Intoduction: The adenocarcinom.s of the appendix are rare tum.rs of the gastrointestinal truct that often reveal no clear clinical sym.tom. and are not diagnosed in tim.. In this study, we analyze a rare case of an incidentally discovered adenocarcinom. of the appendix after appendicectom.. Case presentation: A Greek m.le patient of 37 years old patient presented to our hospital with signs of acute appendicitis and peritonitis. He underwent appendicectom. as therapeutic treatm.nt. Post operational histological exam.nation revealed in situ carcinom. of the appendix without high hem.tological tum.r m.rkers or visible m.tastasis in CT scan analysis. We decided to proceed to right hem.colectom.. The patient was discharged without com.lications and without displaying other sym.tom. in a m.nitoring interval of two m.nths after surgery. Conclusion: Adenocarcinom.s of the appendix are generally difficult to detect in the early stage leading to significant m.rbidity and m.rtality rates. Therefore, it is necessary to execute a very careful histopathological exam.nation and perform.a detailed intraperitoneal cleaning during operation, so that any indications of appendix adenocarcinom.s in cases of appendectom. won’t be m.ssed or m.sjudged.
