Characterizing downwind drift deposition of aerially applied glyphosate using RbCl as tracer

Rubidium chloride(RbCl)was used as a tracer tank-mixed with active ingredients to profile downwind deposition of aerially applied crop protection and production materials to characterize off-target drift,which helps improve spray efficiency and reduce environmental *** sheets were placed on a holder in the field at each sampling station to collect sprayed *** tracer was used to assess downwind drift of nozzles mounted on the booms installed and controlled on both sides of an agricultural *** experiment was conducted on a field covered by Bermuda grass(Cynodon dactylon).During the experiment,the airplane was planned to fly three passes with three replications at each of three different altitudes,3.7 m,4.9 m,and 6.1 m for total of 27 flight *** results indicated that sampling station location had a significant effect on RbCl ***,application release altitude was not significant to the change of *** practical application in the same aerial application system was used to assess crop injury from the off-target drift of aerially applied *** concentrations measured from mylar sheets were correlated with visual injury,plant height,shoot dry weight,leaf chlorophyll content,and shikimate,which were measured from the leaves and plant samples ***,RbCl is an effective tracer for monitoring spray applications from agricultural aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to intensify agriculture output and minimize environmental impact.

Sodium-ion batteries(nIBs)are a front-runner among the alternative battery technologies suggested for substituting the state-ofthe-art lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The specific energy of na-ion batteries is significantly lower than that of LIBs,which is mainly due to the lower operating potentials and higher molecular weight of sodium insertion cathode *** compete with the high energy density of LIBs,high voltage cathode materials are required for *** we report a theoretical investigation on weberitetype sodium metal fluorides(SmFs),a new class of high voltage and high energy density materials which are so far unexplored as cathode materials for *** weberite structure type is highly favorable for sodium-containing transition metal fluorides,with a large variety of transition metal combinations(m,m’)adopting the corresponding na_(2)mm’F_(7) structure.A series of known and hypothetical compounds with weberite-type structure were computationally investigated to evaluate their potential as cathode materials for ***-type SmFs show two-dimensional pathways for na^(+)diffusion with surprisingly low activation *** high energy density combined with low diffusion barriers for na+makes this type of compounds promising candidates for cathode materials in nIBs.

Identifying cryptic species poses a substantial challenge to both biologists and naturalists due to morphological *** tabaci is a cryptic species complex containing more than 44 putative species;several of which are currently among the world's most destructive crop *** and delimiting the evolution of this species complex has proved *** develop a comprehensive framework for species delimitation and identification,we evaluated the performance of distinct data sources both individually and in combination among numerous samples of the *** species complex acquired *** datasets include full mitogenomes,single-copy nuclear genes,restriction site-associated DnA sequencing,geographic range,host speciation,and reproductive compatibility ***,our well-supported topologies generated from three dense molecular markers highlighted the evolutionary divergence of species of the *** complex and suggested that the nuclear markers serve as a more accurate representation of *** species *** compatibility datasets facilitated the identification of at least 17 different cryptic species within our *** geographic range information provides a complementary assessment of species recognition,while the host range datasets provide low rate of delimiting *** further summarized different data performances in species classification when compared with reproductive compatibility,indicating that combination of mtCOI divergence,nuclear markers,geographic range provide a complementary assessment of species ***,we represent a model for understanding and untangling the cryptic species complexes based on the evidence from this study and previously published articles.

Experimental Study of Forced Convective Heat Transfer in a Copper Tube Using Three Types of nanofluids

The use of nanofluids as heat transfer media represents an innovative strategy to enhance heat transfer *** study investigates experimentally the turbulent convective heat transfer characteristics of waterbased nanofluids containing TiO_(2),CuO,and graphene nanoplatelet(gnP)nanoparticles as they flow through a copper *** the dynamic viscosity and thermal conductivity of these nanofluids were modeled and experimentally measured across varying nanoparticle concentrations(0.01,0.02,and 0.03 vol.%)and temperatures(25℃,35℃,and 45℃).The findings indicate that the behavior of nanofluids depends on the parameter used for comparison with the base ***,both the friction factor and heat transfer coefficient increase with higher nanoparticle volume concentrations at a constant Reynolds *** results further reveal that the gnP/water nanofluid,with a volume concentration of 0.03%at 45℃,exhibit the highest nusselt number,followed by the CuO/water and TiO_(2)/water nanofluids,with respective increases of 17.8%,11.09%,and 8.11%.

Pragmatic multi-stage simulated annealing for optimal placement of synchrophasor measurement units in smart power grids

Conventional power grids across the globe are reforming to smart power grids with cutting edge technologies in real time monitoring and control methods. Advanced real time monitoring is facilitated by incorpor- ating synchrophasor measurement units such as phasor measurement units （PmUs） to the power grid monitoring system. Several physical and economic constraints limit the deployment of PmUs in smart power grids. This paper proposes a pragmatic multi-stage simulated annealing （PmSSA） methodology for finding the optimal locations in the smart power grid for installing PmUs in conjunction with existing conventional measurement units （CmUs） to achieve a complete observability of the grid. The proposed PmSSA is much faster than the conventional simulated annealing （SA） approach as it utilizes controlled uphill and downhill movements during various stages of optimiza- tion. moreover, the method of integrating practical phasor measurement unit （PmU） placement conditions like PmU channel limits and redundant placement can be easily handled. The efficacy of the proposed methodology has been validated through simulation studies in IEEE standard bus systems and practical regional Indian power grids.

Characterization and Effect of Using mahua Oil Biodiesel as Fuel in Compression Ignition Engine

There is an increasing interest in India, to search for suitable alternative fuels that are environment friendly. Thisled to the choice of mahua Oil (mO) as one of the main alternative fuels to diesel. In this investigation, mahuaOil Biodiesel (mOB) and its blend with diesel were used as fuel in a single cylinder, direct injection and compressionignition engine. The mOB was prepared from mO by transesterification using methanol and potassiumhydroxide. The fuel properties of mOB are close to the diesel and confirm to the ASTm standards. From the enginetest analysis, it was observed that the mOB, B5 and B20 blend results in lower CO, HC and smoke emissionsas compared to diesel. But the B5 and B20 blends results in higher efficiency as compared to mOB. HencemOB or blends of mOB and diesel (B5 or B20) can be used as a substitute for diesel in diesel engines used intransportation as well as in the agriculture sector.

Laser diodes are widely used and play a crucial role in myriad modern applications including nonlinear optics and ***,we explore the four-wave mixing effect in a laser diode gain medium induced by the feedback from the high-Q microring *** phenomenon can be observed at a laser frequency scan close to the microresonator eigenfrequency,prior to the transition of the laser diode from a free-running to a self-injection locking *** effect opens up the possibility for generation of remarkably low-noise,stable,and adjustable microwave *** provide a detailed numerical study of this phenomenon proven with experimental results and demonstrate the generation of the signals in the GHz *** obtained results reveal the stability of such regime and disclose the parameter ranges enabling to achieve ***,our findings uncover,to our knowledge,a novel laser diode operation regime and pave the way for the creation of new types of chip-scale,low-noise microwave sources,which are highly demanded for diverse applications,including telecommunication,metrology,and sensing.

This article deals with boundary layer analysis of magnetohydrodynamics on an unsteady chemically reactive micropolar rotating fluid flow past a semi-infinite vertical plate with been developed under Boussinesq *** governing partial differential equations are transformed into a set of coupled partial differential equations using suitable dimensionless *** resultant equations are solved numerically using variational finite element method.A parametric study illustrating the influence of different pertinent parameters is performed and the numerical results for translational velocity,microrotation velocity,temperature and concentration distributions near the boundary layers are discussed and presented graphically for the parametric ***,the skin-friction,wall couple stress,surface heat transfer and mass transfer rate dependency on the emerging thermo-physical parameters are also *** finite element code is benchmarked with the results reported in the literature to check the validity and accuracy under some limiting cases and excellent agreement with published solutions is achieved.
