For alleviating dry mouth symptoms,edible films based on hyaluronic acid(HA)with 3 different m(800,1200 and 2300 kDa)were prepared(800 F,1200 F and 2300 F,respectively),and the properties as well as effectiveness were *** concentration of each HA dispersion for film forming was set as 3.0%,1.5%or 1.0%,for the m800,1200 and 2300 kDa,respectively,based on the *** 800 F showed the highest thickness,tensile strength,and water vapor transparency,whereas obtained the lowest transparency and elongation at break among *** of the HA films showed safety against microorganism during 28 storage day at 40℃with 60%*** optimum site for film attachment in mouth was the palate,and800 F was the most effective for stimulating saliva secretion,eliciting a 38%increase compared to control(without film),tested by the elderly over 65 years *** the sensory test,800 F was also the most *** on above results,the edible films effectively stimulating saliva secretion could be produced with HA,and the physical,sensory characteristics as well as disintegration times of the film could be controlled by mand the dissolution concentration of HA.

A photosensitive chaotic oscillator which can be controlled with light illumination under various control voltage levels is *** oscillator consists of a photodiode for the light input,clock switches and capacitors for the sample and hold function,a nonlinear function that creates an adjustable chaos map,and a voltage shifter that adjusts the output voltage for *** optimizing the photodiode sub-circuit by using an available photodiode model in PC-based simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis to obtain a suitable output,the full chaotic circuit is verified with standard 0.6-μm complementary metal oxide semiconductor *** dynamics are analyzed as a function of the light intensity under different control voltage *** time series,frequency spectra,transitions in state spaces,bifurcation diagrams and the largest Lyapunov exponent are improved.

Pb contamination in aquatic environments causes severe pollution;therefore,harmless absorbents are *** this study,we report a novel synthesis of whitlockite(WH,Ca_(18)mg_(2)(HPO_(4))_(2)(PO_(4))_(12)),which is the second most abundant biomineral in human bone,and its application as a high-performing Pb^(2+)***(HAP)and WH are prepared via a simple precipitation *** Pb2+absorption performance and mechanism of the synthesized biominerals are investigated in aqueous solutions at neutral *** results demonstrate that WH exhibits an excellent Pb2+absorption capacity of 2339 mg g^(−1),which is 1.68 times higher than the recorded value for ***,the absorbed Pb^(2+) ions are recycled into high-purity PbI_(2).This is employed as a precursor for the fabrication of perovskite solar cells(PSCs),resulting in a conversion efficiency of 19.00%comparable to that of commercial PbI2 powder(99.99%purity).Our approach provides an efficient way to remove Pb^(2+)ions from water and reuse them in the recycling of PSCs.

Li7P3S11solid electrolytes with high lithium-ion conductivity are promising candidates for use in all-solidstate lithium ***,this electrolyte’s poor interfacial compatibility with lithium electrodes causes unstable *** this study,in order to address this problem,(100-x)Li7P3S11-xLi2OHBr(x=0,2,5,10,20,30,40,and 50)electrolytes are prepared by a high energy ball-milling technique and heat-treatment *** resulting(100-x)Li7P3S11-xLi2OHBr(x=2,5,10,20,30,40,and 50)electrolytes provide improved electrochemical performance with good cycling stability and a wide electrochemical window of up to 10 V(***/Li+).moreover,these electrolytes have high ionic conductivity of 10-4–10-5S/cm at room ***,the 90Li7P3S11-10Li2OHBr electrolyte displays the highest conductivity of 4.4×10-4S/cm at room temperature as well as improved ***,90Li7P3S11-10Li2OHBr shows decreased interfacial resistance between the solid electrolyte and cathode electrode,which was revealed by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS)*** initial discharge capacity of 90Li7P3S11-10Li2OHBr was found to be 135 m Ah/g when used in a In|solid electrolyte|Li(Ni0.6Co0.2mn0.2)O2 all-solid-state lithium battery(ASSLB).Thus,we can conclude the addition of Li2OHBr into the Li7P3S11results in enhanced electrochemical properties.

The commercialization of Zn batteries is confronted with urgent challenges in the metal anode,such as dendrite formation,capacity loss,and cracking or ***,surface interfacial engineering of the Zn anode is introduced for achieving safety and dendritic-free cycling for high-performance aqueous Zn batteries through a simple but highly effective chemical etching-substitution *** chemical modification induces a rough peak-valley surface with a thin fluorine-rich interfacial layer on the Zn anode surface,which regulates the growth orientation via guiding uniform Zn plating/stripping,significantly enhances accessibility to aqueous electrolytes and improves wettability by reducing surface *** a result,such a synergetic surface effect enables uniform Zn plating/stripping with low polarization of 29 m V at a current density of 0.5 m A cm^(-2) with stable cyclic performance up to 1000 ***,a full cell composed of a fluorine-substituted Zn anode coupled with aβ-mnO_(2)or Ba-V_(6)O_(13)cathode demonstrates improved capacity retention to 1000 cycles compared to the pristine-Zn *** proposed valley deposition model provides the practical direction of surface-modified interfacial chemistries for improving the electrochemical properties of multivalent metal anodes via surface tuning.

Identifying migrant remains in South Texas:policy and practice

In 2012, Texas surpassed Arizona in migrant deaths. The majority of deaths occurred in the Rio Grande Valley, specifically in Brooks County, Texas. Brooks County is one of the poorest in the state and was overwhelmed with deaths, without appropriate resources to follow the state laws pertaining to the investigation of unidentified human remains. Until 2013, most remains that were not immediately identified were buried without collecting DNA samples and the location of burials was not recorded. Our paper outlines the difficulties searching for these burials, the struggles of the families of the missing, and the collaborative approaches to facilitating identifications in South Texas. Community outreach combined with geophysical surveys guide which cemeteries are in need of exhumations. Once ceme-teries are surveyed, archaeological methods are employed to exhume remains and docu-ment burials. Remains are taken to the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State for processing, analysis, and identification efforts. Undergraduate and graduate students clean remains and wash clothing and personal *** skeletal analysis, all information regarding the remains, including photographs of per-sonal effects, are uploaded to the National missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) and a DNA sample is submitted to the University of North Texas for inclusion in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) DNA database. However, CODIS lacks DNA family reference samples from many families of the missing due to families living outside the US or because they do not feel comfortable providing a DNA sample in the presence of law enforcement. Therefore, it is necessary to work with non-governmental organizations who specialize in collecting missing persons reports and DNA samples from the families of the missing. Working collaboratively with multiple agencies, identification of migrant remains is possible.

Developing efficient separation materials for recovering metal resources from aqueous environments is crucial for the sustainable water–food–energy nexus,which addresses the interdependence between energy production,water production,and energy *** material-based separation processes have demonstrated outstanding ***,electric energy and chemicals are used to frequently replace the separation materials used in such processes owing to their short life *** study presents a methodology for designing the self-regenerable fiber(SRF)according to the types of metals through a self-regeneration *** SRF can semi-permanently recover the metal resources from water through a repetitive adsorption–crystallization–detachment process of metal ions on its *** ionic metal resources are adsorbed and crystallized with the counter-anions on the SRF ***,the metal crystals are self-detached from the SRF surface by the collision between the crystals and curvature and non-sticky surface of the ***,a module containing the SRF maintains its metal recovery capability even during continuous injection of the metal solution without its *** findings highlight the significance of interfacial engineering and further guide the rational design of energy/environmentally friendly resource recovery modules.

A feature extraction and fusion algorithm was constructed by combining principal component analysis(PCA) and linear discriminant analysis(LDA) to detect a fault state of the induction *** yielding a feature vector with PCA and LDA from current signal that was measured by an experiment,the reference data were used to produce matching *** a diagnostic step,two matching values that were obtained by PCA and LDA,respectively,were combined by probability model,and a faulted signal was finally *** the proposed diagnosis algorithm brings only merits of PCA and LDA into relief,it shows excellent performance under the noisy *** simulation was executed under various noisy conditions in order to demonstrate the suitability of the proposed algorithm and showed more excellent performance than the case just using conventional PCA or LDA.

Gastric cancer is generally diagnosed at an advanced stage,especially in countries without screening ***,the metastatic stage was synonymous with palliative management,and surgical indications were only for symptomatic ***,this therapeutic option is associated with poor prognosis.A subgroup of patients with limited metastatic disease could benefit from intensive treatment.A combination of chemotherapy,immunotherapy,and targeted therapy could help either maintain a resectable state for oligometastatic disease or diminish the metastasis size to obtain a complete resection *** latter strategy is known as conversion therapy and has growing evidence with favorable *** approach of metastatic disease could prolong survival in selected *** challenge for the surgeon and oncologist is to identify these specific patients to offer the best multimodal *** review in this article the actual evidence for the treatment of oligometastatic gastric cancer with curative intent.
