Food Hygiene Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of the Food Handlers in the military Hospitals

Improper practices and lack of knowledge by food handlers are contributing factors for the spread of foodborne outbreaks. This study aimed to explore the knowledge, attitude and practice of food handlers in military hospitals in Jordan. A Self completed questionnaire was answered by 200 employees;150 military employees and 50 civilian employees in 7 Jordanian military hospitals selected randomly one from the capital Amman and two from the three provinces. The results showed that the means of the percentage scores for the knowledge, attitude, practice, were 84.82, 88.88, 89.43, respectively and the overall knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) mean percentage score was 87.88. A significant difference (P 0.05) in these values was observed between the military and civilian employee. The mean percentage scores for knowledge, attitude and practice were 88.5, 93.2, and 91.4, respectively for military employee compared to those for civilian employee of 73.7, 75.8, and 83.5, respectively. A significant difference for the overall (KAP) mean percentage score was also observed between gender, education and specific occupation of the food handler. Female KAP percentage mean score was 90.0 and that for males was 86.6;The college or university educations employee had a mean score of 91.6 while the elementary school education employee had a mean score of 79.7;The nutritionists and cooks had statistically similar means of 91.6 but these occupations significantly differ from the waiters 84.4 and cleaners 80.2.

In nuclear power plants, steam generators are important parts. This paper introduces a U-tube steam generator (UTSG) model implemented completely using mATLAB environment. The UTSG consists of four regions: upward and downward primary regions, upward and downward metal tube regions, and secondary regions, which contain heat transfer region, steam separation region, and subcooled water region. Governing equations are derived by applying energy and mass conservation equations in all regions. Accurate functions that describe the relationships between thermodynamic properties of the saturated steam are introduced instead of interpolation method that is widely used. Steady state and one transient case are presented as well.

Special bilinear functions (SBF) proved to be applicable in many situations and for a good number of problems. Hence it is important to generalize them to a higher degree by expanding previous work. In the beginning, we give a quick review of SBF [or quacroms of second degree and dimension 2 x m>nm>];then we give a few applications based on previously published research concentrating on their use in evaluating some special functions and where we present the evaluation of Chebyshev polynomials as a new work. Following that, we define special trilinear functions (STF) of three m>nm>-tuples vectors, which are the generalization of SBF. Finally, a few applications, such as taking the product of three polynomials of degree m>nm>, are given stressing the fact that the process of taking the product of three integers using STF techniques, practically, takes place in a very efficient way and with no mentioned effort. A short discussion on the future of the subject constitutes the conclusion of our article.

The importance of perturbation theory in many fields is very clear through almost a century or even more. Its importance was exemplified in solving many problems in physics and other applied fields. A great deal of applications arose in dealing with eigenvalue problems especially in quantum mechanics in conjunction with the field of atomic physics. Accordingly, it came to our mind to write a brief review article on the subject. At the beginning, we give some important definitions to do with various eigenvalue problems;then we introduce concepts that have to do with perturbation theory and the techniques used in such a theory, beginning with the algebraic perturbation theory giving a good number of examples from the literature on the use of the theory in solving integral equation, algebraic equations and differential equations. Few applications are then given in applied fields such as classical mechanics, quantum mechanics and fluid mechanics. Finally, a concluding discussion is given which is related to the use of the theory.

Seed priming has proved to be an effective pre-germination seed invigoration technique for different crops to improve seed and seedling performance under different abiotic *** Bangladesh,winter rice is very often exposed to cold waves just after sowing in the nursery bed resulting in poor seed germination and seedling emergence,yellowish and thin seedlings production,and a very low survival *** priming may mitigate the cold stress during seed germination and seedling emergence and helps in the quality seedling production of winter *** evaluate the efficacy of different seed priming techniques in increasing seedling emergence,growth,vigor and survivability of winter rice cultivars under cold stress,a pot experiment was conducted at the Department of Agronomy,Bangladesh Agricultural University during December 2018 to January *** experiment comprised two factors,(A)Winter rice variety namely,(i)BRRI dhan29 and (ii)BRRI dhan36;(B)Seed priming agent namely (i)Control(no priming),(ii)20000 ppm NaCl,(iii)30000 ppm NaCl,(iv)20000 ppm KCl,(v)30000 ppm KCl,(vi)20000 ppm CaCl2,(vii)30000 ppm CaCl2,(viii)50 ppm CuSO4,(ix)75 ppm CuSO_(4),(x)10000 ppm ZnSO4,(xi)15000 ppm ZnSO4,(xii)2 ppm Na2moO4,(xiii)3 ppm Na2moO4,(xiv)100 ppm PEG(Polyethylene glycol 4000)and (xv)150 ppm *** were sown on two different dates viz.,1st December and 1st January so that seedlings are exposed to cold stress at different *** experiment was laid out in a completely randomized design(CRD)with three *** indicated that(in most of the cases)seed priming has a positive impact on seedling emergence rate(%),root length,shoot length,root shoot ratio,root dry weight,shoot dry weight,seedling dry weight and survival rate(%).Among the priming agents,KCl and CaCl2 performed best;while priming with NaCl and PEG showed no advantages over no priming for both the sowing *** general,BRRI dhan36 performed better than BRRI dhan29 in terms of seedling growth because

OBJECTIVE:Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV)infection is still global health issue,and lack of vaccine furthers the devastating *** treatment regimen is challenged by the development of resistance,thus increase the mutation and dissemination of resistance genes across the *** work aims to assess the nature of HIV-1 subtypes and mutations from HIV-1 positive patients who are ***:The analysis of 103 new positive cases of HIV-1 involved in the ***-resistant mutations,HIV-1 subtypes and circulating recombinant forms(CRFs)were assessed as per World Health Organization(2009)list of monitoring drugresistant ***:The results revealed that subtype B was dominant 58(56.3%),compared to non-subtype B 34(33%)and CRF 11(10.7%).The occurrence of HIV-1 drug resistance for Nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NRTIs),Non-nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NNRTIs),and Protease inhibitors(PIs)were 7.8%(8/103),22.3%(23/103)and 1%(1/103)respectively and the patients had the following primary antiretroviral drug resistance mutations to NRTI,3A62V(2.9%),2 m41L(1.9%),1 F77L(1%),1 K70KR(1%),and 1 T215S(1%).In the NNRTI,13 E138A(12.6%),3 E138G(2.9%),3 K103N(2.9%),2V179D(1.9),1 K103KN(1%)and 1K103T(1%)mutations were *** in the PI drug,1 L24LI(1%)drug resistance mutations were ***:Primary drug-resistant mutations in antiretroviral therapy(ART)naive subjects were found and the information in turn will contribute to the global data collection and treatment plan of HIV-1 patients.

Objective:To investigate the pharmacological potential of Argemone mexicana in treating constipation and emesis by using in vitro and in vivo ***:The spasmogenic and spasmolytic effects were evaluated on isolated rabbit jejunum fragments loaded in a tissue organ *** response was recorded with an isotonic transducer attached with Power Lab Data Acquisition *** laxative and antiemetic activities were assessed in BALB-c mice and poultry chicks challenged with carbamylcholine and copper sulphate stimulated emesis,***:The total phenolic and total flavonoids contents of the extract were(267.75±5.77)mg GAE/g and(73.86±6.01)mg QE/g,*** mexicana extract exerted spasmogenic effect on isolated rabbit jejunum segments with an EC_(50)value of 0.016 mg/m L,which was blocked by atropine(0.3μm).Argemone mexicana extract exerted spasmolytic effect in atropine treated jejunum fragments with an EC_(50)value of 2.185 mg/***,Argemone mexicana extract relaxed potassium(80 mm)-induced contractions(EC_(50):9.07 mg/mL),similar to a standard drug *** calcium channel blocker activity was confirmed by a rightward shift of concentration-response curve of calcium in the presence of Argemone mexicana extract(1-5 mg/mL)and verapamil(0.1-1μm).In addition,the extract increased the distance travelled by a charcoal in the gastrointestinal tract and exhibited antiemetic effect on copper sulphate induced emesis in ***:Argemone mexicana shows cholinergic agonist and calcium channel blocker activities,as well as antiemetic *** may be used as a potential agent for treating gastrointestinal disorders.

二氧化碳(CO_(2))捕集是实现我国碳中和目标的重要手段。电化学介导胺再生(EmAR)CO_(2)捕集系统是一种极具应用前景的碳捕集技术。为了进一步研究EmAR的电化学性能,利用H型电解池,对以乙醇胺(mEA)溶液为吸收剂,铜离子为金属配体的体系开展电化学行为研究。结果表明:阴极和阳极反应均是分步进行的,且均由扩散和电荷传递共同控制,阴极过程更缓慢,是系统的控制步骤。同时,增大阴阳极之间配合物浓度差,在较低阳极配合物浓度和较高阴极配合物浓度的情况下,更有利于系统反应的进行。研究结果有望为EmAR CO_(2)捕集技术的放大研究和实际应用提供一定的理论支撑。
