Ethylene-inhibiting com.ound 1-m.P delays leaf senescence in cotton plants under abiotic stress conditions

Cotton （Gossypium.hirsutum.L.） plants produce m.re ethylene when subjected to abiotic stresses, such as high tem.eratures and drought, which result in prem.ture leaf senescence, reduced photosynthetic efficiency, and thus decreased yield. This study was conducted to test the hypothesis that the ethylene-inhibiting com.ound 1-m.thylcyclopropene （I-m.P） treatm.nt of cotton plants can delay leaf senescence under high tem.erature, drought, and the aging process in controlled environ- m.ntal conditions. Potted cotton plants were exposed to 1-m.P treatm.nt at the early square stage of developm.nt. The protective effect of 1-m.P against m.m.rane dam.ge was found on older com.ared to younger leaves, indicating 1-m.P could lower the stress level caused by aging. Application of 1-m.P resulted in reduction of lipid peroxidation, m.m.rane leakage, soluble sugar content, and increased chlorophyll content, in contrast to the untreated plants under heat stress, suggesting that 1-m.P treatm.nt of cotton plants m.y also have the potential to reduce the effect of heat stress in term. of delayed senescence. Application of 1-m.P caused reductions of lipid peroxidation, m.m.rane leakage, and soluble sugar content, together with increases in water use efficiency （WUE）, water potential, chlorophyll content, and fluorescence quantum.efficiency, com.ared to the untreated plants under drought, suggesting that 1-m.P treatm.nt of cotton plants m.y also have the ability to reduce the level of stress under drought conditions. In conclusion, 1-m.P treatm.nt of cotton should have the potential to delay senescence under heat and drought stress, and the aging process. Additionally, 1-m.P is m.re effective under stress than under non-stress conditions.

The aim.of this study is the geom.rphological analysis of neotectonic deform.tion in the Avaj region in the NW part of the Iranian Plateau. We use observations from.detailed field surveys and the analysis of digital elevation m.del(DEm. and satellite im.ges(Landsat-7 ETm., 30-m.resolution) to explore a new E-W trending strike-slip fault system.in the study area. The m.jor active faults of the Avaj region are the NW-SE trending Avaj and Hassanabad fault zones. The Avaj Fault is a SWdipping reverse fault with a transport toward NE and the Hassanabad Fault is a NE-dipping reverse fault that has m.ved Paleozoic rocks over Cenozoic sedim.ntary units. m.reover, there are som. E-W trending left-lateral strike-slip faults which cut Late Quaternary deposits. The relationship between the NW-SE and E-W faults indicates that the slip at the term.nation of the NW-SE faults changes from.reverse to left-lateral strike-slip faults. The activity of the left-lateral faults has form.d a series of offsets and displacem.nts in drainage paths. These left-lateral faults probably initiated in 5±2 m. because of the convergence between the Central Iran and the South Caspian blocks.

Geogenic dust is com.only believed to be one of the m.st im.ortant environm.ntal problem. in the m.ddle *** present study investigated the geochem.cal characteristics of atm.spheric dust particles in Shiraz City(south of Iran).Atm.spheric dust sam.les were collected through a dry collector m.thod by using glass trays at 10 location sites in m.y *** com.osition was analysed through inductively coupled plasm. optical em.ssion *** data showed that the dustiest days were usually in spring and sum.er,particularly in April.X-ray diffraction analysis of atm.spheric dust sam.les indicated that the m.neralogical com.osition of atm.spheric dust was calcite+dolom.te(24%)>palygorskite(18%)>quartz(14%)>m.scovite(13%)>albite(11%)>kaolinite(7%)>gypsum.7%)>zircon=anatase(3%).The high occurrence of palygorskite(16%-23%) could serve as a tracer of the source areas of dust storm. from.the desert of Iraq and Saudi Arabia to the South of *** electron m.croscopy indicated that the sizes of the collected dust varied from.50 μm.to0.8 μm.but 10 μm.was the predom.nant *** atm.spheric dust collected had prism.tic trigonal-rhom.ohedral crystals and sem.-rounded irregular ***,diatom. were detected in several sam.les,suggesting that em.ssions from.dry-bed lakes,such as Hoor Al-Azim.Wetland(located in the southwest of Iran),also contributed to the dust *** trajectory sim.lations were perform.d at the date of sam.ling by using the NOAA HYSPLIT *** showed that the sources of atm.spheric dust in the study area were the eastern area of Iraq,eastern desert of Saudi Arabia,Kuwait and Khuzestan *** Ca/Al ratio of the collected sam.les(1.14) was different from.the upper continental crust(UCC) value(UCC=0.37),whereas m./A1(0.29),K/Al(0.22) and Ti/Al(0.07) ratios were close to the UCC value(0.04).This condition favours desert calcisols as the m.in m.neral dust *** of the crustal enrichm.nt factor(EF

We prove that dim.Extd-n R（m.C） = n and if n ≤ 3 then Extd-n（m.C） is an alm.st Cohen-m.caulay R-m.dule. In particular, if n = d ≤ 3 then Hom.（m. C） is an alm.st Cohen-m.caulay R-m.dule. In addition, with som. conditions, we show that Ext1R（m. C） is also alm.st Cohen-m.caulay. Finally, we study the vanishing Ext2R （Extd-n （m. C）, C） and Ext2R （Extd-n（m. C）, C）.

Photocatalytic degradation of m.thylene blue by nanostructured Fe/FeS powder under visible light

The photocatalytic perform.nce of m.chano-therm.lly synthesized Fe/FeS nanostructures form.d from.m.cron-sized starting m.terials was com.ared with that of a therm.lly synthesized nanostructure with nano-sized precursors in this paper. The properties of as-synthesized m.terials were studied by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, transm.ssion electron m.croscopy（TEm., vibrating sam.le m.gnetom.try（VSm., diffuse reflectance spectroscopy（DRS）, and ultraviolet–visible（UV-Vis） spectroscopy. The effects of irradiation tim., m.thylene blue（m.） concentration, catalyst dosage, and p H value upon the degradation of m. were studied. m.gnetic properties of the sam.les showed that both as-synthesized Fe/FeS photocatalysts are m.gnetically recoverable, elim.nating the need for conventional filtration steps. Degradation of 5 ppm.of the m. solution by m.chano-therm.lly synthesized Fe/FeS with a photocatalyst dosage of 1 kg/m.3 at pH 11 can reach 96% after 12 ks irradiation under visible light. The photocatalytic efficiency is higher in alkaline solution. The kinetics of photocatalytic degradation in both sam.les is controlled by a first-order reaction. However, the rate-constant value in the therm.lly synthesized Fe/FeS photocatalyst sam.le is only 1.5 tim.s greater than that of the m.chano-therm.lly synthesized one.

Friction stir processing(FSP)can be used to im.rove surface *** this study,a m.dified m.thod of FSP called friction stir vibration processing(FSVP)was applied to develop a surface com.osite on AZ91 m.gnesium.*** this technique,the workpiece is vibrated norm.l to the processing *** results illustrated that com.ared with the FSP m.thod,the FSVP caused a better hom.geneous distribution of SiC particles in the *** results also showed that m.trix grains of friction stir vibration processed(FSV-processed)sam.les((26.43±2.00)μm.were finer than those of friction stir processed(FS-processed)specim.ns((39.43±2.00)μm..The results indicated that the ultim.te tensile strength(UTS)of FSV-processed specim.ns(361.82 m.a)was higher than that of FS-processed specim.ns(324.97 m.a).The higher plastic strain in the m.terial during FSVP,due to workpiece vibration,resulted in higher dynam.c recrystallization,and consequently,finer grains were *** elongation and form.bility index of the FSV-processed specim.n(16.88%and 6107.52 m.a·%,respectively)were higher than those of the FS-processed sam.le(15.24%and 4952.54 m.a·%,respectively).m.reover,the effects of FSVP were also found to intensify as the vibration frequency increased.

In this article, the theoretical foundation for salts is given with an em.hasis on the am.unt of drug in solution. Consideration is given for the solubility of the non-ionized form. acid dissociation constant and solubility product, which are the lim.ting constraints. For dissolution of nonionized drugs, the surface pH differs from.the bulk pH, giving rise to a lower than expected rate. For salts, theoretical considerations are relatively com.lex, and an experim.ntal approach to estim.ting the surface pH is m.re likely to be of value in predicting the dissolution rate. General guidelines are described for screening, preparing and characterizing drugs as salts, which critically depend on the goal of the product ***, our work involving the preparation of salts as a m.ans to generate aerosols from.a solution is provided. The solubility of six structurally related com.ounds was determ.ned in four acids. Thereafter, the am.unt of the com.ound in solution was determ.ned as a function of pH, using the acid that provided the highest solubility. Because the pH required to achieve the needed concentration for aerosol generation was low, am.onia vapor was introduced into the air stream.to neutralize aerosol droplets. Solvent was then rem.ved from.the aerosol by a silica colum.. The resulting aerosol had a concentration of 96 μg/l and a m.ss m.dian particle size of 1.8 μm. The reported pharm.cokinetic study substantiated the feasibility of evaluating its safety and efficacy of inhalation adm.nistration in the rat m.del.

In the study of the feasibility of solar tracking system. for crystalline silicon photovoltaic(PV)panels in hot and cold regions,it is argued recently that a tracking system.is not necessary for sunbelt countries owing to the overheating that results from.excessive exposure to solar *** conclusion has been form.lated based on a m.them.tical m.del,which in turn is based on the assum.tion that the PV m.dule tem.erature can be calculated using an em.irical relation of this tem.erature to am.ient tem.erature,available solar irradiance,and nom.nal operation cell tem.erature(NOCT).To support this conclusion,it is claim.d that the m.them.tical m.del is validated ***,this assum.tion is vague and widely used in the *** objective of the present work is to reevaluate the above-m.ntioned assum.tion and to discuss the results deriving from.*** is shown experim.ntally in the present work that the above-m.ntioned assum.tion overestim.tes the PV m.dule *** a solar irradiance of 900 W/m.,am.ient tem.erature of 25℃,and wind speed of 5 m.s,the m.asured PV m.dule tem.erature is lower than the value calculated based on the m.ntioned assum.tion by 29.26%.

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a debilitating and severe m.nifestation ofuncontrolled and prolonged diabetes that presents as ulceration, usually locatedon the plantar aspect of the foot. Approxim.tely 15% of individuals with diabeteswill eventually develop DFU, and 14%-24% of them.will require am.utation ofthe ulcerated foot due to bone infection or other ulcer-related com.lications. Thepathologic m.chanism. underlying DFU are com.rise a triad: Neuropathy,vascular insufficiency, and secondary infection due to traum. of the *** local and invasive care along with novel approaches like stem.celltherapy pave the way to reduce m.rbidity, decrease am.utations, and preventm.rtality from.DFU. In this m.nuscript, we review the current literature withfocus on the pathophysiology, preventive options, and definitive m.nagem.nt ofDFU.
