Low-power reconfigura.le optica. circuits a.e highly dem.nded to sa.isfy a.va.iety of different a.plica.ions. Conventiona. electro-optic a.d therm.-optic refra.tive index tuning m.thods in silicon photonics a.e not suita.le for reconfigura.ion of optica. circuits due to their high sta.ic power consum.tion a.d vola.ility. We propose a.d dem.nstra.e a.nonvola.ile tuning m.thod by utilizing the reversible pha.e cha.ge property of GST integra.ed on top of the silicon wa.eguide. The pha.e cha.ge is ena.led by a.plying electrica. pulses to the lm.sized GST a.tive region in a.sa.dwich structure. Slow eva.ora.ion m.thod wa. used to grow pure a.d KCl (10 m.l%) doped Ka. single crysta.. The solubility a.d m.ta.ta.le zone width of a.ueous solutions of pure a.d KCl (10 m.l%) doped Ka. crysta. were eva.ua.ed to a.a.yze the crysta.liza.ion process. m.a.uring the induction period τ, the critica. nuclea.ion pa.a.0}ters like interfa.ia. energy (σ), energy of form.tion of the critica. nucleus (ΔG*) were determ.ned using the cla.sica. theory of nuclea.ion. The structura. properties a.d optica. consta.ts of the grown crysta.s ha.e been put to test a.d observed tha. the a.dition of KCl results in a. enha.cem.nt of properties of the crysta.. Grown crysta.s were cha.a.terized by powder X-ra. diffra.tion. FTIR spectra.confirm.d the presence of KCl in pure Ka. crysta.. UV- Visible spectroscopic studies revea.ed tha. a.dition of KCl in pure Ka. crysta. increa.ed tra.spa.ency from.75% to 80%. The a.a.ysis of the optica. a.sorption da.a.revea.ed the presence of both indirect a.d direct tra.sitions a.d both of these ba.d ga.s increa.ed with the a.dition of KCl. The tra.sm.tta.ce da.a.wa. a.a.yzed to ca.cula.e the refra.tive index, oscilla.or energy, dispersion energy, electric susceptibility, zero-frequency dielectric consta.t a.d both the rea. a.d im.gina.y pa.ts of the dielectric perm.ttivity a. a.function of photon energy. The m.m.nts of ε(E) were a.so determ.ned. The dispersion i.e. spectra. dependence of the refra.tive index wa. discussed a.cording to the single-effective oscilla.or m.del proposed by Wem.le a.d DiDom.nico.
