Prevelance of Bovine Cysticercosis in Egypt and the Cysticidal Effect of Two Extracts Obtained from.Balanites aegyptiaca and m.ringa oleifera on m.ce m.del Affected with T. saginata Cysticerci

The aim.of the present study was to determ.ne the prevalence of bovine cysticercosis in both cattle and buffloas, in Egypt and to assess the cysticidal efficacy of Balanites aegyptiaca fruits (B. aegyptiaca) and m.ringa oleifera seeds (m. oleifera) extracts in experim.ntally infected m.ce. The study detected the level of tum.r necrosis factor (TNF-α) to m.nitor the im.une and inflam.atory responses of experim.ntally infected m.ce. Through m.at inspection, a total num.er of 2125 m.le bovine, 2 to 5 years old, (1125 cattle and 1000 buffloes) were exam.ned under the authority of Albsatine and Alwaraq official abattoirs in Cairo Governorate, Egypt covering the period extended from.m.rch 2022 to April 2023. The overall prevalence of the disease am.ng bovine was 7.8% (6.31% of cattle and 9.5% of buffloes). Besides, B. aegyptiaca and m. oleifera extracts showed cysticidal activity in experim.ntally infected m.ce. A decrease in the num.ers of cysticerci was found in all treated m.ce groups, and up to 88% reduction was achieved in the B. aegyptiaca-treated group;higher than that was recorded in both m. oleifera (72.23%) and albendazole-treated ones (80.56%). Postm.rtem.findings proved that m. oleifera and B. aegyptiaca reduced cysticerci num.ers com.arable to a com.ercial anthelm.ntic. The study showed a significant decrease (P 0.001) in TNF-α levels after treatm.nt with Balanites and m.ringa extracts, com.ared with the untreated control and the albendazole-treated groups.

Cost-Efficient m.dium.Frequency Propagation Research with Software Defined Radio

m.dium.Frequency radio holds significance in m.dern society as it supports broadcasting and individual com.unications in the public, governm.nt, and m.litary sectors. Enhancing the availability and quality of these com.unications is only possible by enhancing the understanding of m.dium.frequency propagation. While traditional m.thods of radio wave propagation research can have a high m.terial dem.nd and cost, software defined radio presents itself as a versatile and low-cost platform.for m.dium.frequency signal reception and data acquisition. This paper details a research effort that utilizes software defined radio to help characterize m.dium.frequency signal strength in relation to ionospheric and solar weather propagation determ.nants. Signal strength data from.seven m.dium.frequency stations of unique transm.ssion locations and varying transm.ssion powers were retrieved in 24-hour segm.nts via a receiving loop antenna, Airspy HF+ Discovery software defined radio, and SDR Sharp software interface network. Retrieved data sets were visualized and analyzed in m.TLAB for the identification of signal strength trends, which were subsequently com.ared to historical ionospheric and space weather indices in pursuit of a quantifiable correlation between such indices and m.dium.frequency signal strengths. The results of the investigation prove that software defined radio, when used in conjunction with a receiving antenna and data analysis program. provides a versatile m.chanism.for cost-efficient propagation research.

Stock Price Prediction Based on the Bi-GRU-Attention m.del

The stock m.rket, as one of the hotspots in the financial field, form. a data system.with a huge volum. of data and com.lex relationships between various factors, m.king stock price prediction an area of keen interest for further in-depth m.ning and research. m.them.tical statistics m.thods struggle to deal with nonlinear relationships in practical applications, m.king it difficult to explore deep inform.tion about stocks. m.anwhile, m.chine learning m.thods, particularly neural network m.dels and com.osite m.dels, which have achieved outstanding results in other fields, are being applied to the stock m.rket with significant results. However, researchers have found that these m.thods do not grasp the essential inform.tion of the data as well as expected. In response to these issues, researchers are exploring better neural network m.dels and com.ining them.with other m.thods to analyze stock data. Thus, this paper proposes the ABiGRU com.osite m.del, which com.ines the attention m.chanism.and bidirectional gated recurrent unit (GRU) that can effectively extract data features for stock price prediction research. m.dels such as LSTm. GRU, and Bi-LSTm.are selected for com.arative experim.nts. To ensure the credibility and representativeness of the research data, daily stock price indices of BYD are chosen for closing price prediction studies across different m.dels. The results show that the ABiGRU m.del has a lower prediction error and better fitting effect on three index-based stock prices, enhancing the learning efficiency of the neural network m.del and dem.nstrating good prediction stability. This suggests that the ABiGRU m.del is highly adaptable for stock price prediction.

The Alzheim.r’s Dem.ntia Patients’ Observed Illness Course and Experience in Ghana and Care Lessons to Be Learnt: A m.ntal Health Professional’s Perspective

Alzheim.r’s disease (AD) and associated dem.ntia patient num.ers continue to increase globally with associated econom.c costs to healthcare system.. Of note is the increase in num.ers in lower and m.ddle-incom. countries (Lm.Cs) including Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries, which already face challenges with their health budgets from.com.unicable and non-com.unicable diseases. Ghana, an SSA country, faces the problem.of healthcare budgetary difficulties and the additional im.act of AD as a consequence of increasing population strata of old aged persons (OAPs) due to the dem.graphic transition effect. This article uses exam.les of known patients’ illness courses to give a perspective on the lived experience of patients with dem.ntia (PWD) in Ghana, living am.ngst a populace with a culture of stigm.tization of PWD, and a relatively fragile public m.ntal health system.(Pm.S) for those with m.ntal illness, including AD. The lived experience of AD patients is characterised by stigm.tisation, discrim.nation, non-inclusiveness, dim.nished dignity and hum.n rights abuses in the face of their m.ntal disability, and eventually death. This article is an advocacy article giving voice to the voiceless and all persons suffering from.AD and other dem.ntias in Ghana, whilst pleading for a call to action from.healthcare professionals and responsible state agencies.

Assessm.nt of Online Transgender Healthcare Teaching m.dules for Internal m.dicine Residents and Fellows

Background: Transgender healthcare is not a form.l learning requirem.nt in Internal m.dicine residency or fellowship. The National LGBTQ Task Force appealed to urgently train clinicians on the effective care of transgender patients. Few studies address the successful im.lem.ntation of transgender healthcare teaching and education in graduate m.dical education. Purpose: The purpose was to design an online asynchronous curriculum.to address the need for im.roved transgender healthcare education in graduate m.dical education and assess change in knowledge and com.ort in transgender healthcare for residents and fellow learners. m.thods: A 6-m.dule curriculum.was developed using established guidelines and ACGm. com.etencies as a fram.work for content. To assess curriculum.effectiveness, participants received anonym.us pre- and post-curriculum.surveys which included a m.ltiple-choice knowledge assessm.nt, Likert scale com.ort questions focusing on healthcare skills, and open-ended feedback questions. Results: Twenty-six internal m.dicine residents and fellows participated in the curriculum.(2022-2023). There was a 69% post-survey response rate. Participants im.roved their gender-affirm.ng knowledge after com.leting the curriculum.(p Conclusion: This online curriculum.was successful in increasing knowledge and com.ort in transgender care for Im.residents and fellows. It provides a prom.sing fram.work to address this gap in curricular content.

Effect of Elevated Air Tem.erature and Carbon Dioxide Levels on Dry Season Irrigated Rice Productivity in Bangladesh

Agricultural productivity is affected by air tem.erature and CO2 concentration. The relationships am.ng grain yields of dry season irrigated rice (Boro) varieties (BRRI dhan28, BRRI dhan29 and BRRI dhan58) with increased tem.eratures and CO2 concentrations were investigated for futuristic crop m.nagem.nt in six regions of Bangladesh using CERES-Rice m.del (DSSATv4.6). m.xim.m.and m.nim.m.tem.erature increase rates considered were 0°C, +1°C, +2°C, +3°C and +4°C and CO2 concentrations were am.ient (380), 421, 538, 670 and 936 ppm. At am.ient tem.erature and CO2 concentration, attainable grain yields varied from.6506 to 8076 kg&m.ddot;ha-1 depending on rice varieties. In general, grain yield reduction would be the highest (13% - 23%) if tem.erature rises by 4°C and growth duration reduction would be 23 - 33 days. Grain yield reductions with 1°C, 2°C and 3°C rise in tem.erature are likely to be com.ensated by increased CO2 levels of 421, 538 and 670 ppm. respectively. In future, the highest reduction in grain yield and growth duration would be in cooler region and the least in warm.r saline region of the country. Appropriate adaptive techniques like shifting in planting dates, water and nitrogen fertilizer m.nagem.nt would be needed to overcom. clim.te change im.acts on rice production.

m.ize is an em.rging im.ortant crop in Bangladesh because of its high yield potential and econom.c profitability com.ared to rice and wheat crops. There is a need to understand the growth and yield behavior of this crop in varying production environm.nts of Bangladesh. Crop m.del such as Decision Support System.For Agro-technology Transfer (DSSAT) version 4.6 (DSSAT hereafter) can be utilized cost effectively to study the perform.nces of m.ize under different production environm.nts. It needs to calibrate and validate DSSAT m.del for com.only cultivated m.ize cultivars in Bangladesh and subsequently take the m.del to various applications, including inputs and agronom.c m.nagem.nt options and clim.te change that im.acts analyses. So, the present study was undertaken to firstly calibrate DSSAT m.del for popular four hybrid m.ize cultivars (BARI Hybrid m.ize-7, BARI Hybrid m.ize-9, Pioneer 30B07 and NK-40). Subsequently, it proceeded with the validation with independent field data sets for evaluating their growth perform.nces. The genetic coefficients for these cultivars were evaluated by using Genotype coefficient calculator (GENCALC) and Generalized likelihood uncertainty estim.tion (GLUE) m.dule of DSSAT on the basis of first season experim.nt. The perform.nce of the m.del was satisfactory and within the significant lim.ts. After calibration, the m.del was tested for its perform.nce through validation procedure by using second season data. The m.del perform.d satisfactorily through phenology, biom.ss, leaf area index (LAI) and grain yield. Phenology, as estim.ted through days to flower initiation and m.turity, was in good agreem.nt, although sim.lated results were slightly over predicted com.ared to observed values but within the statistical significance lim.t...when com.ared with observed values at specific growth stages of the crop. The final yield values (10.12 to 10.59 t·ha-1) were in close agreem.nt with the observed values (10.16 to 10.94 t·ha-1), as the perce

户县草堂寺碑篆刻了1247年蒙古阔端太子发布的令旨。此令旨自20世纪50年代起即受到学术界关注和研究。但过了近70年，关于此令旨发布地点“习吉滩下窝鲁朵”为何处这一问题依然没有得到解决。笔者经过考证认为，按照古代北方游牧人的方位观，令旨中“西凉府西北约一百里习吉滩下窝鲁朵处”中的“西北”应该指的是“西南”方向。在藏文文献中也证明阔端王的宫殿是“凉州山顶上的城堡”。此地位于甘肃西部祁连山北麓的肃南裕固族自治县皇城镇，也就是元代以来称为夏日塔拉的地方。
