Chronic inflam.ation is often associated with alcoholrelated m.dical conditions. The key inducer of such inflam.ation, and also the best understood, is gut m.croflora-derived lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Alcohol can significantly increase the translocation of LPS from.the gut. In healthy individuals, the adverse effects of LPS are kept in check by the actions and interactions of m.ltiple organs. The liver plays a central role in detoxifying LPS and producing a balanced cytokine m.lieu. The central nervous system.contributes to anti-inflam.atory regulation through neuroim.unoendocrine actions. Chronic alcohol use im.airs not only gut and liver functions, but also m.lti-organ interactions, leading to persistent system.c inflam.ation and ultim.tely, to organ dam.ge. The study of these interactions m.y provide potential new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Pigs experience biological stress such as physiological, environm.ntal, and social challenges when weaned from.the sow. The process of weaning is one of the m.st stressful events in the pig＇s life that can contribute to intestinal and im.une system.dysfunctions that result in reduced pig health, growth, and feed intake, particularly during the first week after weaning. Technological im.rovem.nts in housing, nutrition, health, and m.nagem.nt have been used to m.nim.ze som. of the adverse effects of weaning stress, but a greater understanding of the biological im.act of stress is needed to im.rove strategies to overcom. weaning stress. The focus of this review paper is to briefly describe how the biological stress associated with weaning im.acts intestinal m.rphology, structure, physiology, and intestinal im.une responses that can im.act subsequent production efficiencies such as growth, intake, m.rbidity, and m.rtality.

Dear Editor,Since the late 1980s, traum. in China has been identified as a m.jor public health challenge, with trafic-related fatalities accounting for 80% of accidental deaths[1]. In 2019, Shenzhen had a total population of approxim.tely 20 m.llion, and from.2010 to 2017, both em.rgency m.dical services and the total num.er of traum. patients increased, with traum. accounting for 47.0% and 38.4% of all patients in 2010 and 2017, respectively[2,3]. This report describes the efforts to im.lem.nt program. and establish a traum. system.in Shenzhen, China.

In recent years,our world has experienced significant disruptions due to the COviD-19 pandem.c,and Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine,im.acting hum.n activities and the global *** paper explored air quality changes in Ukraine due to COVID-19,and Russia's invasion of Ukraine using on-dem.nd with a what-you-see-is-what-you-get *** the cOVID-19 pandem.c,strict quarantine policies in Ukraine led to a 2%reduction in tropospheric NO_(2) concentration before the lockdown and 4%during the lockdown *** like Kyiv,Donetsk,and Dnipro exhibited reductions of 5%,11%,and 16%,*** SO_(2) colum. concentration decreased by 6%before the lockdown and 2.5%during the lockdown period,except in high population density *** showed the highest reduction of 17%in SO_(2) concentration,while Donetsk and Dnipro exhibited an 11%***,during the Russian invasion,there was a significant increase in tropospheric NO_(2) concentration in heavily destroyed Kharkiv while m.st eastern regions experienced a *** total SO_(2) colum. was 48%higher before the war but reduced throughout the country after the war,except for in Kyiv and a few central *** findings can contribute to analyzing air pollution and building digital twin sim.lations for future reconstruction scenarios.
