Objective:To isolate and characterize RNA aptamers that are specific to human CD36 protein using systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment(SELEX)technology to identify candidates for adjunct therapy to reverse the binding of Plasmodiuminfected ***:RNA aptamers were isolated using nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX and binding analysis was screened using an electrophoretic mobility shift assay and enzyme-linked oligonucleotide ***:Thirteen cycles of nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX yielded three aptamers(RC60,RC25,RC04)exhibiting high binding against CD36 protein as shown on electrophoretic mobility shift *** sequence analysis revealed a G-quadruplex sequence within all the isolated aptamers that might contribute to aptamer binding and thermodynamic *** specificity assay further showed that RC60 and RC25 were highly specific to *** competitive inhibition assay demonstrated that RC60 and RC25 shared a similar binding epitope recognized by m Ab FA6-152,a specific monoclonal antibody against ***:RC60 and RC25 are promising candidates as anticytoadherence for severe malaria adjunct therapy.

The synoptic circulation over Saudi Arabia is complicated and frequently governed by the effect of large-scale pressure systems. In this work, we used NCEP–NCAR global data to illustrate the relationship between climatic variables and the main pressure systems that affect the weather and climate of Saudi Arabia, and also to investigate the influence of these pressure systems on surface air temperature（sat. and rainfall over the region in the winter season. It was found that there are two primary patterns of pressure that influence the weather and climate of Saudi Arabia. The first occurs in cases of a strengthening Subtropical High（Sub H）, a weakening Siberian High（Sib H）, a deepening of the Icelandic Low（Ice L）, or a weakening of the Sudanese Low（Sud L）. During this pattern, the Sub H combines with the Sib H and an obvious increase of sea level pressure（SLP） occurs over southern European, the mediterranean, North Africa, and the middle East. This belt of high pressure prevents interaction between midlatitude and extratropical systems, which leads to a decrease in the sat.relative humidity（RH） and rainfall over Saudi Arabia. The second pattern occurs in association with a weakening of the Sub H, a strengthening of the Sib H, a weakening of the Ice L, or a deepening of the Sud L. The pattern arising in this case leads to an interaction between two different air masses： the first（cold moist） air mass is associated with the mediterranean depression travelling from west to east, while the second（warm moist） air mass is associated with the northward oscillation of the Sud L and its inverted V-shape trough. The interaction between these two air masses increases the sat. RH and the probability of rainfall over Saudi Arabia, especially over the northwest and northeast regions.

This work presents the first electrical and optical measurements of the initial phase of hydrogen discharge in the upgraded spherical tokamak GLAST-III, initiated with electron cyclotron heating（ECH）. Diagnostic measurements provide insights into expected and unexpected physics issues related to the initial phase of discharge. A triple Langmuir probe（TLP） has been developed to measure time series of the floating potential, plasma electron temperature and number density over the entire discharge, allowing monitoring of the two phases of the discharge： the ECH pre-ionization phase following by the plasma current formation phase. A TLP has the ability to give time-resolved measurements of the floating potential（V_（float））, electron temperature（T_e） and ion sat.ration current（I_（sat.∝n_e√kT_e）.sat.e eThe evolution of the ECH-assisted pre-ionization and subsequent plasma current phases in one shot are well envisioned by the probe. Intense fluctuations in the plasma current phase advocate for efficient equilibrium and feedback control systems. moreover, the emergence of some strong impurity lines in the emission spectrum, even after only a few shots, suggests a crucial need for improvements in the base vacuum level. A noticeable change in the shape of the temporal profiles of the floating potential, electron temperature, ion sat.ration current（I_（sat.） and light emission has been observed with changing hydrogen fill pressure and vertical magnetic field.

The global population during the last 100 years has increased from 2 to 7.7 billion,causing an increase in greenhouse gases in the *** order to see how population increase is directly related to physical variables of the climate,this Perspective article places observations and scenarios of climate change into context and puts forth a statistical modeling study on how the sensitive Arctic climate responds to the increasing *** relationships between population,Arctic sea-ice extent(SIE),and surface air temperature(sat.are very strong,with the increasing population explaining 96%of the decreasing SIE and about 80%of the increasing sat.in the *** projection for the SIE using the population as a“proxy predictor”for a projected population of 10 billion people on the Earth in 2100,yields a SIE of 9.30 and 8.21 million km 2 for a linear and squared relationship,respectively,indicating no“tipping point”for the annual ice extent in this *** adds another dimension to climate understanding for the public at large using population as a proxy variable,instead of the more abstract CO_(2)*** also indicates that it is important to attempt to limit the ongoing increase in population,which is the main cause of the greenhouse gas emissions,in addition to reducing per capita emissions by an exponential increase in implementing renewable energy,a formidable challenge in this century.

Background: Using ultrasound to measure optic nerve sheath diameter(ONSD) is an emerging bedside technique to noninvasively assess intracranial pressure(ICP) in patients with brain injury. This technique is unique among bedside ultrasonography and is often performed by providers who have no formal ultrasound training. We sought to create a low-cost, 3 D, reusable ONSD model to train neurology, neurosurgery, and critical care providers in measuring ***: We identified 253 articles, of which 15 were associated with models and 2 with simulation. One gelatin model was reported, upon which we based our initial design. We could not validate the visual findings of this model;however, after constructing multiple beta models, the design most representative of human eye anatomy was a globe made of ballistics gel and either a 3 mm, 5 mm, or 7 mm×50 mm 3 D-printed optic nerve inserted into a platform composed of ballistics gel, all of which sat.inside a 3 D-printed skull. This model was used to teach ONSD measurements with ultrasound at a continuing medical education event prior to training on a live human ***: A simple 3 D ballistic ONSD model allows learners to practice proper hand placement and pressure, basic landmarks, and ONSD measurement prior to operating on a human eye. This model is replicable and sustainable given that the globe and platform are composed of ballistics gel.

Objective:To highlight the spectrum of clinical manifestations,labs,complications,treatment and outcome of ***:Retrospective study was conducted in Kasturba medical College,manipal University,Karnataka,India which included 68 confirmed cases of brucellosis from January 2006- April *** of brucellosis was made by culturing the sera/body fluids by standard BACTEC method(or) by testing the sera for Brucella agglutinins using the standard agglutination test(sat..A titer of 1:320 or more was considered as *** 16 was used for statistical analysis and microsoft Excel for graphical ***:Of the 68 patients,46(68%) were male and 22(32%) were female patients with age distribution of 9-75 *** four(64.7%) had history of contact with unpasteurized dairy products or infected *** included fever(68,100%),myalgia(21,31%),musculoskeletal symptoms (23,34%),headache(16,24%),gastrointestinal symptoms(19,28%) and altered sensorium(3, 4%).Co-morbidities and associations included HIV positivity(2,3%),type 2 diabetes mellitus (13,19%),steroid therapy(3,4%) and HBsAg positivity(8,12%).Ten(15%) patients had cervical lymphadenopathy,4(6%) had splenic enlargement,6(7%) had hepatomegaly,19(28%) had hepatosplenomegaly and 2(3%) got meningeal *** was observed in 39(57.3%) cases,high erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) was present in 55(80.8%) cases,leucocytosis in 10(14.7%),leucopenia in 10(14.7%),thrombocytopenia in 23(33.82%) and thrombocytosis in 2(2.94%) ***:In countries like India,where brucellosis and tuberculosis are endemic;rapid,sensitive and highly specific diagnostic methods are required to make early diagnosis and prevent resistance as there is an overlap in therapy.

AIm:To determine global DNA methylation in paired hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) samples using several different assays and explore the correlations between hypomethylation and clinical parameters and biomarkers,including that of aflatoxin B 1 ***:Using the radio labeled methyl acceptance assay as a measure of global hypomethylation,as well as two repetitive elements,including sat.llite 2(sat.) by methyLight and long interspersed nucleotide elements(LINE1),by ***:By all three assays,mean methylation levels in tumor tissues were significantly lower than that in adjacent *** acceptance assay log(mean ± SD) disintegrations/min/ng DNA are 70.0 ± 54.8 and 32.4 ± 15.6,respectively,P = 0.040;percent methylation of sat. 42.2 ± 55.1 and 117.9 ± 88.8,respectively,P methylation LINE1 48.6 ± 14.8 and 71.7 ± 1.4,respectively,P min(AFB 1-Alb) adducts,a measure of exposure to this dietary carcinogen,were inversely correlated with LINE1 methylation(r =-0.36,P = 0.034).CONCLUSION:Consistent hypomethylation in tumor compared to adjacent tissue was found by the three different *** 1 exposure is associated with DNA global hypomethylation,suggesting that chemical carcinogens may influence epigenetic changes in humans.
