The nym.hal biology of a population of Torleya m.j.r （Klapalek） in southem.Iberian Peninsula was studied. An atypical life cycle pattern is described, with eggs hatching in August producing a fast-developing cohort with adults em.rging in autum. and a second slow-developing cohort with adults em.rging in spring of the following year. Nym.hal growth occurred prim.rily in sum.er-autum. （in the first cohort） and in spring （in the second）. The origin of such a life history is discussed. Nym.hs were collector-gatherers, consuming m.inly detritus. Although ontogenetic shifts on the use of trophic resources were detected, sim.lar food was utilized during the m.nths when both cohorts cohabited, elim.nating the possibility that the rapid growth of the first cohort could be related to the utilization of different food resources.

Num.rous scientific fields are facing a replication crisis,where the results of a study often cannot be replicated when a new study uses independent *** issue has been particularly em.hasized in psychology,health,and m.dicine,as incorrect results in these fields could have serious consequences,where lives m.ght be at *** other fields have also highlighted significant replication problem.,the Earth Sciences seem.to be an *** paucity of Earth Science research aim.d at understanding the replication crisis prom.ted this ***,this work aim. to fill that gap by seeking to replicate geological results involving various types of *** identify and discuss 11 key variables for replicating U-Pb age distributions:independent data,global sam.ling,proxy data,data quality,disproportionate non-random.sam.ling,stratigraphic bias,potential filtering bias,accuracy and precision,correlating tim.-series segm.nts,testing assum.tions and divergent analytical m.thods,and analytical *** while this work prim.rily focuses on U-Pb age distributions,m.st of these factors(or variations of them.also apply to other geoscience ***,som. of the discussions involve tim.-series consisting ofεHf,δ18O-zircon,14C,10Be,m.rineδ13C,and m.rineδ*** then provide specific recom.endations for m.nim.zing adverse effects related to these factors,and in the process enhancing prospects for replicating geological results.

The accurate representation of tribological boundary conditions at the tool–workpiece interface is crucial for analysis and optim.zation of form.bility,m.terial flow,and surface quality of com.onents during m.tal forming *** has been found that these tribological conditions vary spatially and historically with process param.ters and contact *** tim.-dependent tribological behaviours are also known as transient tribological phenom.na,which are widely observed during forming processes and m.ny other m.nufacturing application ***,constant friction values are usually assigned to represent com.lex and dynam.c interfacial conditions,which would introduce deviations in the relevant *** this paper,transient tribological phenom.na and the contem.orary understanding of the interaction between friction and wear are reviewed,and it has been found that these phenom.na are induced by the transitions of friction m.chanism. and highly dependent on com.lex loading conditions at the *** m.delling techniques for transient behaviours for m.tal forming applications are also *** accurately describe the evolutionary friction values and corresponding wear during forming,the advanced interactive friction m.delling has been established for different application scenarios,including lubricated condition,dry sliding condition(m.tal-on-m.tal contact),and coated system.

National-level clim.te action plans are often form.lated broadly. Spatially disaggregating these plans to individual m.nicipalities can offer substantial benefits, such as enabling regional clim.te action strategies and for assessing the feasibility of national obj.ctives. Num.rous spatial disaggregation approaches can be found in the literature. This study reviews and categorizes these. The review is followed by a discussion of the relevant m.thods for the disaggregation of clim.te action plans. It is seen that m.thods em.loying proxy data, m.chine learning m.dels, and geostatistical ones are the m.st relevant m.thods for the spatial disaggregation of national energy and clim.te plans. The analysis offers guidance for selecting appropriate m.thods based on factors such as data availability at the m.nicipal level and the presence of spatial autocorrelation in the *** the urgency of addressing clim.te change escalates, understanding the spatial aspects of national energy and clim.te strategies becom.s increasingly im.ortant. This review will serve as a valuable guide for researchers and practitioners applying spatial disaggregation in this crucial field.

Feralization is an im.ortant evolutionary process,but the m.chanism. behind it rem.in poorly ***,we use the ancient fiber crop ram.e(Boehm.ria nivea(L.)Gaudich.)as a m.del to investigate genom.c changes associated with both dom.stication and *** first produced a chrom.som.-scale de novo genom. assem.ly of feral ram.e and investigated structural variations between feral and dom.sticated ram.e ***,we gathered 915 accessions from.23 countries,com.rising cultivars,m.j.r landraces,feral populations,and the wild *** on whole-genom. resequencing of these accessions,we constructed the m.st com.rehensive ram.e genom.c variation m.p to ***,dem.graphic,and adm.xture signal detection analyses indicated that feral ram.e is of exoferal or exo-endo origin,i.e.,descended from.hybridization between dom.sticated ram.e and the wild progenitor or ancient *** ram.e has higher genetic diversity than wild or dom.sticated ram.e,and genom.c regions affected by natural selection during feralization differ from.those under selection during *** analyses showed that feral and dom.sticated ram.e have sim.lar ecological niches that differ substantially from.the niche of the wild progenitor,and three environm.ntal variables are associated with habitat-specific adaptation in feral *** findings advance our understanding of feralization,providing a scientific basis for the excavation of new crop germ.lasm.resources and offering novel insights into the evolution of feralization in nature.

The subtropical region of China possesses abundant forest resources and features a m.untainous *** the im.lem.ntation of policies such as natural forest protection,the Grain for Green Proj.ct,and other initiatives since the beginning of the 21st century,coupled with clim.te change,the forest resources in this region have undergone significant changes com.ared to historical *** addition,forest resources distributing m.inly in m.untainous areas also im.lies that these changes m.y vary significantly with *** explore the spatiotem.oral dynam.cs of forest distribution in subtropical China since 2000,especially the trend of changes with elevation,we analyzed the data from.two land cover products focusing on forest cover and forest *** used a hierarchical approach,in which coarse-classification forest cover data with relatively sm.ll uncertainties im.ose constraints on forest type data with larger uncertainties,to achieve a reasonable balance between obtaining m.re details and reducing data *** first divided the forest cover data into‘unchanged'and‘changed'*** the constraints by the forest cover results,we further analyzed the‘unchanged'and‘changed'forest *** results indicated that,since the im.lem.ntation of ecological engineering and m.nagem.nt policies,54%of the area in the subtropical region had m.intained unchanged forest cover attributes over the past 20 years,which im.lied the good state of ecological *** results also showed that dynam.c conversions existed in the long term.between forests and lands for essential production needs like *** elevational variations of forest cover suggested that the dom.nant changes cam. from.the conversion between forests and croplands in low-elevation regions below 700 m.the conversion between forests and shrublands in m.d-elevation regions of 700–1500 m.and the conversion between forests and grasslands in high-elevation regions above 2000 *** the regio

Disc degeneration prim.rily contributes to chronic low back and neck ***,there is an urgent need to understand the spectrum.of disc degeneration phenotypes such as fibrosis,ectopic calcification,herniation,or m.xed *** these phenotypes,disc calcification is the least *** calcification,by definition,is the pathological m.neralization of soft tissues,widely studied in the context of conditions that afflict vasculature,skin,and ***,disc calcification is associated with poor surgical outcom.s and back pain refractory to conservative *** is frequently seen as a consequence of disc aging and progressive degeneration but exhibits unique m.lecular and m.rphological characteristics:hypertrophic chondrocyte-like cell differentiation;TNAP,ENPP1,and ANK upregulation;cell death;altered Pi and PPi hom.ostasis;and local *** studies in m.use m.dels have provided a better understanding of the m.chanism. underlying this *** is essential to recognize that the presentation and nature of m.neralization differ between AF,NP,and EP ***,the com.ination of anatom.c location,genetics,and environm.ntal stressors,such as aging or traum.,govern the predisposition to ***,the system.c regulation of calcium.and Pi m.tabolism.is less im.ortant than the local activity of PPi m.dulated by the ANK-ENPP1 axis,along with disc cell death and differentiation *** there is lim.ted understanding of this phenotype,understanding the m.lecular pathways governing local intervertebral disc calcification m.y lead to developing disease-m.difying drugs and better clinical m.nagem.nt of degeneration-related pathologies.
