China with a long histor. of high-intensity anthr.pogenic distur.ances,was studied to explor. the contr.bution r.te and m.chanism.under.ying the alter.tion in hydr.dynam.cs and sedim.nt tr.nspor. under.each phase of hum.n activity.A state-of-the-ar. m.deling tool(TELEm.C-2d),was used to study the var.ations in the hydr.dynam.cs and sedim.nt tr.nspor.,accounting for.r.clam.tion-induced shor.line and dr.dging-induced topogr.phy *** r.sults indicated that:i)under.the influence of successive land r.clam.tion,the gener.l distr.bution of the Confluence Hydr.dynam.c Zone(CHZ)in LE var.ed fr.m.scatter.d to concentr.ted,and these zones m.ved 3–5 km.***)Lar.e-scale channel dr.dging weakened the r.sidual flow in LE,decr.asing the r.sidual flow in the Inner.Lingding Estuar.(ILE)by 62.45%.This was initiated by the enhancem.nt of tidal dynam.cs thr.ugh changes in the bottom.fr.ction caused by dr.dging in the *** contr.st,m.ssive r.clam.tion decr.ased the r.sidual flow in the ILE by 17.55%and incr.ased that in the Outer.Lingding Estuar.(OLE).iii)despite distur.ances r.lated to land r.clam.tion and dr.dging,the estuar.ne jet flow in LE r.m.ined a tur.ulent jet system.and the estuar.ne jet flow becam. m.r. *** addition,the position of the estuar.ne jet sour.e m.ved 6–13 km.***)Both r.clam.tion and dr.dging decr.ased the SSC in the ILE and incr.ased the SSC in the *** weakened the SSC in the ILE by 62.19%,wher.as dr.dging enhanced the SSC in the OLE by 49%.Spatially,r.clam.tion r.sulted in an incr.ase in the SSC near.the outlets and a decr.ase in the SSC in the nor.her. por.ion of the Wester. *** m.inly incr.ased the SSC in the nor.h
