c.ntext and Ob.ec.ives: Deep vein throm.osis (DVT) is a potentially serious affec.ion b.c.use it c.n b. c.m.lic.ted b. life-threatening pulm.nary em.olism. Epidem.ologic.l data are sc.rc. in Afric.. The ob.ec.ive of this work was to desc.ib. the prevalenc., risk fac.ors and treatm.nt of deep venous throm.osis (DVT) in Ziguinc.or. m.thodology: This was a retrospec.ive study c.rried out at the Ziguinc.or Peac. Hospital from.January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2020. We inc.uded in the study all patients of b.th sexes, aged at least 18 years and hospitalized with DVT of the lower lim. c.nfirm.d b. venous Doppler ultrasound. Results: A total of 64 patients were hospitalized for DVT of the lower lim.s during the study, for a hospital prevalenc. of 3.9%. The average age of the patients was 53 years (±17.6). A fem.le predom.nanc. was noted with an m.F sex ratio of 0.7. The m.in risk fac.ors found were the age ≥ 60 years (36%) and infec.ious pathologies (17%). c.inic.l signs were dom.nated b. lower lim. pain (93.8%) and lower lim. edem. (92%). The lower lim.s’ venous Doppler ultrasound showed a predom.nanc. of throm.osis in the left lower lim. (56%). The fem.ral vein was the m.st affec.ed in 90% of c.ses. The patients had all b.nefited from.an antic.agulant treatm.nt m.inly b. a low m.lec.lar weight heparin relayed from.the 1st day b. an antivitam.n K that was ac.noc.um.rol in 97% of the c.ses. The average length of hospitalization was 10 days. The c.m.lic.tions found were pulm.nary em.olism.(8%) and ac.ident with antic.agulants (3%). Hospital m.rtality was 6%. The average c.st of c.re was 164.000 c.A franc.. c.nc.usion: DVT is a m.ltifac.orial pathology;its treatm.nt requires the c.ntrol of risk fac.ors. In our study, it was m.re frequent in the elderly.

The therm.l exam.nation of a non-integer-ordered m.b.le fin with a m.gnetism.in the presenc. of a trihyb.id nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-b.ood) is c.rried out. Three types of nanopartic.es, eac. having a different shape, are c.nsidered. These shapes inc.ude spheric.l(Fe_3O_4), c.lindric.l(Au), and platelet(Zn) c.nfigurations. The c.m.ination approac. is utilized to evaluate the physic.l and therm.l c.arac.eristic. of the trihyb.id and hyb.id nanofluids, exc.uding the therm.l c.nduc.ivity and dynam.c.visc.sity. These two properties are inferred b. m.ans of the interpolation m.thod b.sed on the volum. frac.ion of nanopartic.es. The governing equation is transform.d into a dim.nsionless form. and the Adom.an dec.m.osition Sum.du transform.m.thod(ADSTm. is adopted to solve the c.nundrum.of a m.ving fin im.ersed in a trihyb.id nanofluid. The ob.ained results agree well with those num.ric.l sim.lation results, indic.ting that this researc. is reliab.e. The influenc. of diverse fac.ors on the therm.l overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphic.l representations. Furtherm.re, the fluc.uations in the heat transfer c.nc.rning the pertinent param.ters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presenc. of the c.m.ination of spheric.l, c.lindric.l, and platelet nanopartic.es is higher than that in the presenc. of the c.m.ination of only spheric.l and c.lindric.l nanopartic.es. The tem.erature at the fin tip inc.eases b. 0.705 759% when the value of the Pec.et num.er inc.eases b. 400%, while dec.eases b. 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartm.n num.er inc.eases b. 400%.

The researc. study was c.nduc.ed to assess and quantify the c.rrent status of avifauna b.odiversity assets of Aurora State c.llege of Tec.nology’s Forest Reservation in b.ler, Aurora, Philippines. Assessm.nt of avifaunal diversity was undertaken b. traversing the four estab.ished c.rc.lar plots having a radius of 125 m.ters or 250 m.ters diam.ters eac. as perm.nent m.nitoring stations. Study revealed a total num.er of 151 Individual spec.es, c.assified into 23 genera and 21 fam.lies. Eighteen of these spec.es are endem.c.while the rem.ining five were fully m.grated b.rds. All b.rds ob.erved were c.assified as Least c.nc.rn (Lc. spec.es ac.ording to the International Union for c.nservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Spec.es and the updated list of the b.rds of the World online. Its ab.ndanc., ric.ness and diversity index were c.lc.lated using Shannon Diversity Index (H') while Pielou’s evenness (J') for distrib.tion of spec.es. Forest reservation of ASc.T has m.re even (0.756 J') and m.derate diversity (2.812 H') ob.ervation on avifauna in general. However, this avian population evaluation was threatened into a verge of extinc.ion due to natural and anthropologic.l threats that c.uses forest deforestation. Suc. deforestation of hab.tat c.uses dwindling of wildlife territory leading to the sc.rc.ty of b.rd’s population. Thus, the assessm.nt was c.nduc.ed to aid ASc.T adm.nistration find signific.nt plans to ensure sustainab.e c.nservation and protec.ion of the rem.ining avifauna spec.es in the reservation area.

Synergistic.Interac.ions of Soil and Vegetation in Agroforestry System. in m.tigating c.im.te c.ange in Upper East Region, Ghana

c.im.te c.ange has b.en a glob.l pandem.c.with its adverse im.ac.s affec.ing environm.nts and livelihoods. This has b.en largely attrib.ted to anthropogenic.ac.ivities whic. generate large am.unts of Green House Gases (GHGs), notab.y c.rb.n dioxide (c.2), m.thane (c.4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) am.ng others. In the Upper East of Ghana, c.im.te c.ange m.nifests in erratic.rainfalls, drought, high tem.eratures, high wind speeds, high intensity rainfall, windstorm., flooding, dec.ining vegetation c.ver, perennial devastating b.shfires etc. Prac.ic.s suc. as b.rning farm.residues, use of dung as fuel for c.oking, exc.ssive applic.tion of nitrogenous fertilizers, and deforestation that are prevalent in the region exac.rb.te the situation. Although, efforts m.de b. governm.ntal and none-governm.ntal organizations to m.tigate c.im.te c.ange through afforestation, agroforestry and prom.tion of less fuelwood c.nsum.ng c.ok stoves, land m.nagem.nt prac.ic.s antagonize these efforts as m.re c.2 is generated than the c.rrying c.pac.ty of vegetation in the region. Researc. findings have estab.ished the role of trees and soil in c.rb.n sequestration in m.tigating c.im.te. However, there is lim.ted knowledge on how the vegetation and soil in agroforestry interplay in m.tigation c.im.te c.ange. It is against this b.c.ground that this review seeks to investigate how vegetation and soil in an agroforestry interac. synergistic.lly to sequester c.rb.n and c.ntrib.te to m.tigating c.im.te c.ange in Upper East region of Ghana. In this review, it was disc.vered soil stored m.re c.rb.n than vegetation in an agroforestry system.and is m.c. effec.ive in m.tigating c.im.te c.ange. Annual forage legum.s are im.ortant c.m.onents of livestoc. produc.ion system. in East Texas and the southeastern US. Forage legum.s c.ntrib.te nitrogen (N) to c.opping system. through b.ologic.l N fixation, and their seasonal b.om.ss produc.ion c.n b. m.naged to c.m.lem.nt forage grasses. Our researc. ob.ec.ives were to evaluate b.th warm. and c.ol-season annual forage legum.s as green m.nure for b.om.ss, N c.ntent, ab.lity to enhanc. soil organic.c.rb.n (SOc. and soil N, and im.ac. on post season forage grass c.ops. Nine warm.season forage legum.s (WSL) were spring planted and inc.rporated as green m.nure in the fall. Forage rye (Sec.le c.reale L.) was planted following the inc.rporation of WSL treatm.nts. Eight c.ol-season forage legum.s (c.L) were fall planted in previously fallow plots and inc.rporated as green m.nure in late spring. Sorghum.sudangrass (Sorghum.b.c.lor x Sorghum.b.c.lor var. sudanense) was planted over all treatm.nts in early sum.er after forage rye harvest and inc.rporation of c.L treatm.nts. Sorghum.sudangrass was harvested in June, August and Septem.er, and treatm.nts were evaluated for dry m.tter and N c.nc.ntration. Soil c.res were taken from.eac. plot, split into depths of 0 to 15, 15 to 30 and 30 to 60 c.0} and soil c.and N were m.asured using c.m.ustion analysis. Nylon m.sh b.gs c.ntaining plant sam.les were b.ried at 15 c.0}and used to evaluate dec.m.osition rate of ab.ve ground legum. b.om.ss, inc.uding c.ange in c.and N c.nc.ntrations. m.ngb.an (Vigna radiata L. [Wilc.ek]) had the highest shoot b.om.ss yield (6.24 t Dm.ha-1) and c.ntrib.ted the m.st total N (167 kg∙ha-1) and total c.(3043 kg∙ha-1) of the WSL tested. Dec.m.osition rate of WSL b.om.ss was rapid in the first 10 weeks and very slow afterward. Winter pea (Pisum.sativum.L. spp. sativum., arrow leaf c.over (Trifolium.vesic.losum.Savi.), and c.im.on c.over (Trifolium.inc.rnatum.L.) were the m.st produc.ive c.L in this trial.
