The wadi dahab delta is in a dry, arid coastal zone within Egypt’s south Sinai Peninsula’s eastern portion. The prim.ry water source is the Quaternary coastal alluvial aquifer. The groundwater salinity varies from.890to 8213 m./L, with a m.an value of 3417 m./L. The dissolved m.jor ions have been used to calculate the seawater m.xing index(SWm.) using a linear equation that discrim.nates the groundwater m.stly affected by water–rock interaction(SWm. 1>) and other sam.les m.xed with Seawater(SWm. m.osition of groundwater for specifically chosen groundwater sam.les ranges from.0.645‰ to +5.212‰ for δ^(18)O and from.9.582‰ to + 22.778‰ for δ^(2)H, where the seawater represented by a Red Sea water sam.le(δ^(18)O + 1.64‰-δ^(2)H + 9.80‰) and reject brine water are considerably enriched the isotopic groundwater values. The geochem.cal NETPATH m.del constrained by the dissolved significant ions, isotopes, and the rock aquifer form.ng m.nerals as phases indicate the m.xing percent with the seawater ranges from.9% to 97% of seawater from.91% to 3% of original recharge water. According to the SEAWAT 3-D flow m.dels, seawater has penetrated the Northeastern Dahab delta aquifer, with the intrusion zone extending1500 m.inland. The salt dissolution, upwelling of saline water, recharge from.the upstream.m.untain block, and seawater encroachm.nt are the prim.ry aspects contributing to the deterioration of groundwater quality. These findings m.y have significance for effective groundwater withdrawal m.nagem.nt in arid locations worldwide with sim.lar hydrogeological system..

The m. 6.8 Adassil earthquake that occurred in the High Atlas on Septem.er 8,2023,was a catastrophic event that provided a rare opportunity to study the m.chanics of deep crustal *** research aim.d to decipher the rupture characteristics of the Adassil earthquake by analyzing teleseism.c waveform.data in conjunction with interferom.tric synthetic aperture radar(InSAR)observations from.both ascending and descending *** analysis revealed a reverse fault m.chanism.with a centroid depth of approxim.tely 28 km.exceeding the typical range for crustal *** result suggests the presence of cooler tem.eratures in the lower crust,which facilitates the accum.lation of tectonic *** earthquake exhibited a steep reverse m.chanism.dipping at 70°,accom.anied by m.nor strike-slip *** the geotectonic fram.work of the High Atlas,known for its volcanic legacy and resulting therm.l irregularities,we investigated the potential contributions of these factors to the initiation of the Adassil *** seism.city within the lower crust,away from.plate boundaries,calls for extensive research to elucidate its im.lications for regional seism.c hazard *** findings highlight the critical im.ortance of studying and preparing for significant seism.c events in sim.lar geological settings,which would provide valuable insights into regional seism.c hazard assessm.nts and geodynam.c paradigm..

Nanocom.osite film. consisting of carboxym.thyl cellulose,polyethylene oxide(Cm./PEO),and anatase titanium.diox-ide(TO)were produced by the use of sol-gel and solution casting ***2 nanocrystals were effectively incorporated into Cm./PEO polym.rs,as shown by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and attenuated total reflectance fourier transform.infrared(ATR-FTIR)*** roughness growth is at high levels of TO nanocrystals(TO NCs),which m.ans increasing active sites and defects in Cm./*** differential scanning calorim.try(DSC)therm.gram.,the change in glass transition tem.erature(Tg)val-ues verifies that the polym.r blend interacts with TO *** increm.nt proportions of TO NCs have a notable im.act on the dielectric perform.nces of the nanocom.osites,as *** electrical properties of the Cm./PEO/TO nanocom.osite undergo significant *** nanocom.osite film. exhibit a red alteration in the absorption edge as the concentration of TO NCs increases in the polym.r *** decline in the energy gap is readily apparent as the weight percentage of TO NCs *** photolum.nescence(PL)em.ssion spectra indicate that the sites of the lum.nescence peak m.xim.m. show slight variation;peaks get wider,while their intensities decrease dram.tically as the concentration of TO *** nanocom.osite m.terials show potential for m.ltifunctional applications including optoelectronics,antireflection coatings,pho-tocatalysis,light em.tting diodes,and solid polym.r electrolytes.

Geriatrics intensive care unit: Outcom. and risk factors for in hospital m.rtality

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate outcom. and risk factors, particularly the (APATCHE II) score in elderly patients after adm.ssion to a geriatrics intensive care unit (ICU). m.thods: A cross sectional study of patients ≥ 60 years adm.tted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Geriatrics departm.nt at Ain Sham. University Hospital over 2 years period. We recorded age, sex, previous m.dical history, prim.ry diagnosis, date of adm.ssion and discharge or death and APACHE II score on adm.ssion. Results: 202 patients adm.tted to the ICU were studied. The m.an ICU m.rtality rates for these patients were (32, 5%), the m.an APATCHE II score was (19.07). 27.3% of patients who died had hypokalem.a and 43.2% had hyponatrem.a. Conclusion: ICU m.rtality rate are higher in elderly patients particularly with long ICU stay and hyponatrem.a.

Pathogenic Bacteria Associated with Different Public Environm.ntal Sites in m.cca City

Background: The hygiene of environm.ntal surfaces from.shopping, ATm.m.chines, telephones and com.uters and m.scellaneous sites play role in spreading fecal and total coliform.bacteria as well as pathogenic bacteria. Objectives: This study addresses the contam.nated com.on sites by pathogenic or potentially pathogenic bacteria in m.cca, SA. m.terials and m.thods: A total 648 swab sam.les were collected and analyzed for presence or absence of pathogenic bacteria. Results: Of the total sam.les 422 were negative bacterial count (71%) and 226 (29%) were positive. All collected sam.les (100%) of glass windows in the fish m.rkets were bacterial counted;m.st dom.nated was Bacillus spp. (n = 97) and the highest population of species was Enterococcus faecalis (n = 40) and E. coli (n = 16). Conclusion: Som. public sites were very contam.nated with different types of fecal coliform.group of bacteria such as shopping cart handles, inner surfaces and child seats in superm.rkets, and the glass windows in the fish m.rket. Acinetobacter haem.lyticus and other hem.lytic bacteria were isolated from.m.re than site.

Developing a biom.terial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium.oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),alum.num.oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were em.edded in cast film. based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be exam.ned for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated film. including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Ram.n,and scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.,besides their biological *** therm.gravim.tric analysis(TGA)exhibits high therm.l stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the tem.erature from.room.tem.erature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approxim.tely 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachm.nt shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on m.st of the surface of the m.dified PCL which shows high biocom.atibility.

m.gnesium.levels am.ng critically ill elderly patients;m.rtality and m.rbidity correlation

Objectives: To evaluate the association between m.gnesium.levels, m.rbidity and m.rtality in critically ill elderly patients adm.tted in ICU. m.thods: A cross-sectional study was done on patients adm.tted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Geriatrics departm.nt at a University Hospital over 1.5 years period. Data collected included patients dem.graphics and m.dical history, length of stay in the ICU. Lab tests included serum.m.gnesium.on adm.ssion, serum.sodium.and potassium. In addition, the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II score and the Sequential Organ Failure Assessm.nt (SOFA) score were determ.ned at the day of adm.ssion. Results: A single center, cross sectional study was done on 100 patients who were adm.tted to the Geriatrics m.dical ICU at Ain Sham. university Hospital in Cairo. At adm.ssion 23% of patients had low m.gnesium.(m.) level and 59% had norm.l m.gnesium.level and 18% had high m. level. The m.an age of patients with hypom.gnesaem.a was 71.69 years old while those with norm.l m.gnesium.level were 69.5 years old and that with hyperm.gnesaem.a were 69.7 years old. The length of ICU stay was longer am.ng patients with high m. level (11.7 ± 14.4 days) and am.ng those with norm.l m.gnesium.level (7.6 ± 5.8 days) versus (7.5 ± 3.8 days) those with low m. level, am.ng the studied groups (55.6%) of patients with Hyperm.gnesaem.a died versus (44.1%) of patients with norm.l m. level. Am.ng the studied groups, those with high m. level were found to have higher APACHE II score (20.7 ± 7.4) and SOFA score (5.5 ± 3.6) than the other subjects. Significant positive correlation was found between m.an m. level and SOFA score. Conclusion: Developm.nt of hyperm.gnesaem.a during an ICU stay is associated with bad prognosis. m.nitoring of serum.m.gnesium.levels m.y have prognostic, and perhaps therapeutic, im.lications.

Turbulent fluxes at the air-sea interface were estim.ted with data collected in 2011-2020 with a low-profile platform.nam.d OCARINA during eight experim.nts in five regions:2011,2015,and 2016 in the Iroise Sea;2012 in the tropical Atlantic;2014 in the Chilie-Peru upwelling;2017 and 2018 in the m.diterranean Sea,and 2018 and 2020 in *** observations were carried out with m.derate winds(2-10 m.s^(-1))and average wave heights of 1.5 *** this study,the authors used the fluxes calculated by the bulk m.thod using OCARINA-sam.led data as the *** data can validate the fluxes estim.ted from.ERAS reanalysis *** OCARINA and ERA5 data were taken *** do this,the authors established an algorithm.to extract the OCARINA data as closely as possible to the reanalysis data in tim. and *** m.asurem.nts of the OCARINA platform.can conclude on the relevance of the widely used reanalysis data.
