Laser plasm. accelerators(LPAs)enable the generation of.intense and short proton bunches on a m.crom.tre scale,thus of.ering new experim.ntal capabilities to research f.elds such as ultra-high dose rate radiobiology or m.terial *** spectrally broadband,laser-accelerated proton bunches allow f.r tailored volum.tric dose deposition in a sam.le via single bunches to excite or probe specif.c sam.le *** rising num.er of.such experim.nts indicates a need f.r diagnostics providing spatially resolved characterization of.dose distributions with volum.s of.approxim.tely 1 cm.(3) f.r single proton bunches to allow f.r f.st online *** we present the scintillator-based m.niSCIDOm.detector f.r online single-bunch tom.graphic reconstruction of.dose distributions in volum.s of.up to approxim.tely 1 cm.(3).The detector achieves a spatial resolution below 500μm.and a sensitivity of.100 *** detector perf.rm.nce is tested at a proton therapy cyclotron and an LPA proton *** experim.nts’prim.ry f.cus is the characterization of.the scintillator’s ionization quenching behaviour.

Coinf.ction with hum.n im.unodef.ciency virus (HIV) and viral hepatitis is associated with high m.rbidity and m.rtality in the absence of.clinical m.nagem.nt, m.king identif.cation of.these cases crucial. Screening f.r hepatitis viral-HIV coinf.ction bef.re initiation of.treatm.nt f.r viral hepatitis or HIV is recom.ended. In this context, we report a case of.possible cross-reaction between the serology of.viral hepatitis C and HIV inf.ction by rapid diagnostic orientation tests. Although these rapid tests are the m.in diagnostic tools in developing countries, their scientif.c validation m.st be required bef.re they are m.de available to practitioners. The knowledge and the rigorous application of.diagnostic algorithm. of.viral inf.ctions will m.ke it possible to save m.ney and to better organize the prevention and m.nagem.nt strategies f.r patients as part of.an integrated Hepatitis/HIV program.

The captive white-tailed deer industry has an estim.ted im.act of.1.6 billion USD in the state of.Texas alone. However, nutritional requirem.nts f.r cervids are determ.ned through research based on sheep and goats. The obj.ctive of.this study was to determ.ne the ef.ects of.zinc on dif.erences in dry m.tter digestibility in vitro f.r white-tailed does (Odocoileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethically harvested, rum.ns were collected, and placed into a cooler containing warm.water. Rum.n contents were agitated, and f.uid was f.ltered using cheese cloth while applying CO2. f.uid was placed into f.ur separate incubator j.rs with f.lter bags containing a 1:1 alf.lf. to coastal hay blend. Zinc doses of.0.073 m./kg/d equivalents were added to two of.the j.rs ( Zn), and the additional two j.rs received 0.00 m./kg/d (CON). f.llowing 48 h of.incubation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no signif.cant dif.erences between the control and the treatm.nt groups. Average dry m.tter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respectively. There were no dif.erences detected in ADf. NDf. IVTD, or Om.between the treatm.nt groups. While no detectable dif.erences were observed in this study, this m.thodology did prove to be viable and f.nctional f.r m.crobial digestion in vitro. This study can be replicated with m.ltiple experim.ntal units to conf.rm.the observations of.increased digestibility. f.rm.l nutritional guidelines can be created to allow f.r m.re ef.icient f.eding of.cervids thereby reducing f.ed costs and continuing the growth of.the captive deer industry.

We have recently proposed a new technique of.plasm. tailoring by laser-driven hydrodynam.c shockwaves generated on both sides of.a gas j.t[m.rquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a continuation of.this num.rical work,we study experim.ntally the inf.uence of.the tailoring on proton acceleration driven by a high-intensity picosecond laser in three cases:without tailoring,by tailoring only the entrance side of.the picosecond laser,and by tailoring both sides of.the gas *** tailoring,the acceleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energy exponential spectrum.produced by Coulom. *** the f.ont side of.the gas j.t is tailored,a f.rward acceleration appears,which is signif.cantly enhanced when both the f.ont and back sides of.the plasm. are *** f.rward acceleration produces higher-energy protons,with a peaked spectrum.and is in good agreem.nt with the m.chanism.of.collisionless shock acceleration(CSA).The spatiotem.oral evolution of.the plasm. prof.le is characterized by optical shadowgraphy of.a probe *** ref.action and absorption of.this beam.are sim.lated by post-processing 3D hydrodynam.c sim.lations of.the plasm. *** with the experim.ntal results allows estim.tion of.the thickness and near-critical density of.the plasm. slab produced by tailoring both sides of.the gas *** param.ters are in good agreem.nt with those required f.r CSA.

This work explored possibilities of.biodegradable m.gnesium.alloy m.-3Y preparation by two m.dern powder m.tallurgy techniques–spark plasm. sintering(SPS)and selective laser m.lting(SLm..The powder m.terial was consolidated by both m.thods utilising optim.sed param.ters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLm.m.terial and unm.asurably low porosity in the SPS *** m.in aim.of.the study was the thorough m.crostructure characterisation and interrelation between the m.crostructure and the f.nctional properties,such as m.chanical strength,def.rm.bility,and corrosion *** m.terials showed com.arable strength of.110 m.a in tension and com.ression and relatively good def.rm.bility of.9%and∼21%f.r the SLm.and SPS m.terials,*** corrosion resistance of.the SPS m.terial in 0.1 m.NaCl solution was superior to the SLm.one and com.arable to the conventional extruded *** digital im.ge correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of.the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dom.nant negative ef.ect on the f.nctional properties of.the SLm.*** the other hand,one of.the prim.ry outcom.s of.this study is that the SPS consolidation m.thod is very ef.ective in the preparation of.the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in m.terial with convenient m.chanical and degradation properties that m.ght f.nd practical applications.
