In recent years, Voice over IP (VoIP) has im.acted global telecom.unications and networking trem.ndously. Traffic engineering and Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees for VoIP services pose a challenge for network researchers and designers. The repeated use of Internet Protocol shortest path towards the sam. destination m.y lead to unbalanced traffic situations and degraded network perform.nce. Therefore, load balancing and link utilization becom. the critical functions in Internet Protocol routing for providing Quality of Service assurance for VoIP application. The aim.of this work is to em.loy m.ltiprotocol Label Switching Network as a traffic engineering tool to enhance the QoS for VoIP applications. To achieve this, an effective m.ltiprotocol Label Switching Network load balancing architecture is developed that classifies the Internet traffic flows, routes the flows into m.ltiple paths. Flow arrival rate, packet loss rate and delay are m.asured and taken as the input param.ters and com.ared with the threshold values to identify the VoIP flow. Network load status is calculated by estim.ting the average buffer occupancy value and m.ltipath routing is triggered when the network load is high to enhance the QoS. The investigated perform.nce m.asures like throughput, delay and packet loss are reported to show the efficiency of the proposed technique for effective VoIP flows.

To understand the self sustained propagation of the plasm. jet/bullet in air under atm.spheric pressure, the ignition of the plasm. jet/bullet, the plasm. jet/bullet ignition point in the plasm. pencil, the form.tion tim. and the form.tion criteria from.a dielectric barrier configured plasm. pencil were investigated in this study. The results were confirm.d by com.aring these results with the plasm. jet ignition process in the plasm. pencil without a dielectric barrier. Electrical, optical, and im.ging techniques were used to study the form.tion of the plasm. jet from.the ignition of discharge in a double dielectric barrier configured plasm. pencil. The investigation results show that the plasm. jet form. at the outlet of the plasm. pencil as a donut shaped discharge front because of the electric field line along the outlet＇s surface. It is shown that the required tim. for the form.tion of the plasm. jet changes with the input voltage of the discharge. The input power calculation for the gap discharge and for the whole system.shows that 56% of the average input power is used by the first gap discharge. The estim.ted electron density inside the gap discharge is in the order of 1011 cm.-3. If helium.is used as a feeding gas, a m.nim.m.1.48× 10^-8 C charge is required per pulse in the gap discharge to generate a plasm. jet.

A New Com.ression Schem. for Secure Transm.ssion

Encryption techniques ensure security of data during transm.ssion. However, in m.st cases, this increases the length of the data, thus it increases the cost. When it is desired to transm.t data over an insecure and bandwidth-constrained channel, it is custom.ry to com.ress the data first and then encrypt it. In this paper, a novel algorithm. the new com.ression with encryption and com.ression （CEC）, is proposed to secure and com.ress the data. This algorithm.com.resses the data to reduce its length. The com.ressed data is encrypted and then further com.ressed using a new encryption algorithm.without com.rom.sing the com.ression efficiency and the inform.tion security. This CEC algorithm.provides a higher com.ression ratio and enhanced data security. The CEC provides m.re confidentiality and authentication between two com.unication system..

Characterization and seasonal distribution of m.croplastics in the nearshore sedim.nts of the south-east coast of India,Bay of Bengal

In view of increasing m.croplastics(m.s)contam.nation in the m.rine environm.nt and dearth of baseline data,a study was conducted on the abundance,characterization,and seasonal distribution of m.s in the nearshore sedim.nts of the south-east coast of *** sam.les(n=130)were collected at a distance of 1 km.and 10 km.from.the shore region at varying depths(8–45 m.along the Chennai to Puducherry coast(165 km.stretch),representing two seasons,i.e.,south-west(July 2019 and July 2020)and north-east(January 2020)*** average abundance of m.s at the 22 offshore sites along the Chennai to Puducherry coast varied from.9±4.3 to 19±12.9 particles/50 g dry weight,in July 2019 and January 2020,*** 2020 had an average abundance of 10±4.5 particles/50 g dry ***,high levels of m.s were found at 1km.stations and transects in proxim.ty to the river inlets,and tem.orally,the north-east m.nth recorded the m.xim.m.*** dom.nant m.rphotype was the filam.nt,and the m.jor polym.rs were polyethylene and *** Electron m.croscope(SEm.im.ges revealed the surface irregularity and degradation of m.s due to *** study highlights that high sedim.nt contam.nation by m.s occurs during heavy rainfall and accum.lates closer to river ***,this study suggests that appropriate m.nagem.nt of plastic wastes on the landside will reduce m. contam.nation in the m.rine environm.nt.

Under certain conditions, ultrafast pulsed laser interaction with m.tter leads to the form.tion of self-organized conical as well as periodic surface structures （com.only reffered to as, laser induced periodic surface structures, LIPSS）. The purpose of the present investigations is to explore the effect of fsec laser fluence and am.ient environm.nts （Vacuum.＆ 02） on the form.tion of LIPSS and conical structures on the Ti surface. The surface m.rphology was investigated by scanning electron m.croscope （SEm.. The ablation threshold with single and m.ltiple （N = 100） shots and the existence of an incubation effect was dem.nstrated by SEm.investigations for both the vacuum.and the 02 environm.nt. The phase analysis and chem.cal com.osition of the exposed targets were perform.d by x-ray diffraction （XRD） and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy （EDS）, respectively. SEm.investigations reveal the form.tion of LIPSS （nano ＆ m.cro）. FFT d-spacing calculations illustrate the dependence of periodicity on the fluence and am.ient environm.nt. The periodicity of nano-scale LIPSS is higher in the case of irradiation under vacuum.conditions as com.ared to 02. Furtherm.re, the 02 environm.nt reduces the ablation threshold. XRD data reveal that for the 02 environm.nt, new phases （oxides of Ti） are form.d. EDS analysis exhibits that after irradiation under vacuum.conditions, the percentage of im.urity elem.nt （A1） is reduced. The irradiation in the 02 environm.nt results in 15% atom.c diffusion of oxygen.

The surface, structural, and m.chanical properties of zirconium.after irradiation with Ti： sapphire laser（800 nm. 30 fs,1 k Hz） have been investigated. The zirconium.targets were exposed for a varying num.er of laser pulses ranging from.500 to 2000 at a fixed fluence of 3.6 J/cm.2 corresponding to an intensity of 1.2×10^14W/cm.2 in am.ient environm.nts of deionized water and propanol. A scanning electron m.croscope（SEm. was em.loyed to investigate the surface m.rphology of the irradiated zirconium. The SEm.analysis shows the form.tion of various kinds of features including nanoscale laser induced periodic surface structures（LIPSS）, sponge like surface structure, flakes, conical structures, droplets, pores, and cavities. The energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy（EDS） analysis exhibits the variation in chem.cal com.osition along with an enhanced diffusion of oxygen under both am.ient conditions. The crystal structure and phase analyses of the exposed targets were explored by x-ray diffraction（XRD） and Ram.n spectroscopy techniques, respectively. The XRD analysis confirm. the presence of various phases of zirconium.hydride and zirconia after ablation in both de-ionized water and propanol. However, excessive hydrides are form.d in the case of propanol. The Ram.n analysis supports the EDS and XRD results. It also reveals the presence of oxides（zirconia） after irradiation in both de-ionized water and propanol *** chem.cal reactivity of zirconium.was significantly im.roved in the presence of liquids which were accountable for the growth of novel phases and m.dification in the chem.cal com.osition of the irradiated Zr. A nanohardness tester was em.loyed to m.asure the nanohardness of the laser treated targets. The initial increase and then decrease in nanohardness was observed with an increase in the num.er of laser pulses in the de-ionized water environm.nt. In the case of propanol,a continuous decrease in hardness was observed.

Com.arison of structural diversity of tree-crop associations in Peripheral and Buffer zones of Gachabari Sal forest area,Bangladesh

The structural diversity of different tree-crop associations were studied at Gachabari Sal forest area of m.dhupur Garh on Buffer and Peripheral Zone during 2006. The total density, basal area of trees in the Buffer and Peripheral Zone were 155.5 trees·hm.(-2), 795.4 trees·hm.(-2) and 3.9 m.·hm.2, 5.8 m.2·hm.(-2), respectively. No regeneration and natural trees were found in Peripheral Zone and the Zone is totally occupied by exotic species where the Buffer Zone com.rised of both natural and exotic trees. The Peripheral Zone belonged to younger and sm.ller trees whereas the Buffer Zone belonged to m.xture of sm.ller, taller, younger and m.ture trees sim.ltaneously. For the practicing of different agroforestry system. both Zones have lost their original characters of Sal forest.
