This paper considers stability analysis of a Susceptible-Exposed-Infected-Recovered-Virus(SEIRV)m.del with nonlinear incidence rates and indicates the severity and weakness of control factors for disease transm.ssion.The Lyapunov function using Volterra-Lyapunov m.trices m.kes it possible to study the global stability of the endem.c equilibrium.point.An optim.l control strategy is proposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus,in addition to governm.ntal intervention.The objective is to m.nim.ze together with the quantity of infected and exposed individuals while m.nim.zing the total costs of treatm.nt.A num.rical study of the m.del is also carried out to investigate the analytical results.

The prim.ry varicella-zoster virus(VzV)infection that causes chickenpox(also known as varicella),spreads quickly am.ng people and,in severe circum.tances,can cause to fever and encephalitis.In this paper,the m.ttag-Leffler fractional operator is used to exam.ne the m.them.tical representation of the vzV.Five fractional-order differential equations are created in term. of the disease's dynam.cal analysis such as S:Susceptible,V:Vaccinated,E:Exposed,I:Infectious and R:Recovered.We derive the existence criterion,positive solution,Hyers-Ulam.stability,and boundedness of results in order to exam.ne the suggested fractional-order m.del's wellposedness.Finally,som. num.rical exam.les for the VzV m.del of various fractional orders are shown with the aid of the generalized Adam.-Bashforth-m.ulton approach to show the viability of the obtained results.

Progressive osseous heteroplasia(POH)is an ultra-rare autosom.l dom.nant disabling disorder characterized by heterotopic ossification(HO).It is caused by heterozygous inactivating m.tations in the GNAS(guanine nucleotide-binding protein alpha-stim.lating activity polypeptide)gene.However,the m.lecular m.chanism. underlying HO rem.in poorly understood.As a treatm.nt for POH is not yet available,the identification of the m.chanism. driving POH in affected tissues using gene expression m.y be of great help to underestand the m.lecular basis of POH and develop new therapeutic approaches.

Spinal cord injury(SCI)is a devastating and disabling m.dical condition generally caused by a traum.tic event(prim.ry injury).This initial traum. is accom.anied by a set of biological m.chanism. directed to am.liorate neural dam.ge but also exacerbate initial dam.ge(secondary injury).The alterations that occur in the spinal cord have not only local but also system.c consequences and virtually all organs and tissues of the body incur im.ortant changes after SCI,explaining the progression and detrim.ntal consequences related to this condition.Psychoneuroim.unoendocrinology(PNIE)is a growing area of research aim.ng to integrate and explore the interactions am.ng the different system. that com.ose the hum.n organism.considering the m.nd and the body as a whole.The initial traum.tic event and the consequent neurological disruption trigger im.une,endocrine,and m.ltisystem.dysfunction,which in turn affect the patient's psyche and well-being.In the present review,we will explore the m.st im.ortant local and system.c consequences of SCI from.a PNIE perspective,defining the changes occurring in each system.and how all these m.chanism. are interconnected.Finally,potential clinical approaches derived from.this knowledge will also be collectively presented with the aim.to develop integrative therapies to m.xim.ze the clinical m.nagem.nt of these patients.

Background and aim.The liver is susceptible to ischem.a-reperfusion injury(IRI)during hepatic surgery,when the vessels are com.ressed to control bleeding,or liver transplantation,when there is an obligate period of ischem.a.The hallm.rk of IRI com.rises m.tochondrial dysfunction,which generates reactive oxygen species,and cell death through necrosis or apoptosis.Cyclosporine(CsA),which is a well-known im.unosuppressive agent that inhibits calcineurin,has the additional effect of inhibiting the m.to-chondrial perm.ability transition pore(m.TP),thereby,preventing m.tochondrial swelling and injury.NIm.811,which is the nonim.unosuppressive analog of CsA,has a sim.lar effect on the m.TP.In this study,we tested the effect of both agents on m.tigating warm.hepatic IRI in a m.rine m.del.m.terials and m.thods:Before ischem.c insult,the m.ce were adm.nistered with intraperitoneal norm.l saline(control);CsA at 2.5,10,or 25 m./kg;or NIm.811 at 10 m./kg.Thereafter,the m.ce were subjected to partial warm.hepatic ischem.a by selective pedicle clam.ing for 60 m.n,followed by 6 h of recovery after reperfusion.Serum.alanine transam.nase(ALT)was m.asured,and the liver tissue was exam.ned histologically for the presence of apoptosis and the levels of inflam.atory cytokines.Results:Com.ared with the control m.ce,the m.ce treated with 10 and 25 m./kg of CsA and NIm.811 had significantly lower ALT levels(Pm.reover,the liver tissue showed reduced histological injury scores after treatm.nt with CsA at 2.5,10,and 25 m./kg and NIm.811(P=0.041,m.nt with CsA at all doses(P=0.012,0.007,andm.atory cyto-kines,particularly interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-2,IL-4,IL-10,and keratinocyte chem.attractant/hum.n growth-regulated oncogene significantly decreased in the m.ce treated with the highest dose of CsA(25 m./kg)than those in the control m.ce.Conclusions:Prem.dication with CsA or NIm.811 m.tig

Beyond their function as structural barriers,plant cell walls are essential elem.nts for the adaptation of plants to environm.ntal conditions.Cell walls are dynam.c structures whose com.osition and integrity can be altered in response to environm.ntal challenges and developm.ntal cues.These wall changes are perceived by plant sensors/receptors to trigger adaptative responses during developm.nt and upon stress perception.Plant cell wall dam.ge caused by pathogen infection,wounding,or other stresses leads to the release of wall m.lecules,such as carbohydrates(glycans),that function as dam.ge-associated m.lecular patterns(DAm.s).DAm.s are perceived by the extracellular ectodom.ins(ECDs)of pattern recognition receptors(PRRs)to activate pattern-triggered im.unity(PTI)and disease resistance.Sim.larly,glycans released from.the walls and extracellular layers of m.croorganism. interacting with plants are recognized as m.crobe-associated m.lecular patterns(m.m.s)by specific ECD-PRRs triggering PTI responses.The num.er of oligosaccharides DAm.s/m.m.s identified that are perceived by plants has increased in recent years.However,the structural m.chanism. underlying glycan recognition by plant PRRs rem.in lim.ted.Currently,this knowledge is m.inly focused on receptors of the Lysm.PRR fam.ly,which are involved in the perception of various m.lecules,such as chitooligosaccharides from.fungi and lipo-chitooligosaccharides(i.e.,Nod/m.C factors from.bacteria and m.corrhiza,respectively)that trigger differential physiological responses.Nevertheless,additional fam.lies of plant PRRs have recently been im.licated in oligosaccharide/polysaccharide recognition.These include receptor kinases(RKs)with leucine-rich repeat and m.lectin dom.ins in their ECDs(LRR-m.L RKs),Catharanthus roseus RECEPTOR-LIKE KINASE 1-LIKE group(CrRLK1L)with m.lectin-like dom.ins in their ECDs,as well as wall-associated kinases,lectin-RKs,and LRR-extensins.The characterization of structural basis of glycans recognition by these new plant receptors will shed light

Nitric oxide(NO)is an essential reactive oxygen species and a signal m.lecule in plants.Although several studies have proposed the occurrence of oxidative NO production,only reductive routes for NO production,such as the nitrate(NO_(3)^(-))-upper-reductase pathway,have been evidenced to date in land plants.However,plants grown axenically with am.onium.as the sole source of nitrogen exhibit contents of nitrite and NO3−,evidencing the existence of a m.tabolic pathway for oxidative production of NO.We hypothesized that oxim.s,such as indole-3-acetaldoxim.(IAOx),a precursor to indole-3-acetic acid,are interm.diate oxidation products in NO synthesis.We detected the production of NO from.IAOx and other oxim.s catalyzed by peroxidase(POD)enzym. using both 4-am.no-5-m.thylam.no-2′,7′-difluorescein fluorescence and chem.lum.nescence.Flavins stim.lated the reaction,while superoxide dism.tase inhibited it.Interestingly,m.use NO synthase can also use IAOx to produce NO at a lower rate than POD.We provided a full m.chanism.for POD-dependent NO production from.IAOx consistent with the experim.ntal data and supported by density functional theory calculations.We showed that the addition of IAOx to extracts from.m.dicago truncatula increased the in vitro production of NO,while in vivo supplem.ntation of IAOx and other oxim.s increased the num.er of lateral roots,as shown for NO donors,and a m.re than 10-fold increase in IAOx dehydratase expression.Furtherm.re,we found that in vivo supplem.ntation of IAOx increased NO production in Arabidopsis thaliana wild-type plants,while prx33-34 m.tant plants,defective in POD33-34,had reduced production.Our data show that the release of NO by IAOx,as well as its auxinic effect,explain the superroot phenotype.Collectively,our study reveals that plants produce NO utilizing diverse m.lecules such as oxim.s,POD,and flavins,which are widely distributed in the plant kingdom.thus introducing a long-awaited oxidative pathway to NO production in plants.This knowledge has essential im.lications for und

Physical rehabilitation is an effective therapy to norm.lize weaknesses encountered with neurological disorders such as traum.tic brain injury(TBI).However,the efficacy of exercise is lim.ted during the acute period of TBI because of m.tabolic dysfunction,and this m.y further com.rom.se neuronal function.Here we discuss the possibility to norm.lize brain m.tabolism.during the early post-injury convalescence period to support functional plasticity and prevent long-term.functional deficits.Although BDNF possesses the unique ability to support m.lecular events involved with the transm.ssion of inform.tion across nerve cells through activation of its TrkB receptor,the poor pharm.cokinetic profile of BDNF has lim.ted its therapeutic applicability.The flavonoid derivative,7,8-dihydroxyflavone(7,8-DHF),signals through the sam. TrkB receptors and results in the activation of BDNF signaling pathways.We discuss how the pharm.cokinetic lim.tations of BDNF m.y be avoided by the use of 7,8-DHF,which m.kes it a prom.sing pharm.cological agent for supporting activity-based rehabilitation during the acute post-injury period after TBI.In turn,docosahexaenoic acid(C22:6n-3;DHA)is abundant in the phospholipid com.osition of plasm. m.m.ranes in the brain and its action is im.ortant for brain developm.nt and plasticity.DHA is a m.jor m.dulator of synaptic m.m.rane fluidity and function,which is fundam.ntal for supporting cell signaling and synaptic plasticity.Exercise influences DHA function by norm.lizing DHA content in the brain,such that the collaborative action of exercise and DHA can be instrum.ntal to boost BDNF function with strong therapeutic potential for reducing the deleterious effects of TBI on synaptic plasticity and cognition.

Graphene is the stiffest m.terial known so far but, due to its one-atom.thickness, it is also very bendable.Consequently, free-standing graphene exhibit ripples that has m.jor effects on its elastic properties. Here we will sum.arize three experim.nts where the influence of rippling is essential to address the results. Firstly, we observed that atom.c vacancies lessen the negative therm.l expansion coefficient(TEC) of free-standing graphene.We also observed an increase of the Young's m.dulus with global applied strain and with the introduction of sm.ll density defects that we attributed to the decrease of rippling. Here, we will focus on a surprising feature observed in the data: the experim.nts consistently indicate that only the rippling with wavelengths between 5 and 10 nm.influences the m.chanics of graphene. The rippling responsible of the negative TEC and anom.lous elasticity is thought to be dynam.c, i.e. flexural phonons. However, flexural phonons with these wavelengths should have m.nor effects on the m.chanics of graphene, therefore other m.chanism. m.st be considered to address our observations. We propose static ripples as one of the key elem.nts to correctly understand the therm.m.chanics of graphene and suggest that rippling arises naturally due to a com.etition of sym.etry breaking and anharm.nic fluctuations.
