The corrosion behaviour of the hard anodic coatings prepared by three different m.thods viz., conventional hard anodizing （C-HA）, pulse hard anodizing （P-HA） and low voltage room.tem.erature pulse hard anodizing （LVP- HA） on AA 6061 was com.ared using electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy （EIS） and linear polarisation. Scanning electron m.croscope （SEm. was used to study the surface m.rphology before and after corrosion. EIS data revealed that no significant difference in corrosion resistance was observed am.ng three types. Rp, Icorr and Ecorr were found to be highly stable over the exposure period up to 72 h which confirm. the excellent corrosion resistance. The studies indicate that the corrosion resistance of LVP-HA and P-HA, which are processed at lower voltage and at relatively higher tem.eratures, are com.arable to that of C-HA which is processed at sub-zero tem.eratures and high operating voltages. The corrosion resistance of all coatings was found to be im.roved after hydrotherm.l sealing.

This paper presents a hardware architecture using m.xed pipeline and parallel processing for com.lex division based on dichotom.us coordinate descent(DCD) iterations. The objective of the proposed work is to achieve low-latency and resource optim.zed com.lex divider architecture in adaptive weight com.utation stage of m.nim.m.variance distortionless response(m.DR)algorithm. In this work, com.utation of com.lex division is m.deled as a 2×2 linear equation solution problem.and the DCD algorithm.allows linear system. of equations to be solved with high degree of com.utational efficiency. The operations in the existing DCD algorithm.are suitably parallel pipelined and the perform.nce is optim.zed to 2 clock cycles per iteration. To im.rove the degree of parallelism. a parallel colum. vector read architecture is *** proposed work is im.lem.nted on the field program.able gate array(FPGA) platform.and the results are com.ared with state-of-art literature. It concludes that the proposed architecture is suitable for com.lex division in adaptive weight com.utation stage of m.DR beam.orm.r. We dem.nstrate the perform.nce of the proposed architecture for m.DR beam.orm.r em.loyed in m.dical ultrasound im.ging applications.

This paper describes a m.thodology for com.utation of reliability of m.m.ers of fixed offshore platform.structures, with respect to fatigue. Failure criteria were form.lated using fracture m.chanics principle. The problem.is coined as a “first passage problem.. The m.thod was illustrated through application to a typical plane fram. structure. The fatigue reliability degradation curve established can be used for planning in-service inspection of offshore platform.. A very lim.ted param.tric study was carried out to obtain insight into the effect of im.ortant variables on the fatigue reliability.

In this paper, a nonlinear m.del predictive control strategy which utilizes a probabilistic sparse kernel learning technique called relevance vector regression （RVR） and particle swarm.optim.zation with controllable random.exploration velocity （PSO-CREV） is applied to a catalytic continuous stirred tank reactor （CSTR） process. An accurate reliable nonlinear m.del is first identified by RVR with a radial basis function （RBF） kernel and then the optim.zation of control sequence is speeded up by PSO-CREV. Additional stochastic behavior in PSO-CREV is om.tted for faster convergence of nonlinear optim.zation. An im.roved system.perform.nce is guaranteed by an accurate sparse predictive m.del and an efficient and fast optim.zation algorithm. To com.are the perform.nce, m.del predictive control （m.C） using a determ.nistic sparse kernel learning technique called Least squares support vector m.chines （LS-SVm. regression is done on a CSTR. Relevance vector regression shows im.roved tracking perform.nce with very less com.utation tim. which is m.ch essential for real tim. control.

A sim.le, rapid, accurate and selective com.lexom.tric m.thod is proposed for the determ.na- tion of m.rcury(Ⅱ). m.rcury(Ⅱ) is first com.lexed with a known excess of EDTA and the surplus EDTA is back-titrated at pH 5. 0--6. 0 with lead nitrate, xylenol orange being used as indicator. Hexa- hydropyrim.dine-2-thione (HPT) is then added to displace EDTA from.the Hg-EDTA com.lex quan- titatively and the EDTA released is titrated with lead nitrate. Reproducible and accurate results are obtained for 2--55 m. of m.rcury, with a relative error of less than 0. 5% and standard deviation of less than 0.04.

Tuning Optical Properties of Graphene Oxide under Com.ressive Strain Using Wet Ball m.lling m.thod

We report on the effect of com.ressive stress on the optical properties of graphene oxide using a wet ball m.lling technique. For this purpose, graphene oxide was prepared using the m.dified Hum.er’s m.thod and subsequently processed with wet ball m.lling. X-ray diffraction infers a peak at 9.655° which is the allowed reflection for the graphene oxide. The William.on-Hall m.thod is used to quantify the strain on the 10 hrs and 20 hrs ball m.lled graphene oxide sam.les and is found to be 4.2% and 4.8% respectively. Although we applied strain on the graphene oxide, it actually helped to reduce the defects which are confirm.d by the intensity drop-off of D-peak in Ram.n spectroscopy. Indeed there exists a band gap alteration of 0.14 eV for an applied com.ressive strain of ~4.8%, hinting that the reduction in oxygen functional groups and the sam. is confirm.d with the Fourier Transform.Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The present results would be helpful in developing graphene oxide based flexible m.m.ries and optoelectronic devices.

Understanding variability in seed germ.nation am.ng populations is essential for planning an effective germ.lasm.collection for restoration and conservation *** knowledge of germ.nation and dorm.ncy patterns am.ng populations of desert grasses is crucial for determ.ning the potential of the species and populations to be used for restoration and conservation as well as forage *** in seed germ.nation of Panicum.turgidum.Forssk and Pennisetum.divisum.Gm.l.)*** the desert of Kuwait was evaluated in different populations in m.y *** of seed germ.nation(25 seeds and 4 replicates)was conducted for each population at night/day tem.eratures of 15℃/20℃and 20℃/30℃under the following light condition:continuous darkness or 12 h/12 h light/*** showed that seed m.sses of both species strongly varied according to their seed provenances,and both species produced heavier seeds in population with a higher soil electrical *** germ.nation percentage considerably varied between two species,and the variation in *** was greater(17%–49%)than that of ***(72%–93%).Germ.nation percentage in *** was greater at high tem.erature(20℃/30℃)than at low tem.erature(15℃/20℃).However,tem.erature regim.s had no effect on germ.nation percentage of *** *** germ.nation tim. of both species exhibited significant inter-population *** result is especially relevant to assure the selection of the best population of each species and the regeneration success of the *** this,inter-population variability also provides valuable inform.tion for enhancing our understanding of the m.chanism. that regulate seed germ.nation and how they m.ght be related to seed provenance.
