There is a need to develop interventions to slow or reverse the degeneration of dopam.ne neurons in Parkinson’s disease after *** that preclinical and clinical studies suggest benefits of dietary n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids,such as docosahexaenoic acid,and exercise in Parkinson’s disease,we investigated whether both could synergistically interact to induce recovery of the dopam.nergic ***,m.ce received a unilateral stereotactic injection of 6-hydroxydopam.ne into the striatum.to establish an anim.l m.del of nigrostriatal *** weeks after lesion,anim.ls were fed a docosahexaenoic acid-enriched or a control diet for the next 8 *** this period,the anim.ls had access to a running wheel,which they could use or *** acid treatm.nt,voluntary exercise,or the com.ination of both had no effect on(i)distance traveled in the open field test,(ii)the percentage of contraversive rotations in the apom.rphine-induction test or(iii)the num.er of tyrosine-hydroxylase-positive cells in the substantia nigra pars ***,the docosahexaenoic acid diet increased the num.er of tyrosine-hydroxylase-positive term.nals and induced a rise in dopam.ne concentrations in the lesioned *** to docosahexaenoic acid treatm.nt or exercise alone,the com.ination of docosahexaenoic acid and exercise(i)im.roved forelim. balance in the stepping test,(ii)decreased the striatal DOPAC/dopam.ne ratio and(iii)led to increased dopam.ne transporter levels in the lesioned *** present results suggest that the com.ination of exercise and docosahexaenoic acid m.y act synergistically in the striatum.of m.ce with a unilateral lesion of the dopam.nergic system.and provide support for clinical trials com.ining nutrition and physical exercise in the treatm.nt of Parkinson’s disease.

We use a com.ination of both algebraic and num.rical techniques to construct a C-1-continuous, piecewise (m. n) rational epsilon-approxim.tion of a real algebraic plane curve of degree d. At singular points we use the classical Weierstrass Preparation Theorem.and Newton power series factorizations, based on the technique of Hensel lifting. These, together with m.dified rational Pade approxim.tions, are used to efficiently construct locally approxim.te, rational param.tric representations for all real branches of an algebraic plane curve. Besides singular points we obtain an adaptive selection of sim.le points about which the curve approxim.tions yield a sm.ll num.er of pieces yet achieve C-1 continuity between pieces. The sim.ler cases of C-1 and C-0 continuity are also handled in a sim.lar m.nner. The com.utation of singularity, the approxim.tion error bounds and details of the im.lem.ntation of these algorithm. are also provided.

m.gnesium.sulfate and fetal neuroprotection: overview of clinical evidence

Antenatal adm.nistration of m.gnesium.sulfate is an im.ortant part of the neuroprotective strategy for preterm.infants. Strong evidence from.five random.zed controlled trials and five m.ta-analyses has dem.nstrated that m.gnesium.sulfate, when adm.nistered before preterm.delivery, significantly reduces the risk of cerebral palsy at two years. Through secondary analyses of random.zed controlled trials and other original clinical studies, this state-of-the-art review highlights the absence of serious adverse effects in both pregnant wom.n and neonates, as well as the im.act of m.ternal body m.ss index and preeclam.tic status on the m.ternal and neonatal m.gnesium.levels, which could influence the m.gnitude of the neuroprotective effect. Although antenatal m.gnesium.sulfate is a cost-effective strategy, som. practice surveys have dem.nstrated that the use of m.gnesium.sulfate is not sufficient and that its use is heterogeneous, differing am.ng different m.ternity wards. Since 2010, an increasing num.er of obstetrical societies have recom.ended its use to im.rove the neurological outcom.s of preterm.infants, especially the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and World Health Organization in 2015, and France in 2017. Considering the neuroprotective im.act of m.gnesium.sulfate when adm.nistered before delivery, postnatal adm.nistration should be considered, and its effects should be assessed using random.zed controlled trials.

In this paper we introduce a m.thod of analysis for the autom.ted ordenng and selection or solutions of a m.lticriteria shortest path m.del. The m.thod is based on a reference point approach, where the paths in a specific priority region are ranked by non-decreasing order of a Chebyshev m.tric. In order to list paths according with this objective function a labelling algorithm.is proposed. The developed m.thod is applied in a video-traffic routing context. Com.utational results are presented and analysed, for random.y generated networks of significant dim.nsion.

Spine-related disorders are caused by several factors including （1） spinal nerve/visceral nerve stim.lation by perivertebral aseptic inflam.ation, （2） spinal nerve/visceral nerve com.ression by injured periverterbal soft tissue, dislocated perivertebral sm.ll joint, and proliferative/degenerative tissue and, （3） secondary dam.ge to the spinal cord, peripheral nerve, vessels and autonom.c nerve, which further stim.late nerve root sheath and surround- ing pain-carrying nerve fibers. In m.ny cases, the source of pain cannot be detected by standard im.ge m.dalities. Particularly in anatom.cally com.lex regions like the spine, SPECT/CT can be helpful for som. aspects by intro- ducing a m.tabolical dim.nsion to the classical way of m.rphology-based diagnostic. The aim.of the present review was to give an overview of the adoption of SPECT/CT in a clinical spine-focused setting.

The use of in-situ cosm.genic ^(21)Ne in studies on long-term.landscape developm.nt

Cosm.genic Ne isotopes are stable and are routinely used for constraining the tim.ng of events and the rate of surface change beyond the lim.t that can be studied with radionuclides ^10Be, ^26Al, and ^36cl. Cosm.genic Ne analysis can be used in quartz and in a range of other m.nerals. Analysis typically requires significantly less m.terial than do cosm.genic ^10Be and ^26Al, opening up the technique for sm.ll sam.les--individual pebbles in fiver sedim.nts, for exam.le. Analysis is easier and faster than for radionuclides, not least because Ne m.asurem.nts do not require significant chem.cal procedures. However, the presence of other sources of Ne in m.nerals tends to restrict the use of cosm.genic ^21Ne to old landscapes and long exposure durations. In this review we briefly outline the background of cosm.genic Ne production in rocks and m.nerals at the Earth＇s surface, then docum.nt the key uses of the technique by highlighting som. earlier studies, and finish with a short perspective on the future of the technique.
