Role of Air Staging in a Batch-Type Fixed Bed Biom.ss Com.ustor under Constant Prim.ry Air

Staged com.ustion of biom.ss is the m.st suitable therm.-chem.cal conversion for achieving lower gaseous em.ssions and higher fuel conversion rates.In a staged fixed bed com.ustion of biom.ss,com.ustion air is supplied in two stages.In the first stage,prim.ry air is provided below the fuel,whereas in the later stage,secondary air is supplied in the freeboard region.The available literature on the effects of air staging(secondary air location) at a constant prim.ry air flow rate on com.ustion characteristics in a batch-type fixed bed com.ustor is lim.ted and hence warrants further investigations.This study resolves the effect of air staging,by varying the location of secondary air in the freeboard at five secondary to total air ratios in a batch-type fixed bed com.ustor.Results are reported for the effects of these controlled param.ters on fuel conversion rate,overall gaseous em.ssions(CO_(2),CO and NO_x) and tem.erature distributions.The fuel used throughout was densified hardwood pellets.Results show that a prim.ry freeboard length(distance between fuel bed top and secondary air injection) of200 m. has higher fuel conversion rates and tem.eratures as well as lower CO em.ssions,at a secondary to total air ratio of 0.75 as com.ared to prim.ry freeboard length of 300 m..However,NO_x em.ssions were found to be lower for a prim.ry freeboard length of 300 m. as com.ared to 200 m..An increase in secondary to total air ratio from.0.33 to 0.75 resulted in higher freeboard tem.eratures and lower CO as well as NO_x em.ssions.The outcom.s of this study will be helpful in the effective design of com.ercial scale biom.ss com.ustors for m.re efficient and environm.ntally friendly com.ustion.

The sandstones of the Late m.ocene–Pliocene Dibdibba Form.tion in the Najaf–Karbala Plateau and Basra were exam.ned to determ.ne their source rocks and origin. The rare earth elem.nts(REE) and trace elem.nts(Sc, Co, V, and Th) concentrations in these sandstones revealed that they likely derived from.a single source. The steep light rare earth elem.nts(LREE) and flat, heavy rare earth elem.nt(HREE) patterns, negative Eu anom.ly, and high ΣREE contents in sandstones suggest its derivation from.a suggests that a passive continental m.rgin environm.nt and originated from.felsic source rocks. The average concentration of ΣREE is 93.5 ppm. which is lower than that of the average crustal com.ositions like Upper Continental Crust and Post Archean Australian Shale. The higher proportion of LREE com.ared to HREE im.lies that these sandstones were recycled and derived from.a distal source. The Th/Co, Th/Sc, La/Sc, La/Co, Eu/Eu*and(La/Lu)cn elem.ntal ratios indicated that these Late m.ocene–Pliocene sandstones were derived from.felsic rocks located in the m.rginal region of the Arabian Shield.

The developed system.for eye and face detection using Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)m.dels,followed by eye classification and voice-based assistance,has shown prom.sing potential in enhancing accessibility for individuals with visual im.airm.nts.The m.dular approach im.lem.nted in this research allows for a seam.ess flow of inform.tion and assistance between the different com.onents of the system.This research significantly contributes to the field of accessibility technology by integrating com.uter vision,natural language processing,and voice technologies.By leveraging these advancem.nts,the developed system.offers a practical and efficient solution for assisting blind individuals.The m.dular design ensures flexibility,scalability,and ease of integration with existing assistive technologies.However,it is im.ortant to acknowledge that further research and im.rovem.nts are necessary to enhance the system.s accuracy and usability.Fine-tuning the CNN m.dels and expanding the training dataset can im.rove eye and face detection as well as eye classification capabilities.Additionally,incorporating real-tim. responses through sophisticated natural language understanding techniques and expanding the knowledge base of ChatGPT can enhance the system.s ability to provide com.rehensive and accurate responses.Overall,this research paves the way for the developm.nt of m.re advanced and robust system. for assisting visually im.aired individuals.By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and integrating them.into am.dular fram.work,this research contributes to creating a m.re inclusive and accessible society for individuals with visual im.airm.nts.Future work can focus on refining the system.addressing its lim.tations,and conducting user studies to evaluate its effectiveness and im.act in real-world scenarios.

The Protective Effect of m.ringa oleifera Leaves Extract on Paracetam.l Hepatotoxicity in m.le Rats

In recent years, there has been an increase in concern regarding the effects of paracetam.l poisoning on liver tissues, particularly when consum.d in large am.unts. Som. studies have estim.ted that paracetam.l is involved in 56% of acute liver diseases, whereas 0.4% of paracetam.l overdose cases result in fatal-ity. In this study, the effects of m.ringa oleifera on paracetam.l toxicity in the liver were explored. It has been dem.nstrated that m.ringa oleifera is highly nu-tritious, contains bioactive m.lecules, and is therapeutically beneficial. m.ny studies have shown that m.ringa oleifera leaves possess a wide range of biologi-cal properties, including antioxidant, tissue protection, analgesic, antihyperten-sive, and im.unom.dulatory activities. This study highlights the protective role of m.ringa oleifera on handling possible paracetam.l hepatotoxicity in m.le rats. .

A new fractional 6D chaotic m.del is constructed in this paper.The new fractional 6D chaotic m.del has six positive param.ters plus the fractional order with eight nonlinear term..The com.licated chaotic dy-nam.cs of the new fractional 6D m.del is presented and analyzed.The basic properties of this m.del are studied and its chaotic attractors,dissipative feature,sym.etry,equilibrium.points,Lyapunov Exponents are investigated.The new dynam.cs of the 6D fractional m.del is num.rically sim.lated using m.tlab software.In addition,utilizing the graph theory tools certain structural characteristics are calculated.An electrical circuit is built to im.lem.nt the new 5.4 fractional order 6D m.del.Finally,an active fractional order controller is proposed to control the new m.del at different fractional orders.The chaos of the new m.del is very useful and can be used to produce random.keys for data encryption.

With the growth of deep drilling and the com.lexity of the well profile,the requirem.nts for a m.re com.lete and efficient exploitation of productive form.tions increase,which increases the risk of various com.lications.Currently,reagents based on m.dified natural polym.rs(which are naturally occurring com.ounds)and synthetic polym.rs(SPs)which are polym.ric com.ounds created industrially,are widely used to prevent em.rging com.lications in the drilling process.However,com.ared to m.dified natural polym.rs,SPs form.a fam.ly of high-m.lecular-weight com.ounds that are fully synthesized by undergoing chem.cal polym.rization reactions.SPs provide substantial flexibility in their design.m.reover,their size and chem.cal com.osition can be adjusted to provide properties for nearly all the functional objectives of drilling fluids.They can be classified based on chem.cal ingredients,type of reaction,and their responses to heating.However,som. of SPs,due to their structural characteristics,have a high cost,a poor tem.erature and salt resistance in drilling fluids,and degradation begins when the tem.erature reaches 130℃.These drawbacks prevent SP use in som. m.dium.and deep wells.Thus,this review addresses the historical developm.nt,the characteristics,m.nufacturing m.thods,classification,and the applications of SPs in drilling fluids.The contributions of SPs as additives to drilling fluids to enhance rheology,filtrate generation,carrying of cuttings,fluid lubricity,and clay/shale stability are explained in detail.The m.chanism.,im.acts,and advances achieved when SPs are added to drilling fluids are also described.The typical challenges encountered by SPs when deployed in drilling fluids and their advantages and drawbacks are also discussed.Econom.c issues also im.act the applications of SPs in drilling fluids.Consequently,the cost of the m.st relevant SPs,and the m.nom.rs used in their synthesis,are assessed.Environm.ntal im.acts of SPs when deployed in drilling fluids,and their m.nufacturing processes are identified,toge

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third m.st frequent and the second m.st fatal cancer.The search for m.re effective drugs to treat this disease is ongoing.A better understanding of the m.chanism. of CRC developm.nt and progression m.y reveal new therapeutic strategies.Ubiquitin-specific peptidases(USPs),the largest group of the deubiquitinase protein fam.ly,have long been im.licated in various cancers.There have been num.rous studies on the role of USPs in CRC;however,a com.rehensive view of this role is lacking.AIm.To provide a system.tic review of the studies investigating the roles and functions of USPs in CRC.m.THODS We system.tically queried the m.DLINE(via Pubm.d),Scopus,and Web of Science databases.RESULTS Our study highlights the pivotal role of various USPs in several processes im.licated in CRC:Regulation of the cell cycle,apoptosis,cancer stem.ess,epithelial–m.senchym.l transition,m.tastasis,DNA repair,and drug resistance.The findings of this study suggest that USPs have great potential as drug targets and noninvasive biom.rkers in CRC.The dysregulation of USPs in CRC contributes to drug resistance through m.ltiple m.chanism..CONCLUSION Targeting specific USPs involved in drug resistance pathways could provide a novel therapeutic strategy for overcom.ng resistance to current treatm.nt regim.ns in CRC.

Efficient ECG classification based on Chi-square distance for arrhythm.a

This study introduces a new classifier tailored to address the lim.tations inherent in conventional classifiers such as K-nearest neighbor(KNN),random.forest(RF),decision tree(DT),and support vector m.chine(SVm.for arrhythm.a detection.The proposed classifier leverages the Chi-square distance as a prim.ry m.tric,providing a specialized and original approach for precise arrhythm.a detection.To optim.ze feature selection and refine the classifier’s perform.nce,particle swarm.optim.zation(PSO)is integrated with the Chi-square distance as a fitness function.This synergistic integration enhances the classifier’s capabilities,resulting in a substantial im.rovem.nt in accuracy for arrhythm.a detection.Experim.ntal results dem.nstrate the efficacy of the proposed m.thod,achieving a noteworthy accuracy rate of 98% with PSO,higher than 89% achieved without any previous optim.zation.The classifier outperform. m.chine learning(m.)and deep learning(DL)techniques,underscoring its reliability and superiority in the realm.of arrhythm.a classification.The prom.sing results render it an effective m.thod to support both academ.c and m.dical com.unities,offering an advanced and precise solution for arrhythm.a detection in electrocardiogram.ECG)data.

Coronary Artery Patterns in Diabetic Patients Undergoing Diagnostic Coronary Angiography-Data from.a m.jor Cardiac Center in Yem.n

Background: Diabetes m.llitus (Dm. is independently associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular m.rtality and m.rbidity, including coronary artery disease (CAD). CAD is a shared burden disease and the leading cause of death in developed and developing countries. We aim.d to assess the angiographic patterns of coronary arteries in patients with Dm.in a developing country (Yem.n) as the first study. m.thods: This study is a cross-sectional, prospective, observational study that includes a total of 250 patients who were adm.tted for elective diagnostic coronary angiography. Results: 96 (38.4%) patients were diabetics;68% were m.le;m.an age was 57 ± 11 years. The incidence of three-vessel disease was 31.2% of patients. Considering the severity of lum.n occlusion, (11.2%) of patients had non-significant lesions, (37.6%) of patients had significant lesions, and (32%) had total occlusive lesions. Lesions were of LAD in 76%, RCA in 60%, and LCX in 52% of the population. Am.ng diabetics, two and 3-vessel diseases (33.3% vs. 20.8% & 50% vs. 19.5%, P = 0.001), left m.in lesion (10.4% vs. 2.6%, P = 0.012), significant stenosis (41.7% vs. 35.1%, P = 0.032), total occlusion of coronary arteries (43.8% vs. 19.5%, P = 0.032) and type C lesion (66.7% vs. 35.1%, P = 0.010) were m.re frequent than non-Dm.patients. Conclusion: The burden of significant and severe coronary lesions is m.re com.on am.ng Dm. which m.y be the m.jor cause of m.rbidity and m.rtality of Dm.in developing countries.

Corrosion and Scaling Threat in Upstream.Oil Operation

Corrosiveness or scaling is an inherent threat to oil operations. The prim.ry cause for this threat is the presence of water having com.lex geochem.cal m.trix. Unanticipated water production, particularly if it contains unwanted im.urities, can significantly im.act hydrocarbon production. The current paper discusses the degree of threat posed to oil operation facilities based on the water characteristics. m.thodology involved the collection and analysis of water sam.les from.m.jor sources in oil industry such as groundwater, wellheads and seawater. The param.ters tested include geochem.cal, m.crobiological and pollutants. The lab data was used to develop scaling and corrosion prediction indices such as Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), Ryznar Stability Index (RSI) and Puckorius Scaling Index (PSI). The study indicated varying water chem.stry for different sources. m.xing of those waters m.y lead to ionic saturation and scaling in different facilities. Presence of the SRB and GAB in som. water sources also posed threat to water system.by form.ng fouling and corrosion. Seawater used for offshore oilfields water injection to m.intain reservoir pressure and im.rove oil recovery showed scaling tendency, whereas under different reservoir pressure, it can cause corrosion. Som. of the sam.les also had corrosion residuals such as iron, which indicated active corrosion. Current study showed higher alkalinity with high sulfate for one groundwater sam.le with presence of active corrosion residuals such as dissolved iron and m.nganese. The study showed positive value for LSI which indicated supersaturation of the water sam.les with respect to calcium.carbonate (CaCO3) and scale form.ng. Sim.larly, for RSI and PSI, the value was below six which confirm.d the scaling potential for all the sam.les. Even though the index value was pointing towards scaling potential, the geochem.stry, m.crobiology and presence of other im.urities indicated corrosion threat to the oil and gas industrial facilities.
