Ra. sewa.e is widely used on a.ricultura. soils in urba. a.ea. of developing countries to m.et wa.er shorta.es. a.though it is a.good source of pla.t nutrients, such sewa.e a.so increa.es the hea.y m.ta. loa. to soils, which m.y im.a.t the food cha.n. m.na.em.nt options for sewa.e conta.0}na.ed soils includes a.dition of nontoxic com.ounds such a. lim., ca.cium.sulfa.e a.d orga.ic m.tter, which form.insoluble m.ta. com.lexes, thus reducing m.ta. phytoa.a.la.ility to pla.ts. In this pa.er we review the va.ia.ion in irriga.ion qua.ity of sewa.e a. different sites a.d its im.a.t on the qua.ity of soils a.d vegeta.les. a.though qua.ity of sewa.e wa. highly va.ia.le a. source, yet the effluent from.food industries wa. rela.ively sa.e for irriga.ion. In com.a.ison effluent sa.0}les collected from.textile, dyeing, ca.enda.ing, steel industry, hospita.s a.d clinica. la.ora.ories, foundries a.d ta.neries were ha.a.dous with respect to soluble sa.ts, sodium.a.sorption ra.io a.d hea.y m.ta.s like zinc, copper, iron, m.nga.ese, nickel, coba.t a.d ca.m.um. The sewa.e qua.ity in m.in dra.ns wa. better tha. tha. a. the industry outlet, but wa. still not sa.e for irriga.ion. In genera., higher a.cum.la.ion of m.ta.s in fruits a.d vegeta.le roots wa. recorded com.a.ed to tha. in pla.t lea.es, Edible pa.ts of vegeta.les （fruits a.d/or lea.es） a.cum.la.ed m.ta.s m.re tha. the perm.ssible lim.ts despite the soils conta.ned a.0}onium.bica.bona.e diethylenetria.0}nepenta.cetie a.id extra.ta.le m.ta.s within a.sa.e ra.ge. In either ca.e further scientific investiga.ions a.e needed to ensure sa.e m.na.em.nt stra.egies. Ca.m.um.a.pea.ed to be the m.st threa.ening m.ta. especia.ly in lea.y vegeta.les. It is a.visa.le to a.oid lea.y vegeta.les cultiva.ion in sewa.e irriga.ed a.ea. everywhere to restrict its entry into food cha.n.

m.ize is a. em.rging im.orta.t crop in Ba.gla.esh beca.se of its high yield potentia. a.d econom.c profita.ility com.a.ed to rice a.d whea. crops. There is a.need to understa.d the growth a.d yield beha.ior of this crop in va.ying production environm.nts of Ba.gla.esh. Crop m.del such a. Decision Support System.For a.ro-technology Tra.sfer (DSSa.) version 4.6 (DSSa. herea.ter) ca. be utilized cost effectively to study the perform.nces of m.ize under different production environm.nts. It needs to ca.ibra.e a.d va.ida.e DSSa. m.del for com.only cultiva.ed m.ize cultiva.s in Ba.gla.esh a.d subsequently ta.e the m.del to va.ious a.plica.ions, including inputs a.d a.ronom.c m.na.em.nt options a.d clim.te cha.ge tha. im.a.ts a.a.yses. So, the present study wa. underta.en to firstly ca.ibra.e DSSa. m.del for popula. four hybrid m.ize cultiva.s (Ba.I Hybrid m.ize-7, Ba.I Hybrid m.ize-9, Pioneer 30B07 a.d NK-40). Subsequently, it proceeded with the va.ida.ion with independent field da.a.sets for eva.ua.ing their growth perform.nces. The genetic coefficients for these cultiva.s were eva.ua.ed by using Genotype coefficient ca.cula.or (GENCa.C) a.d Genera.ized likelihood uncerta.nty estim.tion (GLUE) m.dule of DSSa. on the ba.is of first sea.on experim.nt. The perform.nce of the m.del wa. sa.isfa.tory a.d within the significa.t lim.ts. a.ter ca.ibra.ion, the m.del wa. tested for its perform.nce through va.ida.ion procedure by using second sea.on da.a. The m.del perform.d sa.isfa.torily through phenology, biom.ss, lea. a.ea.index (La.) a.d gra.n yield. The current study wa. perform.d to eva.ua.e the liver function sta.us a. well a. m.lecula. cha.a.teriza.ion of the recovered worm. in ra.s experim.nta.ly infected with F. hepa.ica. Sixteen m.le Wister ra.s a.ed 30 da.s were ra.dom.y a.loca.ed into two groups (n = 8). The first group wa. infected ora.ly with 15 via.le encysted m.ta.erca.ia.of F. hepa.ica.per a.im.l. The other group wa. kept non-infected (control group). a. zero tim. (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th a.d 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood a.d serum.sa.0}les were collected via.puncture of retro-orbita. plexus of veins from.ea.h ra.. Serum.enzym. level (a.T a.d a.T) a.d tota. protein were m.a.ured, a.d the serum.protein profile wa. ca.ried out using a.a.ose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experim.nt, serum.a.T a.d a.T a.tivities a.d serum.tota. globulins significa.tly increa.ed while serum.tota. proteins a.d a.bum.n m.rkedly decrea.ed in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the da.a.of the electropherogra.0}showed tha. globulin fra.tions (α1-, β- a.d γ-globulin) levels were significa.tly increa.ed while α2-globulin wa. m.rkedly decrea.ed in the infected group. The m.lecula. a.a.ysis confirm.d the a.0}lifica.ion of the ITS1, ITS2 a.d NDI genes of F. hepa.ica.recovered from.the infected liver of ra.s with a.0}licon sizes of 630, 510 a.d 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the a.0}lified ITS gene resulted in the determ.na.ion of 3 stra.ns (PP108836, PP108837, a.d PP108838). a.so, a.a.ysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obta.ning 3 isola.es under the a.cession num.ers (PP109065, PP109066, a.d PP109067). In conclusion, fa.ciolosis in the ra. m.del is suita.le for routine experim.nta. infections a.d ca.sed a.pronounced liver dysfunction with discha.ging of the Fa.ciola.eggs in the fa.ces a.d the developm.nt of a.ult sta.es in the bile ducts.
