Extracting the three-dimensional (3D) information including location and height of a pedestrian is important for vision-based intelligent traffic monitoring systems. This paper tackles the relationship between pixels′ actual size and pixels′ spatial resolution through a new method named pixel-resolution mapping (P-Rm). The proposed P-Rm method derives the equations for pixels′ spatial resolutions (XY-direction) and object′s height (Z-direction) in the real world, while introducing new tilt angle and mounting height calibration methods that do not require special calibration patterns placed in the real world. Both controlled laboratory and actual world experiments were performed and reported. The tests on 3D mensuration using proposed P-Rm method showed overall better than 98.7% accuracy in laboratory environments and better than 96% accuracy in real world pedestrian height estimations. The 3D reconstructed images for measured points were also determined with the proposed P-Rm method which shows that the proposed method provides a general algorithm for 3D information extraction.

A novel catalytic kinetic method is proposed for the determination of Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in water based on the catalytic effect of Se（Ⅳ） on the reduction of Celestine blue by sodium sulfide at pH 7.0 phosphate buffer. The fixed-time method was adopted for the determination and speciation of inorganic selenium. Under the optimum conditions, the two calibration graphs are linear with a good correlation coefficient in the range 2-20 and 20-200 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） for the fixed-time method at 30℃. The experimental and theo- retical detection limits of the developed kinetic method were found to be 0.21 and 2.50 μg·L-1 for the fixed-time method （3 min）. All of the variables that affect the sensitivity at 645 nm were investigated, and the optimum conditions were established. The interference effect of various cations and anions on the Se（Ⅳ） determination was also studied. The selectivity of the selenium determination was greatly improved with the use of the strongly cation exchange resin such as Amberlite IR120 plus as long as chelating agents of thiourea and thiosulphate. The proposed kinetic method was validated statistically and through recovery studies in natural water samples. The relative standard deviations （RSDs） for ten replicate measurements of 2, 10, and 20 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） change between 0.35% and 5.58%, while the RSDs for ten replicate measurements of 3, 6, and 12 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅵ） change between 0.49% and 1.61%. Analyses of a certified standard reference material （NIST SRm 1643e） for selenium using the fixed-time method showed that the proposed kinetic method has good accuracy. The Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in lake and river water samples have been successfully determined by this method after selective reduction of Se（Ⅵ） to Se（Ⅳ）.

Hardaliye is a non-alcoholic beverage produced from red/black grapes by adding mustard seeds and lactic acid *** this study,it was aimed to determine the total phenolic content(TPC)and total antioxidant capacity(TAC)of hardaliye samples produced with three different grape varieties(Shiraz,merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon)before and after in vitro digestion,to determine their bioaccessibility,and to investigate their effects on reducing malondialdehyde(mDA)formation in meat *** decreased after in vitro digestion in all three hardaliye samples and their bioaccessibility values were 57.64%,41.54%,and 52.78%(for Shiraz,merlot,and Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye,respectively).After in vitro digestion TAC value according to the DPPH method increased in all samples and according to the CUPRAC method decreased in merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye samples,while it increased in the Shiraz *** in vitro digestion,mDA value increased in control meat samples and decreased in the samples treated with hardaliye *** treatment with other beverages was effective in reducing the post-digestion mDA value of some meat samples,the hardaliye samples were more effective in reducing this value and the lowest mDA bioaccessibility(%)values were determined in those treated with hardaliye *** samples with the lowest values were meat doner 1 treated with Shiraz hardaliye(10.27%);burger patties 2 treated with Shiraz hardaliye(22.40%);and meatball 2 treated with Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye(7.12%).These findings indicate that hardaliye has potential beneficial health effects and can be used for the design of healthy eating patterns due to its lipid oxidation reducing potential in the gastrointestinal tract.

Image quality in positron emission tomography(PET)is affected by random and scattered coincidences and reconstruction *** this study,we investigated the effects of scattered and random coincidences from outside the field of view(FOV)on PET image quality for different reconstruction *** was performed on the Discovery 690 PET/CT scanner,using experimental configurations including the NEmA phantom(a body phantom,with six spheres of different sizes)with a signal background ratio of 4:*** NEmA phantom(phantom I)was scanned separately in a one-bed *** simulate the effect of random and scatter coincidences from outside the FOV,six cylindrical phantoms with various diameters were added to the NEmA phantom(phantom II).The 18 emission datasets with mean intervals of 15 min were acquired(3 min/scan).The emission data were reconstructed using different *** image quality parameters were evaluated by both *** in the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in a 28-mm(10-mm)sphere of phantom II were 37.9%(86.5%)for ordered-subset expectation maximization(OSEm-only),36.8%(81.5%)for point spread function(PSF),32.7%(80.7%)for time of flight(TOF),and 31.5%(77.8%)for OSEm+PSF+TOF,respectively,indicating that OSEm+PSF+TOF reconstruction had the lowest noise levels and lowest coefficient of variation(COV)*** and scatter coincidences from outside the FOV induced lower SNR,lower contrast,and higher COV values,indicating image deterioration and significantly impacting smaller sphere *** reconstruction protocols,OSEm+PSF+TOF and OSEm+PSF showed higher contrast values for sphere sizes of 22,28,and 37 mm and higher contrast recovery coefficient values for smaller sphere sizes of 10 and 13 mm.

Trigeminal neuralgia is a syndrome due to dysfunctional hyperactivity of the trigeminal nerve, and is characterized by a sudden, usually unilateral, recurrent lancinating pain arising from one or more divisions of the nerve. The most accepted pathogenetic mechanism for trigeminal neuralgia is compression of the nerve at its dorsal root entry zone or in its distal course. In this paper, we report four cases with trigeminal neuralgia due to an unknown mechanism after an intracranial intervention The onset of trigeminal neuralgia after surgical interventions that are unrelated to the trigeminal nerve suggests that in patients with greater individual susceptibility, nerve contact with the vascular structure due to postoperative pressure and changes in cerebrospinal fluid flow may cause the onset of pain.
