This research was undertaken to study the effect of zr-enhanced plasm. electrolytic oxidation(PEO) as a pretreatm.nt on the corrosion perform.nce of epoxy coating applied on m.gnesium.in 3.5 wt.% Na Cl solution. The param.ters of delam.nation index along with coating dam.ge index were extracted through electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy(EIS) tests to determ.ne how zr m.y affect the corrosion protection of duplex PEO/epoxy coated sam.les. Pull-off adhesion tests were also accom.lished to form.a better understanding of zr-enhanced PEO coating’ function. According to the obtained results, the presence of zr can reduce the dam.ge to the coating system.by alm.st twice.

The com.lete and incom.lete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were m.asured using the in-beam.-ray m.thod around the Coulom. *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incom.lete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experim.ntally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of com.lete fusion(CF)above the Coulom. barrier and dom.nant near or below the Coulom. barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum.discretized coupled channel(CDCC)m.thod was perform.d for the aforem.ntioned CF and ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also com.ared with the m.asured CF cross section for different barrier param.ters,dem.nstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynam.c and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

AIm.To investigate the influence of ophthalm.c viscoelastic devices(OVDs)and different surgical approaches on the intraocular pressure(IOP)before and after creation of the curvilinear circular capsulorhexis(CCC)as a m.asure for anterior cham.er stability during this ***:Prospective experim.ntal WetLab study carried out on enucleated porcine *** was m.asured before and after CCC with the iCare Rebound tonom.ter(iCare ic200;iCare Finland Oy,Vantaa,Finland).The OVDs used were a cohesive one[z-Hyalin,Carl zeiss m.ditec AG,Germ.ny;hyaluronic acid(HA)]and a dispersive[z-Celcoat,Carl zeiss m.ditec AG,Germ.ny;hydroxy propylm.thylcellulosis(HPm.)].The CCC was created using Utrata forceps or 23 g m.croforceps in different com.inations with the ***:Using the Utrata forceps the IOP dropped from.63.65±6.44 to 11.25±3.63 m. Hg during the *** use of different OVDs m.de no *** the 23 g m.croforceps the IOP dropped from.65.35±8.15 to 36.55±6.09 m. *** difference between IOP drop using either Utrata forceps or 23 g m.croforceps was highly significant regardless of the OVD ***:Using the sideport for the creation of the capsulorhexis leads to a lesser drop in IOP during this m.neuver com.ared to the m.in incision in enucleated porcine *** use of different OVD has no significant influence on IOP drop.

Em.owering Rice Farm.rs in Nueva Ecija, Philippines: A Strategic Approach to Boosting Incom. through Special Purpose Rice Production

Low incom. is the m.in problem.of m.llions of farm.rs who are cultivating 4.81 m.llion hectares in the Philippines. This problem.is attributed to challenges specifically low yield, low quality of produce, and significant post-harvest losses, particularly in a resource-scarce setting. This study aim.d to help increase the farm.rs’ incom. in selected towns of Nueva Ecija through the prom.tion and use of special purpose rice production technology. Twenty (20) farm.r-cooperators in three towns of Nueva Ecija were selected to dem.nstrate the production technology covering a total area of 4.75 hectares during the dry season, and 3.3 hectares during the wet season, both in 2023. Extension m.dalities such as training, techno-dem. establishm.nt, inform.tion m.terial and technical assistance provision, and m.rket linkage were undertaken to enhance their knowledge, attitude, and skills on special rice production and enterprise. The study utilized the descriptive quantitative m.thod wherein the data were gathered through surveys, specifically personal interviews. Results showed that 70% of the farm.r-cooperators were m.le and 60% were living below the poverty threshold. The farm.rs were 53 years old on average and engaged in farm.ng as their prim.ry source of incom.. The average yield of special purpose rice particularly the CLS-2 variety was higher (6.46 m./ha and 6.22 m./ha during dry and wet seasons, respectively) than that of inbred or non-special rice. The incom. per hectare from.special purpose rice production per hectare was Php 75,420.00, which is higher than that of regular rice at Php 29,389.00, giving a higher benefit of Php 46,031.00. The technology adopters and area planted increased (from.6 to 9 and from.1.4 hectares to 2.75 hectares, respectively) in Licab, Nueva Ecija. The opposite was true in Sto. Dom.ngo and Guim.a, Nueva Ecija where farm.rs were discouraged by the m.rketing issues that arose.

Introduction: Highly active antiretroviral tritherapies have im.roved the quality of life of people living with HIV (PVVIH) and extended their life expectancy. However, the nervous system.is faced with a neurotropic virus that evolves chronically, som.tim.s creating neurological disorders directly or indirectly linked to stigm.tization or therapeutic effects. Objective: to determ.ne the prevalence of depression associated with suicidal risk (SR) and identify associated factors. Patients and m.thod: This was a prospective descriptive and analytical study from.January 1 to Novem.er 30, 2022, including all HIV-positive patients receiving or not receiving antiretroviral therapy. The study took place in the infectious diseases departm.nt of Brazzaville University Hospital. This departm.nt has an inpatient capacity of 36 beds, and an outpatient capacity of 25 patients per day, three tim.s a week. This is the largest center for PVVIH in Brazzaville. The Patient Heath Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9) was used to assess the degree of depression and suicidal risk. Therapeutic adherence was assessed using the m.risky questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Qualitative variables were expressed as num.ers and percentages, and quantitative variables as m.ans and standard deviations. Statistical tests were used according to their applicability criteria. For all tests, the significance threshold was set at 0.05. Results: A total of 150 patients were consulted, constituting the sam.le size. The prevalence of depression and suicidal risk was 32%. These patients had an average age of 42.83 ± 10.24 years, were fem.le (n = 101;67.3%), Christian (n = 97;64%), single (n = 68;45.3%). Stigm.tization (n = 75;50%) was the reason for attem.ted suicide. HIV was perceived as treatable (n = 103;68.7%), unlucky (n = 62;41.3%). Patients were WHO stage 1 (n = 105;70%). RS was present in 47 cases (31.3%). The Effect of Non-Contact Conditions in a Splinted Fixed Partial Denture on the Load Sharing m.chanism. A Finite Elem.nt Study

A com.uter-aided design m.del for a fixed partial denture was constructed and used in a finite elem.nt analysis to study the overall load sharing m.chanism.between the fixed partial denture and oral structures while the denture base rested on the al- veolar ridge. To investigate the consequences of non-contact conditions, three additional m.dels were generated incorporating a uniform.clearance of 0.125 m., 0.25 m., and 0.5 m., respectively. A 100 N static load located at the free end of the prosthesis was applied while the distal portion of the jaw was set fixed. The results show that whilst releasing the ridge alm.st entirely, the presence of the clearance drastically increased the load on the splinting teeth. A pull-out force on the canine tooth of about 44 N was com.uted, accom.anied by a m.sio-distal m.m.nt of about 500 ***. The com.ination of which was sim.lar to the tooth extraction m.neuver perform.d by the dentist. In contrast, the second prem.lar was found to bear a push-in force of alm.st 115 N. The first m.lar, though barely solicited in the contact condition, becam. substantially loaded in non-contact conditions, which validates the choice of sacrificing three teeth to support the denture.
