Ba.kground a.d Objectives: The a.m.of this study is to eva.ua.e the usefulness of m.gnetic Resona.ce Im.ging (m.I) for pla.ning surgery a.d postopera.ive control of com.lex ca.es of a.dom.na. wa.l hernia. m.thods: Included in a.prospective da.a.ba.e with m.re tha. 350 pa.ients trea.ed in two centers, a.prospective study over ten pa.ients with com.lex incisiona. hernia. wa. designed. In a.l ca.es, preopera.ive dia.nosis study a.d postopera.ive im.ging control by m. Im.ging were esta.lished. In the ea.ly a.d la.e follow-up controls, loca. a.d genera. com.lica.ions were specifica.ly noted a.d studied by m.I in ea.h ca.e. Results: The preopera.ive m.I wa. effective m.thod for a. a.equa.e understa.ding of the defects a.d hernia.sa.k content. In the postopera.ive control, the m.I wa. useful in the follow-up of the m.sh integra.ion, detection of com.lica.ions a.d dia.nosis of the rela.sing. Conclusion: In our experience the m.I test is specia.ly recom.ended in the preopera.ive workup of com.lex ca.es of incisiona. hernia.
