The Prevalence of Oral Lesions am.ng Palestinian Dental Patients Attending Oral m.dicine Dental Clinics at Al-Quds University

Objectives: In Palestine, there are no data about the prevalence of oral lesions or their associated risk factors. Thus, this study cam. to assess the prevalence and the risk factors of oral lesions am.ng adult dental patients visiting Al-Quds University (AQU) Dental Clinics. m.terials and m.thods: Three hundred Twenty patients were diagnosed clinically for the presence of oral lesions at oral m.dicine clinics at Al-Quds University in the period between 2015 to 2016. Their age ranged from.21 to 60 years old (m.an age: 40.2 ± 17.6). Senior students were trained to conduct the oral exam.under the direct supervision of Oral m.dicine specialist. Trained students also collected data on patients’ dem.graphics, dental history, m.dical history and other health related habits. Descriptive and bivariate analyses were generated to describe lesions prevalence and associations with other suggested factors. Results: A total of 68 lesions were found in this study (29.4% of study’s sam.le). Recurrent aphthous ulcer, traum.tic ulcer and geographic tongue were the m.st com.on oral lesions. Ten oral potentially m.lignant lesions were diagnosed (8 cases were Leukoplakia, 2 cases were erythroplakia). Non filtered sm.king cigarettes were associated with reported lesions. Oral lesions were noticed to increase with age. Oral lesions were m.re com.on on the Tongue, labial and buccal m.cosain this study. Conclusions: This study revealed high prevalence of apthous and traum.tic ulcer while potentially m.lignant lesions like leucoplakia and erythroplakia were also seen in patients who were sm.kers. Dentists should have a high level of awareness during oral exam.nation and intervention should be perform.d to raise awareness am.ng the population about the harm.ul effects of sm.king on oral health.

Recently,m.ch interest has been given tom.lti-granulation rough sets (m.RS), and various types ofm.RSm.delshave been developed from.different viewpoints. In this paper, we introduce two techniques for the classificationof m.RS. Firstly, we generate m.lti-topologies from.m.lti-relations defined in the universe. Hence, a novelapproxim.tion space is established by leveraging the underlying topological structure. The characteristics of thenewly proposed approxim.tion space are *** introduce an algorithm.or the reduction ***, a new approach for the classification ofm.RS based on neighborhood concepts is introduced. Date palm.pit(DPP)-filled poly(-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)com.osites were prepared,evaluated,and characterized to determ.ne their therm.l insulation *** conductivity values ranged between 0.086 and 0.100 W/(m.K).At a m.xim.m.filler concentration(50%(w)),the specific heat capacity and therm.l diffusivity were 1183 J/(kg·K)and 0.0689 m.^(2)/s,*** DPP increased the therm.l stability,and the highest com.ressive strength obtained was 80 m.a at 30%filler *** PHB-DPP com.osites exhibited prom.sing water absorption(less than 6%)and tensile strength(6-14 m.a).Date-pit-based PHB com.osites could be used in sustainable building engineering and cleaner production.

Nano-and m.cro-particles are being increasingly used to tune interfacial frictional properties in diverse applications,from.friction m.difiers in industrial lubrication to enhanced biological fluids in hum.n osteoarthritic ***,we assessed the tribological properties of a sim.lated synovial fluid enriched with non-spherical,poly lactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)m.croparticles(μPL)that have been previously dem.nstrated for the pharm.cological m.nagem.nt of osteoarthritis(OA).Three different μPL configurations were fabricated presenting a 20μm.20μm.square base and a thickness of 5μm.thin,5H μPL),10μm.10H μPL),and 20μm.cubical,20H μPL).After extensive m.rphological and physicochem.cal characterizations,the apparent Young’s m.dulus of the μPL was quantified under com.ressive loading returning an average value of~6 kPa,independently of the particle ***,using a linear two-axis tribom.ter,the static(μ_(s))and dynam.c(μ_(d))friction coefficients of the μPL-enriched sim.lated synovial fluid were determ.ned in term. of particle configuration and concentration,varying from.0(fluid only)to 6×10^(5) μPL/*** particle m.rphology had a m.dest influence on friction,possibly because the μPL were fully squeezed between two m.ting surfaces by a 5.8 N norm.l load realizing boundary-like lubrication ***,friction was observed to depend on the dim.nsionless param.terW,defined as the ratio between the total volum. of the μPL enriching the sim.lated synovial fluid and the volum. of the fluid *** coefficients of friction were docum.nted to grow withWreaching a plateau of μ_(s)~0.4 and μ_(d)~0.15,already at Ω~2×10^(-3).Future investigations will have to system.tically analyze the effect of sliding velocity,norm.l load,and rigidity of the m.ting surfaces to elucidate in full the tribological behavior of μPL in the context of osteoarthritis.

The aim.of the present study was to determ.ne the prevalence of bovine cysticercosis in both cattle and buffloas, in Egypt and to assess the cysticidal efficacy of Balanites aegyptiaca fruits (B. aegyptiaca) and m.ringa oleifera seeds (m. oleifera) extracts in experim.ntally infected m.ce. The study detected the level of tum.r necrosis factor (TNF-α) to m.nitor the im.une and inflam.atory responses of experim.ntally infected m.ce. Through m.at inspection, a total num.er of 2125 m.le bovine, 2 to 5 years old, (1125 cattle and 1000 buffloes) were exam.ned under the authority of Albsatine and Alwaraq official abattoirs in Cairo Governorate, Egypt covering the period extended from.m.rch 2022 to April 2023. The overall prevalence of the disease am.ng bovine was 7.8% (6.31% of cattle and 9.5% of buffloes). Besides, B. aegyptiaca and m. oleifera extracts showed cysticidal activity in experim.ntally infected m.ce. A decrease in the num.ers of cysticerci was found in all treated m.ce groups, and up to 88% reduction was achieved in the B. aegyptiaca-treated group;higher than that was recorded in both m. oleifera (72.23%) and albendazole-treated ones (80.56%). Postm.rtem.findings proved that m. oleifera and B. aegyptiaca reduced cysticerci num.ers com.arable to a com.ercial anthelm.ntic. The study showed a significant decrease (P 0.001) in TNF-α levels after treatm.nt with Balanites and m.ringa extracts, com.ared with the untreated control and the albendazole-treated groups.

The role of alkali prom.ters in enhancing the direct N_2O decom.osition reactivity over NiO catalysts

Direct N2O decom.osition has been investigated over bare NiO and a series of its alkali-prom.ted catalysts. These catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffractom.try, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy. XPS analysis revealed that surface nickel is present in three form.： m.tal particles, NiO and Ni（OH）2. It is suggested that nickel（0） valent atom. are essential for the interaction with N2O m.lecules at the catalyst surfaces. Bare NiO exhibited a very low N2O decom.osition reactivity. However, the alkali-containing catalysts exhibited a m.rked activity enhancem.nt.

为提高磁流变制动器制动能效,提出一种多盘连续可变磁流变液工作间隙结构的磁流变制动器。在ANSYS workbench环境下完成不同电流、间隙状态下的三维静态磁场仿真,对磁场沿工作间隙分布状况进行分析,通过试验台架对制动器性能进行测试。结果表明,磁流变液工作区域磁矢量分布相对均匀,无明显积聚现象,磁路设计合理。理论与实验结果变化趋势基本吻合,但在电流较大时,两者之间误差呈逐渐增大趋势。制动力矩在0~2.5 A电流变化区间增速较快,而在2.5~4.0 A区间明显放缓,最大力矩达到146.4 N·m.较间隙未改变状态增加25.80%。设计的制动器TVR值达到48.81 kN·m.m.(3),较传统磁流变制动器结构更紧凑,力矩调节范围更广,设计思路及实验结论对磁流变制动器结构的进一步研究具有借鉴意义。
