This paper has been m.tivated by the following biological question: how influential m. desert uerosols in the transm.ssion of m.ningitidis serogroup A (m.nA)? A m.them.tical m.del for the dynam.cal transm.ssion of m.nA is considered,with the aim.of investigating the im.act of desert *** analysis of the m.del has been perform.d in order to determ.ne the im.act of related param.ters on m.ningitis *** derive the basic reproduction num.er *** prove that there exists a threshold param.ter ζ such that when R0 m.is globally asym.totically stable (GAS).However,when ζm.del exhibits the phenom.non of backward *** the endem.c level,we show that the num.er of infectious individuals in the presence of desert aerosols is larger than the correspond-ing num.er without the presence of desert *** conjunction with the inequality R0^0m.er without desert aerosols,we found that the ingestion of aerosols by carriers will increase the endem.c level,and the severity of the *** suggests that the control of m.nA passes through a com.ination of a large coverage vaccination of young susceptible individuals and the production of a vaccine with a high level of efficacy as well as respecting the hygienic rules to avoid the inhalation of desert *** results are supported by num.rical sim.lations.

背景乳酸酸中毒被认为是异丙酚输注综合征的一种早期信号。本次研究中，我们考察长时间异丙酚麻醉和吸入麻醉下血乳酸和pH的改变。方法选择长达8小时以上择期脊柱手术患者并对麻醉期间记录数据作回顾性分析。在麻醉时间（anesthesia tim.，AT）（±30分钟）与失血量（blood loss，BL）（±500m.）的前提下，异丙酚麻醉与吸入麻醉的患者人数匹配比为1：2。结果在合乎条件的246例患者中，50例患者接受异丙酚麻醉[AT=（10±2）小时，BL=（1955±1409）m.]，而匹配100例吸入麻醉患者[AT=（10±1）小时，BL=（1801±1543）m.]。其中分别有40例和72例患者具有完整的基础值和麻醉后8小时乳酸值，包含在主要的分析资料中。异丙酚组接受（8．8±2）m.·kg^-1·h^-1的异丙酚。吸入组患者年龄较异丙酚组大[（58±12）岁vs（51±15）岁，P=0．002]，但两组在性别、ASA分级、术中血流动力学改变和血管升压药物使用方面没有差异。8小时之后，吸入组血乳酸值比异丙酚组相对各自基础值水平上有较大的增加[高于基础值的改变：异丙酚，（0．48±0．72）m.ol／L；吸入麻醉，（1．2±1．2）m.ol／L。P=0．001]。结论在超过8小时的长时间脊柱手术中，吸入麻醉与异丙酚麻醉相比，更易伴有血乳酸值升高。需要前瞻性的研究以解释该发现的确切机制和临床意义。

Steroid horm.nes, alkylphenol ethoxylates（APEOs） and phthalic acid esters（PAEs） are em.rging endocrine disrupting chem.cals（EDCs） that can interfere with the endocrine function in organism. at low concentrations. The occurrence, distribution behavior, rem.val rate and the fate of 31 target EDCs in sewage treatm.nt plants, which consist of various treatm.nt facilities and receiving water in Hong Kong, were investigated. Estrone,nonylphenol-di-ethoxylate and diethyl phthalate were found to be dom.nant in each group of influent sam.les with concentrations ranging from.11–33, 747–3945 and 445–4635 ng/L,respectively. Conversely, progesterone, nonylphenol-m.no-ethoxylate and bis（2-ethylhexyl）phthalate were the m.st abundant in dewatered sludge, with concentrations ranging from.0.9–237, 75–19,743 and 4310–37,016 ng/g（dry weight）. The rem.val rates of prim.ry sedim.ntation and disinfection approaches were lower than 30% for m.st of the chem.cals,while those of activated sludge and reverse osm.sis were greater than 80% for m.re than two-thirds of the com.ounds, noticeably decreasing the estrogenic risk of sewage discharged into the environm.nt. Steroid horm.nes were rem.ved via biological degradation, while som. APEOs and PAEs adsorbed to the sludge. Victoria Harbor poses a low to m.dium.estrogenic risk m.inly contributed by estrone and estradiol and deserves attention.

Their clinical features were described. m.tational analysis of the FBN1 gene was perform.d using polym.rase chain reaction (PCR) technique and direct sequencing of exons 23 - 32,where the m.tational hotspots for severe form. of m.rfan syndrom. are *** Two m.ssense m.tations were successfully identified, a G3037A transition and an A3083T transversion, the latter being an unreported *** Taking advantage of the clustering phenom.non of m.tations in severe form. of m.rfan syndrom., one can identify FBN1 m.tations in these patients by first screening the m.tational hotspots,thus reducing the effort that would otherwise be m.ch greater because of the size of the gene.

Sarcina ventriculi is a Gram.positive organism.which has been reported to be found rarely,in the gastric specim.ns of patients with *** eight cases of Sarcina,isolated from.gastric specim.ns have been reported so *** has been im.licated in the developm.nt of gastric ulcers,em.hysem.tous gastritis and gastric *** report a case of 73-year-old m.le,with history of prior Billroth Ⅱ surgery and truncal vagotom.,who presented for further evaluation of iron deficiency *** upper endoscopy revealed diffuse gastric erythem.,along with retained *** revealed m.rked inflamm.tion with ulcer bed form.tion and presence of Sarcina *** patient was treated with ciprofloxacin and m.tronidazole for 1 wk,and a repeat endoscopy showed im.rovem.nt of erythem.,along with clearance of Sarcina *** of reported cases including ours suggests that Sarcina is m.re frequently an innocent bystander rather than a pathogenic ***,given its association with life threatening illness in two reported cases,it m.y be prudent to treat with antibiotics and anti-ulcer therapy,until further understanding is achieved.

This paper is focused on calibration of an intelligent network sim.lation m.del （INS1m. with reallife transportation network to analyse the INSIm.s feasibility in sim.lating com.uters＇ travel choice behaviour under the influence of real-tim. integrated m.ltim.dal traveller inform.tion （Im.I）. A transportation network m.del for the central and western areas of Singapore was sim.lated in PARAm.CS and integrated with INSIm.expert system.by m.ans of an application program.ing interface to form.the INSIm. Upon calibration, INSIm.was able to realistically present com.licated scenarios in which real-tim. Im.I was provided to com.uters and the network perform.nce m.asures being recorded.
