influence of the turbulence intensity and turbulence length scale on the hydrodynamic characteristics and heat transfer of a circular cylinder, streamlined by a viscous fluid flow, is numerically studied. We take the Reynolds number of the oncoming flow equal to 4×10^4, the turbulence intensity Tuf and the dimensionless turbulence length scale L-f varying from 1.0% to 40% and from 0.25 to 4.0, respectively. We confirmed that the increase of Tuf leads to the suppression of the periodic vortex shedding from the cylinder surface, and as a result the stationary mode of streamlining is formed. Consequently, with the increasing turbulence intensity directly in front of the cylinder Tu＊, the amplitude of the lift coefficient decreases monotonically. Nevertheless, the time-averaged drag coefficient of the streamlined cylinder decreases at Tu＊〈6.0%, and increases at Tu＊〉9.0%. The dependence of the average Nusselt number on Tu＊ is near-linear, and with the increasing turbulence intensity, the Nusselt number rises. However, the change of the average Nusselt number depending on L-f is non-monotonic and at Lf=l.0, the value reaches its maximum

This paper presents a method of the formation of composite polymer-containing coatings on a mg–mn–Ce magnesium alloy by forming a ceramic-like layer using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)and subsequent spraying superdispersed polytetrafluoroethylene *** coating composition and their morphological features were studied by SEm,EDS,GDOES,and *** presented data confirm the embedding of fluoropolymer in the PEO *** evaluation of the corrosion properties of the formed composite polymer-containing coatings indicates a decrease in the corrosion current density by more than 3 orders of magnitude in comparison with the base PEO *** incorporation of a fluoropolymer in a PEO layer by more than 32%increases the load value at which abrasion of the coating to the substrate occurs and reduces the wear of the coating by more than 27 fold in comparison with the PEO *** has been established that composite coatings possess hydrophobic properties:the value of the contact angle attains 152°.

The histological analysis of peripheral nerve regeneration is one of the most used methods to demonstrate the success of the regeneration through nerve conduits. Nowadays, it is possible to evaluate different parameters of nerve regeneration by using histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical and ultrastructural techniques. The histochemical methods are very sensible and are useful tools to evaluate the extracellular matrix remodeling and the myelin sheath, but they are poorly specific. in contrast, the immunohistochemical methods are highly specific and are frequently used for the identification of the regenerated axons, Sehwann cells and proteins associated to nerve regeneration or neural linage. The ultrastructural techniques offer the possibility to perform a high resolution morphological and quantitative analysis of the nerve regeneration. However, the use of a single histological method may not be enough to assess the degree of regeneration, and the combination of different histological techniques could be necessary.

The study was to find out the effect of cadmium and mercury on levels of hemolymph glucose, crustacean hyperglycemic hormone（CHH） and hepatopancreas glycogen in the blue swimmer crab Portunus pelagicus. The experiments were performed in both intact and eyestalk ablated crabs. Quantification of CHH was done by the indirect ELiSA with the aid of primary anti-Carcinus maenas-CHH antibody. Higher glucose concentration was observed on exposure to 8×10^–6 of cadmium（（825.6±5.42） μg/m L） and 6×10^–6 of mercury（（90.5±6.25） μg/m L）after 48 h and 24 h respectively. Higher level of hemolymph glucose was observed in eyestalk intact crabs on exposure to cadmium and mercury than eyestalk ablated crabs. Decrease in the levels of CHH was observed in both eyestalk intact and ablated crabs on heavy metal exposure. Decline of the hepatopancreas glycogen level was also witnessed with the exposure to heavy metal, which validated its utilization in the production of glucose. Thus this study brings to light, the variations in hemolymph glucose, CHH and hepatopancreas glycogen on heavy metal stress. These carbohydrate metabolites can be used as biomarkers in assessing heavy metal contamination in water bodies.

Wrought and laser powder bed fusion （LPBF） Ti-6Al-4v specimens were comparatively evaluated， with the objective to determine LPBF Ti-6-4’s suitability for biomedical applications. Testing included nanoindentation， cyclic polarization in simulated body fluid （SBF， 37 ℃ ）， and dry and SBF “Ball-on-Plate” sliding. Wrought Ti-6-4 exhibited a lamellar （α+β） microstructure， whereas LPBF displayed a fine-grained α'-martensite microstructure. LPBF Ti-6-4 demonstrated ～3% higher indentation modulus and ～32% higher hardness， while wrought Ti-6-4 showed ～8% higher plasticity. Both alloys exhibited low corrosion rates (10–5mA/cm2order) and true passivity (10–4mA/cm2order). No localized corrosion was observed in either alloy， except for occasional metastable pitting in the LPBF alloy. However， LPBF Ti-6-4 presented higher corrosion rate and passive current， ascribed to its martensitic structure. During dry sliding， LPBF Ti-6-4 exhibited ～14% lower volume loss compared to wrought Ti-6-4. Sliding in SBF increased volume losses for both alloys， with wear resistances nearly equalized， as the advantage of LPBF Ti-6-4 decreased due to more intensive wear-accelerated corrosion induced by the stressed martensite. Overall， the results demonstrate the suitability of LPBF Ti-6Al-4v for biomedical uses.

Austenite formation kinetics in two high-strength experimental microalloyed steels with different initial microstructures comprising bainite-martensite and ferrite-martensite/austenite microconstituents was studied during continuous heating by dilatometric analysis. Austenite formation occurred in two steps：（1） carbide dissolution and precipitation and （2） transformation of residual ferrite to austenite. Dilatometric analysis was used to determine the critical temperatures of austenite formation and continuous heating transformation diagrams for heating rates ranging from 0.03°C.s^-1 to 0.67°C.s^-1. The austenite volume fraction was fitted using the Johnson-mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov equation to determine the kinetic parameters k and n as functions of the heating rate. Both n and k parameters increased with increasing heat- ing rate, which suggests an increase in the nucleation and growth rates of austenite. The activation energy of austenite formation was determined by the Kissinger method. Two activation energies were associated with each of the two austenite formation steps. in the first step, the austenite growth rate was controlled by carbon diffusion from carbide dissolution and precipitation; in the second step, it was controlled by the dissolution of residual ferrite to austenite.

The paper presents the results of a systematic study of the influence of nano-additives of various concentrations,average sizes and composition on the temperature dependence of the viscosity and rheological behavior of water-based drilling *** compositions of drilling fluids,such as water suspensions of various clay solutions and gammaxan-based polymer solutions,were *** nanoparticles of silicon and aluminum oxides were used as nano-additives at concentrations ranging from 0.25 to 3 wt%.The average nanoparticle size varied from 10 to 151 *** temperature of drilling fluids varied from 25℃ to 80℃.it is shown that the addition of nanoparticles to drilling fluids leads to a significant change in their rheological properties depending on the *** was found that with increasing temperature,the yield stress and consistency index of drilling fluids with nanoparticles increase,while the behavior index,on the contrary,*** behavior depends on the size of the *** the particle size increases,their influence on the temperature dependence of the drilling fluids’viscosity *** general,it is shown that the addition of nanoparticles makes the viscosity of drilling fluid more stable with regard to the *** is an essential fact for practical application.
