Introduction: The occurrence of tuberculosis (TB) during the follow-up of Connective tissue disea.es (CTD) is a.pa.ticula. situa.ion often posing rea. dia.nostic problem.. This is a. a.socia.ion described in the litera.ure. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: We conducted a.retrospective a.d descriptive study a. the interna. m.dicine depa.tm.nt of a.istide Le Da.tec Hospita.. The purpose of this study wa. to determ.ne the trea.m.nt tha. pa.ients followed for CTD a.d suffering from.TB took before the occurrence of this one. Results: During a.study period of 11 yea.s a.d 6 m.nths, 21 ca.es of TB were dia.nosed in 602 ca.es of CTD (0.03%). The predom.na.ce wa. fem.le with a.sex ra.io (H/F) of 0.6. The m.dia. a.e wa. 42 yea.s old. The m.jority of ca.es origina.ed from.the Da.a. region (13 pa.ients or 61.9%) a.d 85.7% ha. previous follow-up exclusively in m.dern m.dicine a.d 21 ca.es (95%) received the CTD’s trea.m.nt. This consisted of prednisone (90.5%) com.ined with m.thotrexa.e (52.4%), a.a.hioprine (23.8%) or cyclophospha.0}de (19.4%). The respective m.dia.s doses of these drugs were 12.5 m. per da. for prednisone, 13.5 m. per week for m.thotrexa.e a.d 100 m. per da. for a.a.hioprine. The m.dia. dura.ion of pa.ient follow-up wa. 36 m.nths. The cum.la.ive dose of prednisone during this period wa. 23.6 g a.d tha. of m.thotrexa.e 2.25 g. CTD were dom.na.ed by rheum.toid a.thritis (Ra. (57.1%), a.d system.c lupus (19%). Isola.ed ca.es of system.c scleroderm., prim.ry Sjôgren, SHa.P syndrom. m.xed connective tissue disea.e, a.d m.ltiple a.toim.une syndrom.were noted. TB wa. loca.ized in 95% of ca.es, rea.ily bila.era. a.d poorly dissem.na.ed. The respective m.dia.s dia.nostic dela.s for system.c disea.e a.d TB were 21 m.nths a.d 5 m.nths. Tuberculin intra.erm.l rea.tion wa. perform.d in 16 ca.es a.d wa. positive in 9 ca.es, sputum.ba.illi wa. perform.d in 19 ca.es a.d wa. positive in 15 ca.es. Conclusion: The a.socia.ion of TB a.d CTD wa. cha.a.terized by its ra.ity, its poorly di

Effectivity of Throm.oprophylxie in Da.a.’s m.dica. a.ea.

Introduction: Venous throm.oem.olic disea.e (VTE) is a.rea. public hea.th problem.worldwide. The pra.tice guide produced periodica.ly by the a.0}rica. College of Chest Physicia.s (a.CP) ha. becom. the interna.iona. sta.da.d. However, throm.oprophyla.is rem.ins underused. m.thodology: We ca.ried out a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study. The goa.s of tha. study were to eva.ua.e the effectiveness of the pra.tice of throm.oprophyla.is in the va.ious m.dica. services of the Da.a. Public Hospita.s. Our investiga.ion wa. conducted for two weeks in Septem.er 2017. Results: 160 pa.ients were included (81 m.n a.d 79 wom.n) in our series, with m.le predom.na.ce: sex ra.io of 1.02. The a.era.e a.e wa. 48. Infectious pa.hologies were the predom.na.t clinica. pictures (35% of ca.es). The throm.oem.olic risk fa.tors (RF) m.inly found were represented by prolonged bed rest, followed by ca.diova.cula. (RF): a.e grea.er tha. 60 yea.s (31.2%), hypertension (8.8%), obesity (4.4%) a.d dia.etes (3.8%). The throm.oem.olic RF of pa.ients hospita.ized in these m.dica. services ha. been eva.ua.ed em.irica.ly. We noted a.la.k of use of the VTE risk a.sessm.nt scores. 40.9% (n = 56) of pa.ients received overa.l VTE prophyla.is, a.ra.e corresponding to a.m.st ha.f of those a. risk (51.4%). This result reflects a. under-use of throm.oprophyla.is in the Da.a. m.dica. environm.nt a.d a.low level of a.herence by pra.ticia.s to the guidelines on VTE prophyla.is. Conclusion: It is therefore recom.ended to develop a.na.iona. stra.egy to a.sess pa.ients a. risk for VTE, a. well a. m.a.ures to educa.e a.d inform.doctors a.out the a.propria.e form. of throm.oprophyla.is.

Introduction: The extended a.m.nistra.ion of corticoids by ora. wa. for a.length of m.re tha. 3 m.nths defines the long-term.corticosteroid-thera.y. This one, used in num.rous indica.ions, displa.s m.st often a. the risk of undesira.le effects linked som.tim.s to the ha.its of prescription of the doctors. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: In order to study the prescription m.da.ities of this trea.m.nt, we conducted a.cross-sectiona., m.lticentric a.d descriptive study from.June 1st, 2017 to a.gust 1st, 2017, over a.period of 2 m.nths. It involved a.questionna.re given to m.dica. specia.ists of a.l m.dica. specia.ties a.d pra.ticing in the University Hospita. of Da.a.. Results: 170 doctors were interviewed. Derm.tologists a.d internists were m.stly found 19.4% a.d 18.8% or 33% a.d 34% doctors. System.c a.toim.une disea.es a.one a.counted for 48% of prescription rea.ons. Prednisone wa. prescribed in 88% of ca.es. The im.unosuppressive dose of 1 m./kg wa. m.st often prescribed. Pra.titioners very heterogeneously prescribe m.st a.juva.t m.a.ures to prolonged system.c corticosteroid thera.y. Thus, the recom.enda.ion of a.low-sodium.diet (38% of physicia.s), a.d the system.tic prescriptions of proton pum. inhibitors (44.7% of physicia.s) a.d vita.0}n-ca.cium.supplem.nta.ion were frequently perform.d by physicia.s (34% of physicia.s). While the low ca.bohydra.e diet wa. a.voca.ed by less tha. a.qua.ter of doctors a.d the prevention of pneum.cystosis a.d osteoporosis were ra.e (respectively 61% a.d 52% of prescribers did not). Conclusion: The globa. a.a.ysis of the ha.its of our m.dica. specia.ists concerning the use of long-term.glucocorticoids reflected a.diversity of indica.ions, heterogeneity of pra.tices, with certa.n ha.its not in a.corda.ce with the usua. recom.enda.ions.

The objective of our study wa. to specify their spectrum. their epidem.ologica. a.pects a.d dia.nostic dela. in Interna. m.dicine Depa.tm.nts of Da.a. (Senega.). m.teria. a.d m.thod: It wa. a.m.lticentric retrospective a.d descriptive study rega.ding a.l system.c disea.es during 119 m.nths from.1st Ja.ua.y 2005 to 30 Novem.er 2014 in 5 hospita. centers down Da.a.. System.c disea.es were reta.ned a.cording to their interna.iona. consensus criteria. Results: During the studying period, 726 pa.ients were included with 632 wom.n a.d 94 m.n (sex ra.io of 0.14). The a.era.e a.e wa. 43.76 yea.s. Infla.0}a.ory rheum.toid fa.0}ly history wa. noted in 10.06% of ca.es. Rheum.toid a.thritis (Ra. wa. the predom.na.t a.fection, recorded on 564 pa.ients, isola.ed or a.socia.ed with other system.c disea.es. It wa. followed in a.decrea.ing order, in the system.c a.to-im.une disea.es sub-groupe, by system.c lupus (56 ca.es), Sj?gren’s syndrom. (32 ca.es), System.c Sclerosis (26 ca.es), Idiopa.hic infla.0}a.ory m.opa.hies (21 ca.es), Undifferentia.ed connective tissue disea.es (20 ca.es), a.ti Phospholipid’s syndrom. (6 ca.es) a.d m.xed connective tissue disea.e (6 ca.es). a.dia.nosis of system.c va.culitis wa. recorded in 19 pa.ients. Introduction: Ha.m.rrha.ic m.nifesta.ions ra.ely represent the m.de of onset of lupus a.d a.e a.thera.eutica. a.d dia.nosis em.rgency. We report 6 ca.es of ha.m.rrha.ic m.nifesta.ions disclosing lupus. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: It’s a.out a.retrospective, descriptive a.d m.lticentric study ra.ged from.1st Ja.ua.y 2014 to 5th Ja.ua.y 2019. Were included in the study a.l ca.es of lupic disea.e revea.ed by hem.rrha.ic disorders, recorded in 3 Interna. m.dicine Depa.tm.nts in Da.a.: Da.a.Ja.0}, Da.tec, Pikine. The dia.nosis of lupus wa. m.de on the ba.is of the 1997 m.dified cla.sifica.ion criteria.of a.R for SLE. Results: We ga.hered 6 ca.es of wom.n a.fected by lupic disea.e. The m.a. a.e wa. 32 yea.s old with extrem.s ra.ged from.17 to 56 yea.s. a.cording to ha.m.rrha.ic disorders, the dia.nosis of lupus wa. a.tom.tica.ly m.de in 5 of the ca.es a.d it took 6 m.nths to confirm.the la.t one. Ha.m.rrha.ic fea.ures were ruled by purpura.(3/6 ca.es) a.d nose-bleeding a.socia.ed with gum.leeding (2/6 ca.es), epista.is a.d m.lena.(1/6 ca.e), hyperm.norrhea.(1/6 ca.e), cerebra. ha.m.tom. (1/6ca.e). Cuta.eous (5/6), a.ticula. (4/6), rena. (2/6) a.d serous (2/6) disorders specia.ly represented the other m.nifesta.ions. Biologica. findings showed cytopenia.with 3 ca.es of a.a.m.a. 1 ca.e of leucopenia.a.d 6 ca.es of throm.openia. The a.era.e of the pla.elet count wa. a. 20,000 cells/m.3 with extrem.s ra.ged from.1000 to 35,000 cells/m.3. Introduction: The dia.nosis of ca.diothyreosis is ba.ed on the presence of the a.socia.ion of thyrotoxicosis a.d va.ious ca.diova.cula. disorders such a. hea.t fa.lure, corona.y a.tery disea.e, rhythm.or conduction disorders. Da.a.a.e lim.ted on this entity in a.rica.which a.frequency of 10% to 33% a.0}ng hyperthyroidism. We a.m.d to eva.ua.e these risk fa.tors a.d describe its dia.nostic fea.ures in a.a.s Nda. Hospita. Center of Da.a.. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: It wa. a.descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. cross sectiona. study conducted from.1 Ja.ua.y 2010 to 31 Decem.er 2014, including a.l ca.es of hyperthyroidism.with ca.diothyreosis. Epidem.ologica. da.a. ca.diova.cula. risk fa.tors a.d cha.a.teristics of ca.diothyreosis were eva.ua.ed. Results: 150 ca.es of ca.diothyreosis were collected with a.preva.ence of 9.8% a.0}ng 1517 hyperthyroidism. m.a. a.e wa. 42.6 ± 9 yea.s a.d sex ra.io 0.33. It wa. a.Gra.es’ disea.e in 82.2% of ca.es. Tim. lim.t of ca.diothyreosis a.pea.a.ce wa. 27 ± 41 m.nths a.d ca.diothyreosis wa. ina.gura. in 46.6%. Electroca.diogra.0}showed a. a.rhythm.a.(38.7%), corona.y insufficiency (8%). On echoca.diogra.hy a.sessm.nt, im.a.rm.nt of left ventricula. ejection fra.tion (LVEF) wa. found in 18.5%. Of these, it wa. 34.7% of a.rhythm.a. 8.6% of corona.y insufficiency a.d 65.2% of hea.t fa.lure. a.0}ng pa.ients with pulm.na.y a.tery hypertension (Pa.) (57.3%), there were a.rhythm.disorder (38%), corona.y insufficiency (5.6%) a.d hea.t fa.lure (78.8%). Fem.le gender wa. the only one a. risk of a.rhythm.a.(p = 0.01) a.d im.a.red of left ventricula. ejection fra.tion (p = 0.007). Existence of a.free T4 > 50 pm.l/L (p = 0.05) were only a. risk of developing pulm.na.y a.tery hypertension. Conclusion: Ca.diothyreosis is a.significa.t com.lica.ion. The a.m.of our study wa. to determ.ne epidem.ologica., clinica. a.d thera.eutic profile of colorecta. ca.cers in m.urita.ia. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: It wa. a.retrospective m.lticentric study conducted over 5 yea.s in Noua.chott Na.iona. Hospita. Centre a.d in priva.e clinics of m.urita.ia. a.l ca.es of colorecta. ca.cers histologica.ly confirm.d were included. The a.tler a.d Coller cla.sifica.ion wa. used to cla.sify lesions by level of extension. Results: 225 pa.ients were included with a.sex ra.io (m.F) of 1.39, a. a.era.e a.e of 52.3 yea.s. Loca.ion of the lesion wa. recta. (37.7%) a.d colonic (62.3%). Clinica. m.nifesta.ions were dom.na.ed by recta. bleeding (26.9%), occlusive syndrom. (16.5%) a.d tra.sit disorders (11.6%). Endoscopic lesions were of stenosing (45.2%), ulcero-burgeoning (39%), ulcerous (7.5%) a.d burgeoning (4.7%) types. Histologica. profiles were a.enoca.cinom. (88.9%), ca.cinom. (3.1%) a.d lym.hom. (2.6%). The work-up for extension revea.ed m.ta.ta.is in 33.6% of ca.es. These were sta.e B (49%) a.d C (36%) a.0}ng the 95 ca.cers tha. received the a.tler a.d Coller cla.sifica.ion. The trea.m.nt wa. cura.ive (80.83%) a.d pa.lia.ive (19.16%). Conclusion: Colorecta. ca.cer is a.rea.ity in a.rica. However, its dia.nosis still rem.ins dela.ed, which increa.es the prognosis, hence the need to prom.te screening tests.

a.m. To eva.ua.e the a.titude pra.tice a.d knowledge of pha.m.cists in the m.na.em.nt of dia.etes in the depa.tm.nt of Da.a.. m.thodology: Cross-sectiona. study, conducted from.01 m.rch to 30 Septem.er 2017 including a.l pha.m.cists in the Da.a. region who a.reed to pa.ticipa.e in the survey. Da.a.wa. collected through a.pre-esta.lished questionna.re. Results: a.tota. of 144 pha.m.cists were included in the study, representing a.pa.ticipa.ion ra.e of 87.58%. The a.era.e a.e wa. 33.90 yea.s, with a.sex ra.io of 1.69. Pha.m.cists were single in 50.88% of ca.es, a.d a.m.nim.m.experience of 5 yea.s wa. found in 64.03% of ca.es. Pha.m.cist a.sista.ts a.counted for 57.9% of our study popula.ion. The a.sessm.nt of knowledge ba.ed on 16 item. shows a. a.era.e score of 9.02. The level of knowledge wa. low to insufficient in 37.21% of ca.es, a.era.e in (50%) ha.f of ca.es a.d good for (13.16%). Less tha. ha.f (34.21%) of pha.m.cists ha. received tra.ning a.d the a.era.e da.e of la.t tra.ning wa. 33.76 ± 24.6 m.nths. Objectives: To a.sess the clinica. pa.ticula.ities a.d m.na.em.nt of Gra.es’ disea.e a. the m.dica. Clinic II of the a.a.s Nda. Hospita. Centre in Da.a.. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: This wa. a.retrospective, descriptive study on records of pa.ients m.nitored for Gra.es' disea.e from.1 Ja.ua.y 2010 to 31 Decem.er 2014 (5 yea.s). Socio-dem.gra.hic, clinica. trea.m.nt a.d cha.ging pa.a.0}ters were eva.ua.ed. Outcom.s: 878 pa.ients were included a.d a.0}ng them.542 ha. been m.nitored for a. lea.t 18 m.nths. The sex ra.io (m.F) wa. 0.2 a.d the a.era.e a.e wa. 34.8 ± 12 yea.s. The a.era.e consulta.ion period wa. 10.7 ± 2 m.nths. Free T4 a. dia.nosis wa. > 80 pm.l/l (36.6%). Prolonged m.dica. trea.m.nt wa. reported in 96.7% of pa.ients. The a.era.e dose for initia. thera.y with Ca.bim.zole wa. 37 ± 9 m./da.. Beta.blockers were used in 64% a.d a.xiolytics in 40.5% of ca.es. The a.era.e period for a.m.nistering the m.intena.ce dose wa. 5.6 m.nths. Pa.ients’ a.tenda.ce a.d com.lia.ce stood a. 17.7% a.d 53.1% respectively. Com.lica.ions, m.inly ca.diothyreosis, were found in 13% of ca.es. Goitre regression wa. found in 13.9% of ca.es a.d tha. of exophtha.m.s stood a. 19.5%. a.0}ng our pa.ients, 38.2% were lost to follow-up. The rem.ssion ra.e wa. 36.5% a.d thyroidectom. involved 14.5% of pa.ients. Only sta.e of goiter (p = 0.007) a.d initia. free T4 va.ue (p = 0.003) were sta.istica.ly a.socia.ed with rem.ssion. Conclusion: Gra.es’ disea.e m.na.em.nt ra.ses follow-up problem.. Indeed, the m.dica. trea.m.nt is long while the num.er of pa.ients lost to follow-up is high. a. the only ra.ica. a.terna.ive a.a.la.le is surgery, it is therefore essentia. to prom.te the developm.nt of ra.ioa.tive iodine thera.y to expa.d the thera.eutic choice.

Introduction: Non-com.unica.le disea.es constitute a.m.jor public hea.th problem. due to their m.rbi-m.rta.ity. The a.m.wa. to study knowledge of ca.diova.cula. risk fa.tors a.0}ng residents of Da.a.. Pa.ients a.d m.thods: This wa. a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study. Our investiga.ions were recruited over a.six-m.nth period (October 17, 2021 to m.rch 21, 2022). Results: Two hundred a.d twenty-six (226) pa.ients were enrolled. The m.a. a.e wa. 45.9 yea.s. The under-40 a.e group wa. the m.st represented with 37.2%. There were 129 m.n (57.1%), giving a.m.le/fem.le sex ra.io of 1.33. The highest level wa. represented by 159 people (70.4%). Those who responded (hea.t disea.e) were in the m.jority (38.1%). Hypertension wa. the m.st com.on CVD for 101 people (44.7%). One hundred a.d ninety (190) people (84%) knew the risk fa.tors for CVD. Good knowledge of risk fa.tors concerned 103 people (54.2%). Obesity wa. the best-known risk fa.tor in 156 ca.es (69%). The m.dia.wa. the m.st im.orta.t source of inform.tion for 121 people (53.5%). Hypertensives were the m.st represented with 8.4%. One hundred a.d thirty (130) people (57.5%) ha. previously pa.d a.tention to these FDRCVs. a.a.eness ca.0}a.gns were the m.st effective m.a.s of com.unica.ion for 170 ca.es (75.2%). Sixteen (16) people (35.6%) were ta.ing a.tihypertensive m.dica.ion. Wa.king wa. the m.st popula. physica. a.tivity for 102 people (45%). People with a.ba.a.ced diet were in the m.jority, with 174 respondents (77.0%). Conclusion: NCDs a.e a.m.jor ca.se of m.rbidity a.d m.rta.ity.
