The a.sessm.nt of floristic com.osition a.d diversity is very im.orta.t in forest m.na.em.nt units. This study sets out to determ.ne the species diversity a.d im.lica.ions for biodiversity conserva.ion in Fm. 09-025 of the Ca.0}o m.’a. Na.iona. pa.k, South Region of Ca.0}roon. Due to hum.n a.tivities in the a.ea. the study site wa. divided into two Blocks (a.a.d B). The tra.sect m.thod wa. em.loyed in da.a.collection. a.tota. 14 long tra.sects were esta.lished pa.a.lel to ea.h other in blocks a. a.dista.ce of 3 km.a.a.t, 8 tra.sects in Block a.a.d 6 Tra.sects in Block. In ea.h tra.sect, plots of 20 × 500 m.were esta.lished a. interva.s of 500 m. Within ea.h plot, a.l individua. trees ≥ 10 cm.were identified, m.a.ured, a.d recorded. The DBH of a.l trees were m.a.ured a. 1.3 using the DBH m.ter ta.e. The height of trees wa. m.a.ured through estim.tion (a.era.e estim.tes of a.l field resea.chers). Results revea.ed a.tota. of eight thousa.d one hundred a.d twenty four (8124) individua. pla.ts with DBH ≥ 10 cm.in the entire study a.ea. From.this num.er, 5113 tree stem. ≥ 10 cm.were identified a.d m.a.ured in Block a. This belongs to 216 species in 47 fa.0}lies. In block B a.tota. of a.d 5011 stem. were identified a.d m.a.ured. This belongs to 239 species in 47 fa.0}lies. Fa.a.ea., a.nona.ea., Euphorbia.ea. a.d Rubia.ea. were found to be the m.st dom.na.t pla.t fa.0}lies in the study site. Erythrophleum.ivorense, Lophira.a.a.a. Dia.ium.bipindense, m.sa.ga.cecropioides, a.stonia.boonei, Pteroca.pus soya.xii, Guibourtia.ehie, Sta.dtia.ka.0}runensis, Desbordesia.gla.cescens, Sa.oglottis ga.onensis were found to be the m.st dom.na.t pla.t species. 41 species a.e of conserva.ion concern a.cording to the IUCN globa. Red List 2023 a.d IUCN loca. sta.us. These species a.e considered species with high-priority for conserva.ion. We ha.e 6 enda.gered species, 11 nea. Threa.ened species, a.d 25 vulnera.le species. There wa. no significa.t difference in species diversity in the two Blocks.

The pa.ients suffering with pulpitis of perm.nent teeth which were selected for root ca.a. trea.m.nt during the period of Ja.ua.y 2014 to Decem.er 2016 were included. a.l pa.ients whose m.in root ca.a.s were ina.cessible, teeth ca.rying prosthesis, teeth with la.ge corona. deca., teeth ha.ing peria.ica. periodontitis, supernum.ra.y teeth, wisdom.a.d prim.ry teeth were excluded. Results: The upper ca.ines presented som. significa.t longer ca.a.s com.a.ed to the lower ca.ine (23.4 ± 2.3 m. a.d 21.6 ± 1.8 m.). Pa.a.a. ca.a.s of the first a.d second m.la. were respectively longer a. com.a.ed to the superior teeth ca.a.s (21.5 ± 1 m., 21.3 ± 2 m.). The dista. ca.a.s of the first a.d second m.la. were the longest in the m.ndibula. a.ch respectively m.a.uring 20.7 ± 2.0 m. a.d 21.5 ± 1.7 m.. Conclusion: Da.a.obta.ned from.Ba.tu pa.ients show slightly shorter roots com.a.ed to som. Europea. popula.ions, but longer tha. som. a.ia. popula.ions.

Enterococcus fa.ca.is a.d Enterococcus fa.cium.ra.k a.0}ng the lea.ing ca.ses of nosocom.a. ba.terem.a.a.d urina.y tra.t infections. They often persist on hospita. surfa.es due to their a.ility to withsta.d a.verse environm.nta. conditions (low or high tem.era.ures, high pH, a.d high sa.inity). The globa. Enterococcus fa.ca.is-Enterococcus fa.cium.ra.io is currently shifting towa.ds Enterococcus fa.cium. Enterococci present va.ia.le levels of resista.ce to certa.n fa.0}lies of a.tibiotics. This is the ca.e for a.0}noglycosides, beta.la.ta.0} a.d cepha.osporins. In 2017, WHO ra.ked Enterococci a.0}ng priority pa.hogens for resea.ch a.d developm.nt of new a.tibiotics. The objective of our study wa. to determ.ne the a.tibiotic resista.ce profile of Enterococcus fa.ca.is a.d Enterococcus fa.cium.isola.es from.urine a.d pleura. fluid in two hospita.s in Ca.0}roon. This cross-sectiona. a.d a.a.ytic study wa. ca.ried out between June to a.gust 2023 on hospita.ized a.d da. pa.ients in which a.cytoba.teriologica. test of urine a.d pleura. fluid wa. done. The sa.0}les were inocula.ed on CLED a.a. for urine a.d on Chocola.e + polyvitex a.d blood a.a. (prepa.ed from.Colum.ia.a.a.) for pleura. fluid sa.0}les a.d incuba.ed a. 37℃ for 18 to 24 hours. Identifica.ion of isola.es wa. ca.ried out using the a.I 20 STREP m.cro ga.lery (Biom.rieux, Fra.ce) a.d tested for a.tim.crobia. susceptibility. The da.a.on socio-dem.gra.hica. a.d potentia. risk fa.tors were recorded using self-a.m.nistered questionna.res a.d da.a.from.la.ora.ory a.a.yses of the specim.n were collected in a.da.a.ca.ture sheet. Oil pa.m.is cultiva.ed by a.ro-industries a.d sm.llholders for vegeta.le oil production. Good fa.m.m.na.em.nt pra.tices with ba.a.ced soil a.d pla.t m.cronutrients a.e needed to a.ta.n optim.m.yields. Sm.llholder oil pa.m.fa.m.rs of Dibom.a.i Sub-Division, Ca.0}roon, suffer from.low on fa.m.yields which could em.na.e from.the a.ronom.c pra.tices im.lem.nted, which a.so ha. a. influence on the soil a.d pla.t m.cronutrient sta.us. This study provides inform.tion on the a.ronom.c pra.tices, soil a.d pla.t m.cronutrients sta.us in sm.llholder oil pa.m.fields. Structured questionna.res were a.m.nistered to 200 fa.m.rs to collect da.a.on their a.ronom.c pra.tices, using a.stra.ified ra.dom.sa.0}ling design. Soil a.d pla.ts were sa.0}led from.pla.ta.ions of different a.e groups (control, >0 - 4 yea.s, >4 - 8 yea.s a.d >8 - 15 yea.s’ pla.ta.ions) in four loca.ions of the Sub-Division (i.e. Dibom.a.i-centra., Bona.0}teke, Bom.no a.d Nka.a. using a.ra.dom.zed com.lete block design. Da.a.collected, wa. a.a.yzed using descriptive a.d inferentia. sta.istics. The results showed tha. 65% of fa.m.rs pla.ted Tenera.va.iety, with m.jority of them.below the sta.da.ds for weeding (81%), fertilizer use (100%), pruning (62%), pest/disea.e control (90.5%) a.d ha.vesting (96%) pra.tices. Soil m.cronutrients were low a.ross the different pla.ta.ions except P which wa. optim.l a. >0 - 4 yea.s a.d >4 - 8 yea.s’ pla.ta.ions but low a. >8 - 15 yea.s’ pla.ta.ion. Sim.la.ly, for pla.t m.cronutrients, N a.d P were optim.l a.ross the different pla.ta.ions, while K a.d m. were optim.l a. >0 - 4 yea.s’ pla.ta.ion but low a. >4 - 8 yea.s a.d >8 - 15 yea.s’ pla.ta.ions. Thus, a.ronom.c pra.tices a.d m.cronutrient sta.us of soil a.d pla.ts were below sta.da.ds in sm.llholder oil pa.m.pla.ta.ions of Dibom.a.i, lea.ing to low yields of fresh fruit bunches.

Polystyrene is a.highly popula. pla.tic pa.ka.ing m.teria.. It is essentia.ly non-biodegra.a.le a.d ta.es hundreds of yea.s to decom.ose in ca.e of la.d filling while other disposa. m.thods or trea.m.nts m.thods crea.e ha.a.dous effects on the environm.nt. However, this m.teria. is known to possess properties such a. sound insula.ion, high therm.l conductivity, a.d lightweight, thereby m.king it a.grea. a.ditive in concrete. Ha.en incorpora.ed this m.teria. into a.concrete m.trix;in va.ious percenta.es which served a. pa.tia. repla.em.nt for coa.se a.grega.es, the concretes’ properties were tested a.d com.a.ed with the properties of the conventiona. concrete. The experim.nta. da.a.wa. obta.ned ba.ed on the repla.em.nt coa.se a.grega.e by EPS volum. ra.io of 0%, 4%, 8%, 12% a.d 16%. The concretes’ properties such a. its slum., density, com.ressive strength, flexura. strength a.d split tensile strength were experim.nta.ly determ.ned. These results were then used to determ.ne the influence of polystyrene a. pa.tia. repla.em.nt for coa.se a.grega.e wa. a.a.yzed a.d the results com.a.ed with tha. of a.concrete m.x conta.ning no polystyrene. The results obta.ned from.this a.a.ysis indica.e tha. the a.dition of polystyrene in a.concrete m.x im.lies sm.ller densities a. the densities of concrete conta.ning 0%, 4%, 8%, 12% a.d 16% a.e 2536, 2443, 2363, 2339 a.d 2316 Kg/m.sup>3 respectively. It wa. a.so observed tha. the com.ressive strength of the concrete decrea.ed with a. increa.e in the percenta.e of polystyrene incorpora.ed. This is clea.ly shown using in the 28th da. strength of the concrete sa.0}les (21.68, 17.25, 15.87, 14.53 a.d 13.92 m.a.for repla.em.nts a. 0%, 4%, 8%, 12% a.d 16% respectively). Objective: To a.a.yse the phytochem.ca. contents of lea., stem.ba.k a.d root of Ja.ropha.curca.(J. curca.) in four solvent extra.ts a.d their proxim.te a.d m.nera. com.ositions. m.thods: Sta.da.d a.a.ytica. procedures were used for the determ.na.ion of phytochem.ca.s, proxim.te a.d m.nera. com.ositions of the lea., stem.ba.k a.d root extra.ts of J. curca.. Results: Results of the a.a.ysis showed the presence of polyphenols, fla.onoids, a.ka.oids, ca.dia. glycosides, coum.rins, sa.onins, terpenoids, steroids, triterpenoid sa.onins, ca.otenoids, phloba.a.nins a.d ta.nins in the lea., stem.ba.k a.d root of a.l the solvent extra.ts. Fla.onoids were present in the highest a.0}unt in the ethyl a.eta.e extra.ts of the lea.(7.35% ± 0.02%), stem.ba.k(4.12% ± 0.01%) a.d root(3.35% ± 0.02%) followed by polyphenols in the m.tha.ol extra.ts of lea.(4.62% ± 0.02%), stem.ba.k(2.77% ± 0.05%) a.d root(2.49% ± 0.02%). Poly-a.etyla.ed com.ounds were a.sent in a.l the solvent extra.ts of the lea., stem.ba.k a.d root. However, som. a.ti-nutritiona. a.ents such a. oxa.a.es, phyta.es a.d cya.a.es were present in a.l the solvent extra.ts of the lea., stem.ba.k a.d root except the ethyl a.eta.e. Phyta.es were high in the a.ueous solvent of the lea.(6.12% ± 0.00%) but low in the stem.ba.k(1.00% ± 0.05%) a.d root(0.89% ± 0.03%). Proxim.te com.osition showed a.precia.le a.0}unts of tota. ca.bohydra.e(36.33% ± 0.72%), crude protein(26.00% ± 0.47%) a.d reducing suga.s(5.87% ± 0.14%) in the lea., while crude fa. wa. m.re in the stem.ba.k(16.70% ± 0.30%). There wa. corresponding substa.tia. energy in the lea. [(1 514.77 ± 20.87) kJ /100 g] a.d stem.ba.k [(907.00 ± 8.52) kJ /100 g]. m.isture a.d a.h contents of the lea., stem.ba.k a.d root were within a.cepta.le lim.ts for the use in drugs form.la.ion. Children residing in the a.tonom.us zone of Som.lila.d a.e sim.la.ly vulnera.le to poor a.cess to hea.th ca.e services. Following the conduct of a.UNICEF-supported m.ltiple Indica.or Cluster Survey in Som.lila.d during 2011 which ca.tured inform.tion on im.uniza.ion system.perform.nce, a.survey wa. conducted to better understa.d the rea.ons for non-va.cina.ion a.0}ng children in Som.lila.d. m.thods: The Som.lila.d Routine Im.uniza.ion Non-Pa.ticipa.ion Survey (RINPS) wa. conducted in Novem.er 2012 to better understa.d the rea.ons for non-pa.ticipa.ion in both Child Hea.th Da.s (CHDs) a.d Routine Im.uniza.ion Services (RIS). RINPS wa. a.cross-sectiona. household survey which used a.two-sta.e sa.0}le design in order to obta.n a.representa.ive sa.0}le of children 0 - 59 m.nths of a.e residing in Som.lila.d. Thirty clusters were ra.dom.y selected from.the 303 clusters for pa.ticipa.ion in the 2011 Som.lila.d m.CS. a.tota. of 867 children a.ed 0 - 59 m.nths were identified a.d included in the a.a.ysis (overa.l response ra.e, 96%). Findings: Ca.egivers la.ked m.tiva.ion to ta.e their children to CHDs a.d for RIS a.d la.ked inform.tion a.out why children need im.uniza.ion. Routine va.cina.ion or CHD ca.ds were a.a.la.le for few children a. the tim. of the survey. a.m.st one-fifth of children a.ed 0 - 59 m.nths in Som.lila.d ha. not received a. lea.t one dose of va.cine for DTP, polio or m.a.les va.cine from.either CHD or RIS. Purpose: This study a.sesses the upta.e a.d contribution of support groups a.d Ea. sessions in the m.na.em.nt of a.olescents with unsuppressed VL results a. Centre Hospita.ier d’Essos, Ya.unde. m.thods: a.retrospective correla.iona. qua.tita.ive pa.ient files review wa. conducted for 138 files of HIV positive a.olescents a.ed between 10 - 19 yea.s with HIV VL a.ove 1000 copies/m. enrolled in ca.e between Ja.ua.y 2009 a.d Decem.er 2019. Da.a.from.the questionna.re wa. entered into CSPRO version 7.4. a.d a.a.yzed by using SPSS version 25.0. Results: a.tota. of 138 pa.ticipa.ts (75 fem.les a.d 63 m.les) with a.m.a. a.e of 15 ± 3 yea.s were included in our study. Sixty-nine (50%) pa.ticipa.ts were in World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion (WHO) sta.e I;32.6% were in Sta.e II;13.0% a.d 4.3% were in sta.es III a.d IV, respectively. Thirty (21.7%) ha. a.history of tuberculosis a.d 76% of the a.olescents were being ca.ed for prim.rily by their pa.ents. The cha.ts of the a.olescents revea.ed tha. there wa. a. a.socia.ion between com.letion of Ea. sessions in a.olescents with unsuppressed VL a.d eventua. Ba.kground: Roa. tra.fic injury rem.ins a.m.jor source of blunt a.dom.na. tra.m. (Ba.). Roa. tra.fic injury a.d other form. of tra.m. ha.e becom. a.m.jor hea.th problem.throughout the world especia.ly in low a.d m.ddle-incom. countries. In a.previous study (2005-2007), a.dom.na. tra.m. constituted 79 (4.8%) of tra.m. ca.es;Ba., 40 (53%) a.d penetra.ing a.dom.na. tra.m. (Pa.), 39 (47%). Effective policies on roa. sa.ety should be developed ba.ed on loca. resea.ch a.d not on a.a.ted m.dels. We present this study to highlight the possible effect of legisla.ion on the ba. of the use of m.torcycles on blunt a.dom.na. tra.m.. m.thods: Pa.ients tha. presented to the University of Ca.a.a. Tea.hing Hospita., Ca.a.a. with Ba. from.2008-2010 were prospectively studied ba.ed on a.questionna.re following the legisla.ion prohibiting the use of m.torcycles. Results: a.tota. of 12,083 pa.ients presented during the study period, tra.m. pa.ients tota.ed 4942 (41%), of this, 48 (1%) suffered a.dom.na. tra.m.: Ba. 19 (40%), penetra.ing a.dom.na. tra.m. (Pa.) 29 (60%). The a.e ra.ge of the pa.ients wa. from.5 to 48 yea.s (m.a. 26.6 yea.s) with a.m.F = 5.3:1. Roa. tra.fic a.cident (RTa. 17 (90%) [m.torvehicle 7 (37%), m.torcycles 10 (53%)] wa. the com.onest ca.se of tra.m.. The spleen wa. the com.onest injured orga. 14 (74%). Conclusion: Roa. tra.fic injury constitutes a.public hea.th cha.lenge a.d the ha.lm.rk is prevention.
