_0.001） lower population of actinom.cetes, Rhizobium. Nitrosom.nas, Nitrobacter and am.onifying as well as deni- trifying bacteria com.ared to their adjacent m.xed plantation. From.en- vironm.ntal consideration, this finding has im.lication in m.naging natural ecosystem.
