Natural m.nerals,abundant and easily obtained through sim.le physical processing,offer a cost-effective and environm.ntally friendly solution for dyeing wastewater disposal and air pollution *** study investigates the photocatalytic rem.val of NO using natural different types of dyes,loaded on natural sand,under visible light *** exam.ning various coating concentrations of dyes and sand weights,we discovered that sand loaded with Rhodam.ne B(RhB)exhibits high activity for the photo-oxidation of NO.A com.ination results of X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and therm.gravim.tric(TG)analyses confirm.the presence of SiO_(2),CaCO_(3),Al_(2)O_(3)and iron oxides as the m.in com.onents of the ***,studying RhB-loaded individual com.onents reveals that CaCO_(3)plays a crucial role in enhancing the NO rem.val *** results and theoretical calculations dem.nstrate the establishm.nt of a directional charge transfer channel from.CaCO_(3)to RhB,facilitating the adsorption and activation of m.lecular NO and O_(2).This work not only prom.tes the utilization of natural m.neral resources but also enriches the fields of environm.ntal photochem.stry and sem.conductor photocatalysis.

m.thionine(m.t)is an essential and first lim.ting am.no acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken em.ryonic developm.nt and *** present study exam.ned the effect of in ovo injection of DL-m.t and L-m.t sources and genotypes on chicken em.ryonic-intestinal developm.nt and *** eggs of the two genotypes,TETRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—com.ercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype,were random.y distributed into four treatm.nts for each *** treatm.nt groups include the following:1)control non-injected eggs(NoIn);2)saline-injected(SaIn);3)DL-m.t injected(DLm.;and 4)L-m.t injected(Lm..The in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of em.ryonic developm.nt;after hatching,eight chicks per group were sacrificed,and the jejunum.was extracted for *** results showed that both DLm.and Lm.groups had enhanced intestinal developm.nt as evidenced by increased villus width,villus height,and villus area(Pm.ared to the *** DLm.group had significantly reduced crypt depth,glutathione(GSH)content,glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3),occludin(OCLN)gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the Lm.group(Pm.2),occludin(OCLN),superoxide dism.tase 1(SOD1),and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(Pm.t enhanced intestinal developm.nt,and function,with genotypes responding differently under norm.l *** also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants,tight junction,and growth-related genes.

The im.lem.ntation of Building Inform.tion m.delling (BIm. m.thodology in the construction industry has been covering wide applicability with recognized benefits in designing, constructing and operating buildings. A recent short course organized in the University of Lisbon, actualized with the m.st relevant achievem.nt based in m.ster research, was offered to professionals of the industry, nam.ly, architects and civil engineers com.ng from.diverse engineering areas, environm.nt, construction, m.intenance, consult and patrim.nial enterprises and also from.public organizations like city councils. The proposed action covers the areas of construction (conflict analysis, planning and m.terials take-off), structures (interoperability, analyses and transfer of inform.tion between software) and the m.st recent Heritage Building Inform.tion m.delling (HBIm. topic. The course aim. to contribute to the dissem.nation of the potential of BIm.in the areas of designing, construction and refurbishing of historical buildings. The participants followed the course with great interest and satisfaction, form.lating several questions directed to the particular activity of each of the attendees.

The present work investigates the effect of high praseodym.um.oxide(Pr6O11)content on the m.crostructure and phase form.tion of m.llite(3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2))precursor by m.ans of the spark plasm. sintering process.30 wt%Pr6O11was added to a m.llite precursor consisting of alum.num.nitrate nonahydrate and tetraethyl orthosilicate through a high energy m.xer m.ll in ethanol *** spark plasm. sintering was perform.d at a te m.erature of 1200℃under 23 Pa vacuum.co nditions by applying initial and final pressure of 10 and 30 m.a,*** analysis confirm. the existence of m.llite,alum.na,Pr6O11,Pr2O3and quartz as the only crystalline *** im.ges reveal an interesting deposition of hexagonal-shaped Al_(2)O_(3)particles on polished surfaces and com.lex oxide phases of the fiber network adhering to alum.na particles in the form.of tails seen on the fracture ***,the bending strength of 213±21 m.a,Vickers hardness of 9.3±0.1 m.a and fracture toughness of6.21±0.12 m.a·m./2are obtained for the prepared com.osite.

The Building Inform.tion m.delling (BIm. m.thodology has been adopted in the construction industry, supporting the developm.nt of projects. Its im.lem.ntation has im.roved the collaboration and integration in the design context, increasing the accuracy of the project preparation and the decreasing additional costs and delays of the construction work. The m.in objective of the present research is to provide an overview of the state of the art of BIm.applications, nam.ly, concerning the construction planning. For that, the generation of a BIm.3D m.del, involving the disciplines of architecture, structures and water supply system.was perform.d. After, over the m.del a conflict analysis was applied, in order to verify the consistency of all the disciplines, when linked together. In order to obtain a visual sim.lation of the construction process, the correspondent 4D BIm.m.del was also generated. Along the developm.nt of the study, distinct BIm.software was applied over a case study. The m.in rem.rks of the capacities of the software, as well as the benefits and lim.tations verified were identified.

This paper investigates the participation of the fines fraction in the load-carrying structure of binary m.xtures of granular soils. For this purpose, various fractions of two fine sands were added to two coarse sands with the sam. particle size distribution, but different particle shape characteristics. Based on the results of 144 direct shear tests, it was found that fines participation in the load-bearing structure increases with fines content. At the sam. fines content, the participation of the fines in the load-carrying structure of loose m.xtures is greater than in sam.les that were initially com.acted. In addition, it was observed that fines participation rises with the increase in the average size of the fines fraction.

Despite the inherently advantages of the box colum., finding the best option for the I beam.to the box colum. connection is the m.in challenge in using the box colum. as a structural m.m.er for special m.m.nt fram.s. In this paper, the seism.c perform.nce of urtreinforced connection, weakened connection and strengthened connection was evaluated through a com.rehensive experim.ntal program. The seism.c com.arisons were fabricated by assessing the strength, ductility and energy dissipation in each configuration. Three full scale tests with several connections were carried out. All the specim.ns were subjected to cyclic loading and prior to failure by form.ng a plastic hinge in the beam. all the connections m.naged to reach an inelastic rotation of m.re than 6.0% rad. The experim.ntal and analytical results showed that the seism.c perform.nce of the strengthened connection with flange and shear plates turned out to be the m.st effective in the beam.to the box colum. connection. m.reover, the norm.lized stress distribution of the continuity plates revealed that the possibility of the weld fracture in unreinforced connection is m.re than other specim.ns.

The effect of potash as a nondurable finish on the flam.ability of 100% cotton fabric （plain 180 g/m.2） was investigated. The bone-drled weighed fabrics were dipped into suitable concentrations of potash, with a volum. of 100 m. at 20-2℃. The im.regnation was followed by m.ans of squeeze rolls and drying at 110 ℃. The sam.les were then reweighed with analytical precision. After conditioning overnight by using our ＂vertical flam. tester＂ the optim.m.add-on values to im.art flam.-retardancy to cotton fabric was determ.ned and expressed by 0.80 g of potash per 100 g fabric to be an efficient addition. Therm.gravim.tric analysis of pure cotton, treated cotton with potash at its optim.m.efficiency for donation of flam.-retardancy into cotton fabric was fulfilled and the therm.gram. were com.ared and com.ented. The effectiveness of this hydroxide was attributed to the heat dissipation by the rem.ining consum.d m.terial during the com.ustion. The results obtained are in favor of ＂Dust or Wall Effect Theory＂.
